Hi JB,

What you'll find is nearly all work at home companies treat you as an independent contractor. So if you earn over $600 by the end of the year, they have to report your income
to the government. So this is why they need your social security number. It's a common company. That being said I agree that you shouldn't just provide this information to random companies. I've been with hits4pay for over a year and received tax forms I needed to submit to my accountant. So I know from personal experience they're legit and why I personally recommend them. But ultimately you have to do what is comfortable for you. Some companies will delay asking that information until you earn $600 so that may be option. Good luck either way.

Hello,
This seems like a good site...haven't got to read much yet. Just a question about sites like Hits4pay...they require you to give your social security number in order to be paid. How safe it that? I have always been told to NEVER give your social security number out. That put up a red flag for me. I understand that it would be needed for legitimate reasons, but how can you be sure that it is safe? Is there any way to go about that a different way in which you do not have to reveal your social security number?
Thanks (and sorry if you already answered this question elsewhere...I will continue to read).

Hi Eddy,

Is there any sites out there to work at home for Canadians. I would like a data entry or typing or even administrative assistant job. If you could help me out that would be greatly helpful. I need a work at home badly, since I can't work outside the home due to an auto accident.

Thanks

Ann,

Yes I think any type of transcription job is a viable option. I just know from my research that medical transcription tends to be available in larger numbers. Furthermore I'm not claiming that the profession of data entry is a scam. However when it comes to the work at home industry most of those so called data entry jobs people are signing up for are just people misrepresenting affiliate marketing as data entry. That's just a fact. But it's not to say there aren't any legitimate data entry jobs out there but the fact is there aren't many and the competition is ridiculous.

My negativity is more at people limiting themselves to a field where there isn't much availability. I've seen too many become desperate and lose money or become scammed because of it. I am happy that you found some legitimate companies to work with. You've been very blessed but your success in this particular field isn't a common occurence. But it may serve as inspiration to others which I can appreciate and encourage. In terms of the companies you work for, please feel free to list them. Although I suspect it's probably companies I've already listed here:
www.workathomenoscams.com/companies or www.workathomenoscams.com/category/work-from-home-job-leads

In any event, thanks for your comments. Hopefully I've made my position more clear.

What about regular transcription jobs, there's not just medical. ANd data entry is legit I've done it for years. I've done transcription for interviews, board meetings, college lectures, etc., there's so much more out there than everyone thinks. ANd I haven't paid a penny for my jobs. Am I aloud to mention websites?

Don’t get me wrong I think this site is great. I’ve just read a lot of negativity against data entry. (I do believe in “to each their own”) but I’ve been doing it for so long I can’t believe there are people who haven’t. I’ve owned my own site and business. ANd only broke even, there’s too much competition. But that’s just me. I like knowing I’ll get a paycheck when I work period. THe only down side I see is insurance and I don’t get paid sick time…LOL. But I can say I have a job, not many can these days, it’s not making me rich but I can pay the bills.

Hi Tom,

Welcome to my site. I hope you'll be a long time subscriber and visitor. It's good that you're actually spending the time to read the vast material. I assure you, you'll be better off in this industry because of it. Be sure to visit the scam page and study it from top to bottom, including the videos, articles and comments:
www.workathomenoscams.com/scams

But I'm sure you would have done so anyway. ;)

In any event, I'm glad to hear you're planning to take action. That's always the first step. Good luck.
