   Hi Eddy:
   I have been going through all the hiring companies involving data entry or contracted work and was wondering if you could give me more insight on Mountain West Processing? This looks like something I would be interested in.

   Also, what is your opinion on Project Payday? Is it a legitimate company? Do you have to pay a fee? From what I have read about it I’m not sure exactly what they do.

   If you know of any other “contracted companies” looking for typist at home could you please send me their URL?

   Your input on these would be greatly appreciated.

   In terms of typing jobs, all the companies I know of are in the companies page you were reading.

   But if your really want to increase your chance at typing at home without competing with the millions of other work at home seekers that want to type at home, then you should seriously consider medical transcription.

   One of our loyal subscribers took our advice about that and she’s pretty much lined herself a job after she gets her training.

   Wow, thank you so much for your input of my zillion questions. Haha. You are one in a million and have been a great help to me. Thank you so much for all your support. I commend you highly.

   I have looked into a few of the surveys that are free but I got an email that said “Join a Survey Directory and Start Earning Cash and Rewards From Over 500 Survey Companies.” They will supply you with “hundreds” of survey companies, plus a bonus of 250 work at home job listings with one of them. The only problem I have is they want money to join. The names of the companies are SurveyScout, PaidSurveysOnLine, ExpressPaidSurveys and GetCashForSurveys. I only saw the registration fee of one and the others don’t have their price anywhere.

   I know sometimes you have to invest money to make money but I have been scammed so many times in the last 18 months that when they want money to join, it freaks me out. I have to make money before I can invest money. LOL. But I would like to start out free making money and then I can do more. LOL

   What do you know about the above companies? I’m retired and hubby drives a truck so he is gone from Monday-Friday so I really have a lot of time on my hands (just not money to invest right now).

   I really want to contract with a company doing typing and there are a few out there but most of them are MTs and I don’t have the training. I can type 90+ words a minute (not bragging mind you…lol…I just used to be a secretary for Southwestern Bell in St. Louis, MO).

   Since Friday I have done nothing (and I mean absolutely nothing … housework included) but go through website after website and joined some companies and did a few surveys and have made $5.94 of which I can’t cash out until a certain amount…lol….And a couple of places 500+ points. I’m in the big bucks now…lol

   If you could provide me with some input it would be greatly appreciated.

   Well back to the surfing to make money. Again Eddy, thank you so much for all the support you have given me thus far. You are my “confidant.”

   In terms of paying for surveys, you really don’t need to do it. Although there are hundreds of companies that offer survey opportunities not all of them are the best. There are only a hand few that are actually worth the effort.

   Some of these sites will have you believe that joining hundreds of them will make you more money. But the fact of the matter is that you only need to join some of the best which I’ve covered in the following articles:

   And honestly if you’re really serious about typing at home then medical transcription is by far the way to go. It’s the only typing job that is available in large numbers. I post new medical transcription jobs everyday on http://www.WorkAtHomeCareers.com whereas “generic typing” jobs are posted maybe once every 3 months.

   So which do you think is easier for you to land?

   Instead of investing money in these work at home products, I would invest it in training for medical transcription. People don’t pay for college and grad school because they have the money. I know I didn’t. We did it because we knew it would open the doors to better opportunities which we could use to pay back our education expense and make money long term. The same can be said for medical transcription.

   In fact one of my loyal subscribers took my advice and she already has a job lined up after she completes her training. You can read about it on the ask page in the comments of that page.

   surveys are great and can make you some money but to be really successful at working at home you need a work at home career not a job. Jobs are hard to land. Careers like medical transcription are easy to get because it’s not something that everyone is willing to do and train for. So why ice skate up hills?

   Hi,
   I love your site, and appreciate the honesty you provide about work-at-home. You seem to be one of the few who actually “tell it like it is.”
   About your review of WAHM, it is a nice forum, and has some good information, but they seem to promote starting your own business, rather than just making money doing other things. Yeah… all of us would love to have a business that brings in money… but realistically, many of us just don’t have the money to invest in a business, and can’t wait months to finally start realizing any profit. And I dislike most sales talks!
   Your site has been invaluable to me so far. I just joined FusionCash, and am doing surveys, too. Who knows, next month I might have some extra cash!

   We try our best to give a fair assessment about work at home opportunities and sites. There are too many websites out there being negative nancies that over generalize and you also have sites that flat out lie. So I’m happy you can appreciate our approach.

   WAHM does actually have a great forum which focuses on “work at home jobs” but the reason they do provide a lot more information on home businesses is because that’s where the money and availability is.

   I respect them for that. I know everyone just wants a regular work at home job but the reality is there aren’t that many available for the demand that is present. So sites like WAHM are complete resource where they provide you with all your options even the ones many of you think you can’t do. So I respect them for that and we do the same here.

   Another thing to keep in mind is that on average it takes months and even years just to land a work at home job and there is no guarantee that you’ll actually land it. Whereas with a business it may take you a few months to get really situated and if you’re trained properly you’ll actually be making money unlike searching or waiting for a work at home job. So there is a logic behind it.

   And finally I do agree that many of the home based businesses opportunities being discussed on wahm are very salesy. That’s why I prefer a work at home career as an affiliate:
