Synovate Global Opinions Panel – Scam or Not?
"Hip hop hooray!" I’m glad to report that I have found another non-traditional, AVAILABLE work at home opportunity. So if you’re not hearing back from employers, struggling to find job leads or just getting frustrated searching for legit work at home instead of making money, then listen up!
Synovate is another company that is similar to MySurvey.com. As any of my loyal subscribers know, paid online surveys aren’t scams contrary to whatever you’ve been told. But just in case you’re new, let me break it on down.
Many of you are running into companies charging you for online paid survey list. This isn’t a scam or illegal. But people seem to get peeved because they later realize that they could have come to a site like ours and received this information for free. So in their anger, they run around the web calling these companies a scam. This is a very grey area.
The fact of the matter is we all pay for free information all the time in newspapers, books, etc. With many of these survey products you’re paying for the convenience of not having to hunt down all these companies on your own. For some, time is money so this is worth the fee. For others, we’re like screw that, I’ll find it myself. To each their own.
The only real shady thing I see about these the paid online survey list brokers is that they tend to misrepresent how much money you can make & how soon you’ll make it. They exaggerate this stuff to disarm your skepticism & to justify the ridiculous fees charged for this free information.
Now with that said, this is why people get turned off and write off all surveys as a scam. This is a huge mistake and overgeneralization which is costly, because many people end up missing out on a legitimate company like Synovate.
So now that’s out of the way, feel free to watch the video below to learn more about this company. However there are a few things you should know before you do. Synovate is listed with the BBB with an average rating, there are no fees & you make money the first day you sign up which is pretty cool. Enjoy the video:
Well there you have it. As you saw in the video I’ve already joined. I’ll be monitoring it over the next few weeks to see how it pans out. But just on the fact that I’ve already earned money with Synovate within such a short period of time is all the proof I need. So I doubt you’ll hear complaints from me.

The registration form on the link you gave doesn’t submit, and gosynovate.com doesn’t show anything for me. Did they disappear?
ReplyHi Eric,
The links are still working fine.
I think its limited to the US and Canada only.
So if you’re not in those locations, it won’t work.
I haven’t heard that anyone had issues with it.
If you are in these locations, try using someone else’s computer because it may be isolated to your machine.
Hope this helps.
Eddy
ReplyHi Eddy
I went to this site as well and put in my name and info but the blue enter link is not taking me to the next page.
ReplyHi Khara,
It looks like a technical issue.
I’m sure it should be fixed in day or two.
I’m going to email them to make them aware.
Thanks for letting us know.
Eddy
ReplyHey i just tried to sign up with these guys, and i am a Canadian resident, the Complete your registration NOW button seems to be disabled
BTW i think that this is a great site so far.
ReplyHi Jean,
I emailed those guys after reading Khara’s comments.
Hopefully they’ll get this fixed asap. I’m happy you’re enjoying our site.

ReplyThanks for the discussion about the opportunities in home based business…
ReplyI am new to internet business and your post and links will definitely help me a lot…
Thanks again…
I live neither in US nor Canada. Why is every good thing restricted to residents of already rich nations. I’m dieing to join, can’t you extend your lifeline to me here in Nigeria?
Hey! i’ve got a system with good internet connection. That’s all that my one year hardwork as a physical therapist can offer. Invested all that several months ago to start something online.
Help me succeed!!
Prince, Nigeria
ReplyHi Prince,
I totally understand your frustration but I don’t make the rules with these companies. Most U.S. based companies don’t really make these type of opportunities available all over the world because a number of reasons.
So you’re best bet is to use our international section and follow the advice there:
http://www.WorkAtHomeNoScams.com/international
Good luck,
Eddy
ReplyOK,but there is a new way you can help me. How does it feel to be employed by a GHOST!. This firm-offlinetypistjobs.com or netjobs87@yahoo.com. I really don’t know which best describes them.
ReplyMaybe it’s better put this way- Ad posting jobs, made an offer i accepted excitedly and was 3days into their ad posting job before realizing they just don’t respond to mails of any sort. A typical Zero support services.
If they can’t respond to my mails how can one be sure they will respond to demands of payment by month end. Could it just be one of the scams i had fallen into or are they real?. I’ve suspended work with them as a result.
If i’m wrong about them please notify me on time before i lose my 300bucks!
Hi,
This sounds like a typical scam or company misrepresenting themselves.
Read our question section http://www.workathomenoscams.com/ask
We address these so called typing/data entry jobs and why they should be avoided.
We also have a question on what to do if you feel you’ve been scammed.
In the future, don’t ever invest any money in any company especially not for data entry or typing without following the advice of our scam section:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/scams
Scam artist know that everyone wants to type or do data entry so they think of all these different ways to entice you to buy their product and most of the time its not what you think it will be.
If you want to find data entry or typing jobs follow the advice in the international page I listed above.
There are tons of jobs available for people outside the U.S. and you definitely don’t need to pay $300.
Hopefully you paid with a credit card and can reverse the charges if you’re lucky.
But read our questions page carefully, it will help you avoid a lot of these situations and better educate you on how to succeed with working at home.
Eddy.
P.S. Any other question you have should be directed there and not on this particular blog post since its about synovate.
ReplyI had problems with the blue sign up button on Synovates web page using Fire Fox, but when I switched browsers it worked fine. I fine this quite often with Fire Fox.
ReplyHi Elizabeth,
I wonder if they did something recently that messed up the sign up process using firefox because I originally signed up within firefox with no issues. Go figure.
Most of the people that use this website are on IE anyway so I don’t know if that bug applied to them.
In either case it seems like everyone can sign up with no issues because I haven’t received any more reports of issues.
But thanks for sharing this Elizabeth.
We appreciate it!
Eddy
ReplyYup, the blue button definitely will NOT work in Firefox, I had to open up Internet Explorer in order to use it.
ReplyHi Monica,
Thanks for the report. Most people use IE so they should be fine.
I love me some firefox though. I wish more sites would make an effort to test their sites for it. I don’t even use IE anymore. But to each their own.
Eddy
ReplyEddy,
ReplyI registered as a member to Synovate and never received a confirmation e-mail. I tried contacting “Marie” and haven’t received a response either. Am I doing something wrong. By the way, this is a fantastic, informative website that you have here. I’m learning so much from you. Thank You
Hi Debbie,
Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate it.
Did you check your spam or unknown folder in your email?
Sometimes these confirmation emails and other emails we actually want end up there.
Marie should get in contact with you in time. They’re a bit slow with their responses.
In the mean time check those areas of your mail box.
You could also just start with another great legitimate survey company like my survey:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2008/03/10/if-you-dont-work-for-this-company-youll-kick-yourself-later/
Hope this helps.
Eddy
ReplyI di check those areas. I’m fairly new to google mail, but my yahoo e-mail acct is so packed with junk! I will hold outhope of hearing from Synovate. Keep up the good work Eddy. I have several moms that are looking your website up today.
ReplyHi Debbie,
That’s weird then. I would give Marie till the end of the week to get back to you.
Thanks again for the words of encouragement. We’re trying to help as many people as possible and I’m happy you appreciate our efforts enough to tell other moms. The more people, the merrier! =)
Eddy
ReplyI received a postcard from Synovate stating that if I completed a particular online survey I would receive a $10 check. I completed the survey on 11/13. According to my records, I should have received the check by 1/8. Nothing. I emailed Marie at Synovate and asked when I could received the check. She asked for my mailing address again and said I should receive the check by 1/29. Still no check. I emailed Marie again. At this point I am suspecting that Synovate is nothing but a scam. I’ll let you all know if I am wrong and actually get paid.
ReplyHi Kittenwithclaws,
I am sorry to hear your payment with Synovate has been delayed. You’ve taken the appropriate steps and I am sure you’ll hear back from them. I’ve experienced very slow responses from them as well. So I wouldn’t be surprised if they were just extremely late with this check as well. To their defense, I’ve had the same delays with emails and payments from MySurvey as well. But they do always get back and pay just not in the most timely manner. Keep us posted.
Eddy
ReplyI was just sent a link to this Synovate group after being tapped for a focus group (my first ever) and signing on to SurveyLot.com, so am curious to know about their rep. Just found and joined your site — thank you for it, and I’ll look forward to researching through you some more.
ReplyFocus groups are a wonderful way to make money. They pay better than regular online surveys.
We list many more survey opportunities and info on focus groups on our articles page:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/articles
Good luck to you.
ReplyHave you ever heard of an opportunity called 10 Dollars Wonder? If so, what do you know about it? From what I understand, you pay $10 for an ad. As more and more people buy ads from the site, you are paid on each as they “cycle”. Are they legit and how does this actually work (or fail to work)?
ReplyHi Bonnie,
No I haven’t. But I’m sure you can learn a lot about this company by following the simple steps in our scam video:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/scams
Don’t invest any money an opportunity that you haven’t done your research on. The scam video will help you do that.
But based on what you told me, it’s something I would probably pass on.
Check out our work at home guide:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/workathomeguide
I am sure it will help you find something legitimate.
Good luck.
ReplyGlobalOpinionPanels is a scam. It took me over a year and 32 surveys to earn a meagre £5. I claimed this on 8th December 2008 and 3 months later I have not received it. They are the worst survey company that I have ever encountered. I would urge people to avoid these scammers.
ReplyUpdate on above:
I contacted the company and they said that they would look into it. Still haven’t been paid. They are SCAMMERS. Avoid them like AIDS.
ReplyDavitz,
I’m sorry to hear they haven’t gotten back to you regarding your payment.
ReplyI hope this is an isolated issue and not widespread. Because honestly I haven’t heard a lot of reports like this.
Nonetheless, this is troubling. What’s your user name with this company so maybe I can contact them on your behalf.
Include the amount you were owed as well. You can email privately if anything.
hi, i registered and went to “for available surveys click here” and it says:
::My surveys
Click on the Survey ID or Subject to access the survey.
ReplyCurrently, you do not have any items available.
Hi,
It just means exactly what it says. You don’t have any surveys at the moment. They’ll definitely email you when they do have a survey. Keep in mind you only get surveys when companies are looking for a specific demographic and profile that you fit. Hope this helps.
Replyare there any similar sites like this for canadians?
I thought they were going to give you a list of surveys and you can choose which ones you want to take..lol.
also, how much money on average does a person make from this site each week?
ReplyAdam,
My buddy Callie has a survey site that might be able to help you:
http://www.SurveyFavs.com So check them out.
In terms of your question, there is no average of how much survey takers make. As I said earlier, the surveys only come if you fit a profile that a company needs. Some profiles may be more desirable at a given time than others. And the pay varies depending on the survey network you’re part of. It’s not something you can make a full living with unless you’re combining that effort by referring others to the legitimate survey companies you’re part of.
Many of them have referral/affiliate programs you can join. But that’s only beneficial to you if you’re a trained affiliate. You may want to look in to focus groups as well which pay significantly more: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2008/01/08/focus-groups-got-paid-150/
Hope this helps.
ReplyI have contacted several of the work at home ads from you’re site and each time they have either choose to get rid of the job or have wanted me to pay $55.00 for a background / credit history.
This dosent seem to settler with me very well.
ReplyReverend,
Welcome to the work at home industry. It’s notoriously competitive and jobs come and go in the blink of an eye. As you already know, we’re in a recession. So the competition for these jobs are even greater than before. Employers are often flooded with responses once their job becomes available on the web. Once they receive a good number of quality candidates to review (which happens very quickly), employers then remove the jobs because they’re just overwhelmed with responses. As someone that hires work at home seekers from time to time, I speak from experience. It would amaze me how fast my mail box would be filled. You pretty much want the bleeding to stop, so you pull the ad.
In terms of the background check not every company does that. VIPDesk doesn’t:
http://www.vipdesk.com/connectrecruiting/?RID=WorkatHomeNoScams
However other companies like Arise have this practice. I know it’s a sore spot for many work at home seekers. But every company will have different policies that we may or may not agree with. I just know from experience that Arise is a legitimate company. At the end of the day when people are asking for fees, it’s always a good idea to do your research because most of the time the companies are probably trying to sell you something or misrepresent a product as a job. (Arise isn’t one of those companies.) But it’s better to be safe than sorry. I’m not sure if you had some time to familiarize yourself with my scam page. If not please head there now http://www.workathomenoscams.com/scams . Watch the video, read the articles and the comments listed there. Then you’ll be better equipped to determine which of these companies are actually legit.
At the end of the day I wish I could tell you that jobs won’t be filled or pull down quickly. But that’s not the reality of the situation. If landing a work at home job was that easy, most people wouldn’t choose to leave their families to spend 8 hours of their day making someone else rich. This is part of the territory. You’re bound to repeat this cycle many times over until you finally get a bite. As a man of God I’m sure you’re very familiar with his favor. Just continue to push forward and have faith that you’ll beat the odds and find the perfect work at home job.
I’ve done my best to help you with this by providing you with the following:
Leads every Friday:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/category/work-from-home-job-leads
My work at home companies page:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/companies
My work at home guide:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/workathomeguide
My other work at home site that provides job leads every day:
http://www.workathomecareers.com
So you have a multitude of options, continue to use them. Be mindful of scams or ads and eventually you’ll find something. It may take months or longer to achieve this but if you stay vigilant it can happen. That being said there are other non-traditional opportunities you can take advantage of during this search: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/recommendations
It may or may not be something for you to explore. It ultimately depends on your preferences. In any event I hope this helps you.
Take care.
