Is ClixSense.com A Scam!

Clixsense - Get Paid To Click on Ads!Clixsense.com is known a GPTC site. For those of you that have no idea what this means, it refers to a get paid to click site. If you’re a long time subscriber of my site, you’re sort of familiar with get paid sites. The premise is pretty straight forward. You get paid for some type of action.  A while ago, I reviewed a get paid to try offer site known as Fusion Cash. Despite what some of the naysayers may say, it can be a great way to make money. You just need to follow some basic tips which will help you avoid losing money or getting spammed which is often the common complaints.  But I digress, this is a review about Clixsense.com, so let’s get into it.

So How Does Clixsense.com Work?

Uhh, you basically get paid to click on ads. Ain’t no more to it. It works very much like You Data. Advertisers want you to view their websites or ads and instead of paying a middleman like a magazine, TV or newspaper, they pay you directly for your attention. Makes "cents" to me, but it may not to you. So here’s a little something something I whipped up walking you through a typical day of clicking ads on Clixsense.com

How Much Can You Earn?

Only about .01 – .02 cents per click. Ouch! I know what you’re saying. "Eddy What the hell am I suppose to do with .01 cent?" Well a better question is, how much are you getting paid for clicking on ads and searching for work at home jobs right now? I’m not Ms. Cleo, but I’m going to go out on a limb and make a prediction. My crystal ball tells me you’re currently earning a big fat nada, zilch, 0 clicking on ads and searching for work at home jobs! Am I right? Damn I’m good.

But seriously, if you’re fine with not making money for something you already do, then you should stop reading this article. We’ll wait…… For the rest of you, this is just another example of the mantra I’m always preaching on this blog. If you’re involved in multiple streams of income, (no matter how small they are) it can add up to decent money.  Chances are you won’t be able to support your family on Clixsense earnings alone. But if you couple it with multiple opportunities such as surveys, get paid to try offers, get paid to read emails, a traditional work at home job, etc. Guess what? You’re starting to make some real money now.  See my logic? That’s how I got started and eventually lead me to my career as an affiliate marketer earning 5 figure per month. But I wasn’t too proud to crawl first before I learned to run. So think about that and let it marinate in your mind before laughing off such opportunities.

2 Ways To Earn More Money With Clixsense.

1. Refer Other People.

It should come as no surprise to you that Clixsense (like nearly ever company) has an affiliate program aka a referral program. This is a great way to make some decent income in addition to your own effort. After all, you’re probably spending a lot of time on sites that have other people looking for legit work at home opportunities (i.e. Such as the site you’re on now. ;) ). So how great would it be to get paid for telling folks about clixsense using the free website they provide you like this one: www.Clixsense.com/?2119856 ? Depending on your membership status Free or Premium, you’ll be able to earn .01 or .10 per new referral. You can also receive $2.00 if your referral upgrades to a Premium account.

Let’s take a look at an example of how much you can make if you were only able to refer 5 people & only 3 of them upgraded to premium.

As you can see, this can add up nicely for people that are willing to work hard and share this great opportunity with others.

2. Become A Premium Member.

Clixsense offers an OPTIONAL premium membership which cost only $10 per year (at the time of this article was written). Premium memberships allow you to earn even more because you receive an additional $1.00 per person on all the people your referrals introduce to Clixsense and this is 5 levels deep. You also get paid 10% of your first level’s ad clicking activity which is a nice residual income depending on how many people you refer.

The other benefit of being a premium member is that you get way more ads to click which obviously makes you more money. As a free member I only saw 5-10 ads per day. As a premium member it jumped up to a few hundred. But that will vary depending on the number of advertisers they have and how many people are clicking the ads.  Either way, when I did the math, it just added up and why I jumped on this level of membership without hesitation. With that said, I’ve already made my premium membership back and then some as you could see in the video.

For some people, becoming a premium member is out of the question because you may not have the $10 to upgrade, are skeptical or just don’t like the idea of investing money in an opportunity. That’s fine, just stick with the free member status. Clixsense totally sympathizes with these concerns and allows free members to use the money they earn to upgrade to a premium member status. Granted, it will take a long time to earn the $10 needed to upgrade. But at least they give you the option.  At the end of the day becoming a premium member has been a great strategy for me.  But it doesn’t mean you need to follow my lead. Just do what’s best for your situation.

When & How Do You Get paid?

Payments are disbursed by check and mailed to the postal address on your profile on or before the 10th day of each month for earnings of the prior month provided that your account balance has reached the minimum payout level of $10 (you may select a higher minimum payout if desired). If your account balance is less than $10 (or the minimum payout you selected), earnings will carry forward until such month as you have met the minimum check requirement.

Is this opportunity limited to the U.S.?

Nope! It appears to be open to all countries! Isn’t that nice for a change? It always kills me when I introduce a great opportunity and I have to tell my international supporters that it’s not in their area. So applaud Clixsense for this open door policy.

The Cons

1. Check payments! I hate these things with a passion because it requires that I get off my lazy arse and head to the ATM or bank teller. This goes against my whole anti-social and hermit nature. I would love to see a paypal or direct deposit option but money is money.

2. Check Processing fee! They deduct a $3 check processing fee. I guess it’s a necessary evil so they can pay people from all different countries. But that $3 can hurt if you only made a few bucks. Let’s hope you follow my lead and make the big bucks!

3. $10 minimum payout.  I would really prefer a non-existent minimum payout amount like You Data offers or an extremely low amount such as $2. But considering the check processing fee, I guess it’s not a viable option.

4. Fewer Ads for Free Members. It comes as no surprise that free members don’t get access to as many of the paid click ads. But that’s sort of expected because it’s obviously in Clixsense’s best interest to have you upgrade. After all they are trying to make money here. So I can’t really hate on them for it. But I’m sure it’s something someone will moan and groan about.

Ultimately none of these complaints are deal breakers for me. Despite them I was able to make some money.  But these cons may be too much for you. So at least now you know what to expect and make the best decision for you.

The Final Word

In my humble opinion Clixsense.com is not a scam! Is it perfect? No. But I don’t know one company that is. What I do know is that I’ve been paid for clicking ads and referring people to their site. So at the very least I know Clixsense pays and are the real deal.  If what you’ve read about the company sounds good thus far, then I encourage you to Join Clixsense by clicking here. For that matter you may want to look into Hits4Pay.com, YouData.com, NeoBux.com, MySurvey.com & FusionCash.com as well, since they are also get paid sites.

If this opportunity isn’t your cup of tea and you prefer a "real" work at home job, then visit my work at home companies or work at home guide page. Either way your boy has you covered. Just pick the opportunities that are right for you.

Sites like Clixsense.com & YouData.com have made me a get paid to click whore. I experienced the same thing when I discovered surveys.  Now I’m constantly on the look out for more GPTC sites. Trust me they’re are too many out there to count. Over the next few weeks I’m only going to cover the best of the best. I know the temptation is going to be that you want to sign up for every single GPTC site you find. Don’t do it to yourself! They’re not all created equal. As always do your research following the easy steps of my scam video listed here. Because that’s exactly what I’ll be doing when one of you asks me if a certain GPTC site is a scam. (Wink, Wink)

So what are your thoughts about GPTC & get paid sites in general? I know people have a love hate relationship with them because some of them are really just spam farms or don’t pay. But let me know what you think of Clixsense or any other GPTC sites?

Any other questions?

I’ve pretty much laid out all the information I have based on my experience. But if I failed to address any questions you have, visit ClixSense’s faq section by clicking here to visit their site, then click on the FAQ/Support tab at the top. They’ll be happy to answer your questions and usually reply within 24 hours. Hope it helps.

Nice article and video. I’ve been a member of clixsense for a while. I think I’ve had 1 or 2 payouts. It’s a good company and I do like it. I’ve been going back and forth as to whether I should upgrade or not. $10.00 a year is really nothing but is it worth the upgrade? I’ve asked several other clixsense members and I get mixed responses. Some say yes it’s worth it because they got so many more ads. Others have said that the huge number of ads was just a one time thing and that they don’t get many at all anymore. In your video, there were 344 ads. I’d love to see that in my account every few days or so. Eddy, about how many ads are you talking about as an upgraded member? Once again, I’m thinking about an upgrade if I like what I hear.

Look forward to hearing from you soon. Take care.

    Hi Lynn,

Glad to hear you’re a member and have been paid out twice. I think the upgrade is better in terms of the money you earn for referring other people. But in respects to the ads, you do see way more ads to click on. But I don’t know if it would be a consistent 300+ like you saw in my video. At the end of the day no one should invest $10 if it would be a huge lost to them if they didn’t recoup their investment which I think is highly unlikely with this opportunity. Hope this helps.

Awesome Video for an Awesome program. The $10 per year upgrade is no brainer. Typical clicks per day range from 15 – 30, which is awesome. I think you forgot to mention that you can convert your earnings to advertising credits for your other programs. Really though.. once again, very nice. Although I think my video for clixsense was a bit more fun, yours was way more professional than mine =P.

    You rock Eddy!!

    What up big Phil!

Thanks for chiming in buddy. You of all people would know about this opportunity and would be able to provide the real deal on it. I didn’t mention the advertising option yet because I have something planned in terms of content regarding this down the line. ;) But it’s still good to point out though. I just checked out your video today, you’ve really mastered this jingproject.com and are running with the video reviews. Makes life a lot easier right? My video is only a bit more professional because I’ve been spending the last two sleepless nights playing around with imovie 09 and mastering it. It’s a great way to spruce up your video if you own a mac. But if you have a windows machine you might want to upgrade to Camtasia which does a lot of cool things too and isn’t limited as jingproject.com. They’re created by the same folks. Thanks again man for chiming in!

P.S. You guys need to check out http://www.PhilsFault.com. Phil is involved in so many non-traditional work at home opportunities and is living proof of making money with multiple streams of income. You’ll learn a lot over there.

    Hey Joanne,

No I’m not the boss of Clixsense. I’m just an affiliate. But considering an upgrade is definitely a good thing if you want to earn more with the clicks and referrals. But as I said it’s not necessary if you’re happy with the money you’ve already been making with the company. I just did it because the math just seemed right and its worked out well for me and apparently Phil too! ;)

    Hi Eddy,
You hooked me on another one! I will be paying for the premium membership out of my winnings from your contest~ LOL! I was looking to buy some advertising but the few places I contacted for a price list have not gotten back to me. Maybe Clixsense will run an ad for me. Oh, and today I did a screen shot of pay from Lightspeed and the matching PayPal confirmation of funds paid and posted it to my website. I earned $120.00 for one of those live online focus group type surveys. Learned the screen shot idea from YOU! Many thanks!

    Hey Shawna,

Glad to hear it. lol I’m actually going to cover advertising on these sites in article very soon. Be on the look out for it. It will prove very helpful. ;)
I’m glad you’re using the screenshot software http://www.jingproject.com to show folks your earnings. It’s very important to be transparent with people especially when you’re referring them to a work at home program. It’s hard enough for people to trust each other in this industry because there are so many scammers out there. So you definitely want to put that fear to ease with social proof. That’s a big reason I like creating videos of the programs I personally recommend to you guys. Sometimes I find a great program and I’ll purposely wait a whole month or longer before I write an article about it. Because I want to be certain that the company is legit by going through it myself and making money with it. This way I feel confident referring you guys to good programs. And boy it kills me to wait. But I think its the best way to approach this and maintain your trust.

So you go girl for doing the same thing! Look forward to hearing about your success with this program as well.

    @Eddy Salomon:
actually the videos are a pain in the butt. Something always messes me up, kids walking in, me saying something off topic or sneezing.. No really though they are fun to make, I love the fact that I get to be myself and have fun with ‘em… being honest isn’t always a great sales tool but at least I maintain credibility ( or something ). Thanks for pointing me to JingProject.

You’re welcome Lee! I’m glad I did the article then. I think you’ve hit it on the head. Most people are spending hours per day online. Most of which involves activities that aren’t make them money anyway. So why not sign up for companies like clixsense and make some pocket change while you’re tweeting or goofing off on MySpace. To me it just doesn’t make “cents” not to. But everyone is different. Some folks just view this stuff as a waste of time but yet will spend hours on twitter tweeting about the “Deuce” they just took. Go figure.

Just glad you and others can see the value of programs like this.

I became a member of ClickSense as of 6/16 of this year, and about a month later I signed up for the premium service. And as of today, I have $6.44 built up. Yes, when I first became premium, I had about 450 ads but once I went thru those, the days after would only gather a few extra ads per day. Still, with the extra ads and if you’re able to get a few ref’s under you, I think the investment is well worth it.

It’s funny… I got into this because I’ve been involved with a few other get-paid-to sites, including the survey sites. I wanted to make sure I hadn’t missed any sites you (or people in your forums) recommended and found Hits4Pay and the sister site DealsNCash, both dubbed as “paid to read e-mail” sites, although since the “e-mail” is on their own site, I tend to think of them more as PTC (paid-to-click) sites. One of the ads I viewed was for ClickSense, and so I joined that as well (remembering your mantra of multiple small stream leads to a big river). And from ClickSense, I happened across some other PTC sites as well as a few matrix sites; a few I have joined.

But thru my research into these other sites, I have found only a few that I like. I think that YouData and ClickSense are more legit in terms of sites making money thru ads… Like MyPoints (a read e-mail site), the ads tend to come from more well-known commercial sites. A lot of the other PTC sites I’ve found seem to be more like Ponzi schemes where they make there money by the investment of newer members. They usually have free memberships, but offer better payouts for premium memberships as well as referral “renting” (“renting” referrals from the pool of people that joined the site without being referred to by someone else).

And I’ve found that PTC sites are notorious for being more scammy than other types of sites. The reason is because of that “many small stream” mentality; once people have started to join a few legit sites, they tend to get hungry for more. So they Google for those types of sites, sign-up, pay for premium memberships etc., and suddenly the site owners pull the plug on the site, sucking up all of the click-revenues they’ve received that the members weren’t able to cashout.

I hope (and knowing you, I don’t doubt) that in these upcoming articles, you’ll not only talk about legit sites, but also go into some techniques to help spot the scams. Keep up the good work!

    Hey Larry,

Thanks for chiming in with such an informative and helpful comment. You’ve touched upon what I mentioned in the article above when I wrote: “I know the temptation is going to be that you want to sign up for every single GPTC site you find. Don’t do it to yourself! They’re not all created equal. As always do your research following the easy steps of my scam video listed here…”

Like you, I started trying to find as many PTC sites as possible. More so to have new sites to introduce to you guys. But knowing what I know of the industry, I did my research by using the method in my scam video and it helped me quickly avoid certain PTC sites that were scams. There is a list out there that I’ll write a post about in the near future or someone can feel free to post in the comment below. ;)

At the end of the day folks should always do their research and never assume anything. That’s why I constantly mention my scam page and the video. It’s not because I like repeating myself (although I do have a habit of doing that) but it’s more because I know following the steps in that video help you avoid a lot of problems. You don’t need me to figure out if something is a scam. That video is basically my knowledge on how to research companies and anyone that has a brain can do it. PTC can be a great way to make money but like surveys or any other non-traditional opportunity, you should always do your research. It’s better to assume that everyone is guilty until proven innocence in this industry. Always be in the know by doing simple reasearch: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/scams

You’re a fine example of this. So thanks for reinforcing the scam warning. By the way, I love your twist on my analogy: “multiple small stream leads to a big river”. Hope you don’t mind, but I’m going to using that a lot. lol Thanks again for chiming in Larry. You’ve provided some great insight which is greatly appreciated. As such if you run into something related to this field that you have researched and done well with, feel free to come back and share. I don’t really allow direct self promotion but when certain commentors like yourself provide such good value, I think you should have a platform and make some change in the process.

ClixSense, MatrixMails, WordLinx and LinkGrand are my faves of the PTCs & PTRs and all legit and all have paid me except WordLinx, which would have paid me already but I spent earlier earnings on advertising (but I should be cashing out there again soon). They’re also four of the oldest in existence and most established, and the first three pay $0.01 or more per, which is more than the majority of the regular PTCs do. Some of the other older PTRs (like Hits4Pay & Deals ‘n’ Cash) pay $0.01 or $0.02 per as well.

While I am an upgraded member at ClixSense, MatrixMails, and WordLinx, I don’t have a lot of hope for the huge potential earnings thru the matrices at ClixSense and WordLinx ever happening – if it does, great – but if I wasn’t an upgraded member I’d still be waiting to make my first cashout, most likely, and instead I have been able to cash out at ClixSense once ($14.50 after they took the processing fee out) and repeatedly at MatrixMails. The difference basically boils down to being two or three ads per day vs. 15-20 or more a day at ClixSense, and up to $0.04 per mail and ad (for the highest upgrade) vs. $0.01 at Matrix. The $0.04 per does add up after a while and I chose the highest lifetime upgrade there when I upgraded, so I never have to pay it again.

ClixSense and WordLinx at $10 for a whole year are no-brainers to me though ‘cos you just get more ads daily generally and it does eventually add up and a lot quicker than as a free member (WordLinx doesn’t really increase quite as dramatically with ads, but it is more than as a free member when upgraded). I suspect this time next year I might still have been waiting to make my first cashout if I had never upgraded. So it’s been worth it to me for that plus in the long run, you not only do make a little more on referrals but there is still the potential for big earnings – even if it’s just potential.

The check payment only thing at ClixSense drives pretty much everyone insane, here in the days of PayPal and AlertPay et al – but I don’t think they’re likely to change it, at least not anytime soon. I think most people just set their minimum payout to $20 at the least, then the processing fee doesn’t quite hurt so much as it does at $10 (LOL).

I think one of the things about these older and established PTC and PTR sites is, obviously, you are going to earn more by upgrading (for those that have upgrades available) and referring, but the problem with the latter is that these sites have been around so long and are so well established that “everyone” is already a member, so it’s not as easy to refer people to those as to newer sites. I’m saying that with tongue in cheek of course – obviously everyone in the whole world isn’t a member! – but most who have found their way to the GPT/PTC/PTR community already are.

One quick hint about ClixSense (and WordLinx too, as it were) in particular – unlike a lot of other PTCs and PTRs, there are new ads added throughout the day and evening, so it behooves members to check for new ads a few times a day, as many of them will run out and disappear after 500 or so views. ClixSense usually puts the first ones of the day up around 6-7am CST and will usually stop around 9pm CST at night. The overwhelming majority of PTCs and PTRs on my daily rounds I only do once a day, but those I always try to check at least two or three times daily.

Anyway, hope you’ll take all this in the spirit it was intended – not trying to self-promote, just help and inform! Anyone interested in getting into it all, there are plenty of forums and blogs and other sites out there with mucho info on most any PTC, PTR, or GPT program out there – I consider most of the PTRs and a majority of the GPTs safe to deal with, but PTCs I would recommend anyone do a little due diligence on before getting seriously involved – it doesn’t take tons of reading around the forums and blogs and other sites to sort out which ones are established and legit and been paying for years (all of the abovementioned, and Clicksia and Incentria come to mind as well) from the rest, and some of the rest are very good sites with good and reputable owners – and some have had problems. I just kind of take it all as I’m not worried at all about the old standard sites and standbys, and as for the rest, I just consider that extra money that will hopefully be there when it’s time to cash out, and leave it at that. *shrug*

RE YouData – I think it’s an awesome concept, I just hope it will continue to grow. It definitely has the potential due to the quality companies it’s attracted so far – I just wish they would be able to get MORE of them, but hopefully soon.

PS Love the blog, Phil turned me onto it, and I made something under 20 cents at Amazon Mechanical Turk thanks to you (heh)! It’s actually kind of cool, I had glanced at it but not really paid much attention until I read your post about it. Keep the good stuff coming (I actually am interested in stuff sometimes besides GPT/PTC/PTR, heh)! :)

Thank you Miss Money Hunter that was a very informative comment! I even learned a few things there. ;) Hope everyone else was taking notes!

I agree with you about Wordlinx.com. It’s an okay PTC site at best. I did cash out recently at $5 just to make sure it was legit and it was. (Review to come) But it doesn’t have anywhere near as many ads as Clixsense or Hits4pay.

In terms of “everyone” already joining these sites, I don’t buy that argument at all. I use to assume that as well. But I have thousands of referrals from various opportunities that are allegedly saturated that prove this is not the case. Millions if not billions of people use the internet every day so there are tons of new people looking for legitimate ways to make money that you can refer. The other thing to keep in mind is that if you’re trained affiliate you have an advantage because you can use various other techniques to get referrals that your counterparts may not be using. So getting referrals is still very feasible and lucrative even in so called saturated markets.

In terms of You data I agree. Point blank they need more ads and let’s hope they get them.

By the way because you were so informative I went ahead and clicked on your name and checked your site http://www.missmoneyhunter.com. (Hint Hint to all your commentors that want to get your self promotion on. Add value and people will visit your website without you shouting visit my affiliate link. ;) )

I did some skimming and you have a great site! Needless to say, I’ll be hanging out at your site more and learning as much as possible. I’m sure I’ll be signing up for many of the programs you recommend. So expect to see your downline numbers go up in many of your programs. lol I’m glad Phil put you on to my little hole in the wall. He’s a great guy that I learn from as well. It’s just nice to be part of a community where we all can learn and make money together. Wouldn’t it be great if the whole internet was like this? Sorry I got sappy there. But I really appreciate learning about great resources and opportunities from others. Thanks again and I hope to see more of your comments here.

Glad I was able to help you make a little change with my Amazon recommendation. I have a habit of doing that for folks on occasion. lol

    Hi Joanne,

Did you read the article above and watch the video? I think I’ve already made it very clear it is a legitimate company. It’s been around since 2007. Please read the article and actually visit the site. Thanks

I would like to know if this program is elegible for no US resident, because from what i have seen of many websites they promise that all of their websites is eligable for all the people around the world and then we you pay the money you come to discover that you are not allowed because you are not a US resident which is after you have paid your money and they wont give your money back

    Hi Zuwena,

As stated above, this company is open to people outside the U.S. But if you want to verify this, feel free to visit their site and contact them directly. You can notify them of where you live and if they would send you a check if you worked for the company. Hope this helps.

    Hey Mary Ann,

Thanks. Here’s how easy to tell if a company is a scam or misrepresenting what they’re offering you.

    1. There is funny feeling inside of you that makes you feel uneasy and question this opportunity.
    2. You’re asking yourself, “If this was so easy and great opportunity, wouldn’t everyone be doing it?” “Why are leaving their homes and dealing with long commutes to make the same type of money?”

If you’re experiencing this, then you already know this company is probably a scam. But how I determine if a company is a scam is by following the steps in my scam video:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/scams I’m sure it will help you too.

Take care. By the way my personal recommendations for legit companies can be found here:

Yawn, and the hating continues. Comments are held into moderation until I get to them. What you saw was your comment in moderation. It was never live. There is a message that states this when you post a comment. But apparently you failed to read that. Besides running this blog, I do have another life. So no your comment wasn’t deleted. But if it was it would be my right as the blog owner to delete any comment I deemed to be disrespectful, self serving, annoying, hateful, inaccurate, etc. Unlike many of the other sites out there that let anything fly that add nothing but negativity I choose to throw the trash out. If that makes me a censor, so be it. Leave the blog and don’t let the virtual door hit you on the way out.

Fortunately for you, I’m in a good mood today and why your comments are still here for the world to see the type of stuff I have to deal with on occassion. lol

In any event, the answer to your question regarding the ads is that it will vary depending on how many advertisers they get and how many members are clicking. I don’t have exact numbers. All i know from experience is that premium members get more ads. But if you need exact numbers feel free to visit their site directly and ask them these questions. As stated in the article above you can’t make a living off this especially just with the clicking ads alone. But for folks that aren’t making any money searching for work at home jobs, this may be an option to make a little money in ADDITION to other smaller streams of income.

Hope this helps. Well I’ll be signing off. Apparently I have more people that I need to go rip off as you put it. Although I think a lot of the people on this page: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/scams would beg to differ. Take care Nick. I can’t say I’ll be approving any more of your comments. But at the very least I answered your question and allowed you to get your shots in. Enjoy.

    Hi Shawna718,

I guess it comes with the territory. I got another one today. I guess everyone had a bowl of courage and hateorade this week. In any event, glad I can inspire you to get your referrals up.

It\’s totally achievable. All I did was share my story and provide proof and let folks make their own choice after that.

In terms of your question, I\’ve been at this since the early 90\’s when I was still in H.S. I was always online trying to figure out how to make money. But my sites are about 6-10 years old.
I believe wahns was started in 2003 and wahc in 2000. But the blog didn\’t really start picking up until the last year or two which isn\’t a coincidence because invested in some blogging courses. When I make money I always try to invest some of that back into my education because it translates right back into money.

So I don\’t just talk the talk, I walk the walk when it comes to this stuff. I spend a small fortune every year of online courses. Wish I would have done that in the early 90s I would\’ve been rich by now. lol

Enjoy the rest of your weekend too!

ClixSense looks like it’s going to work out very nicely for me. Even though my schedule is jammed packed as it is, I’m sure I’ll be able to squeeze in quality time to rack up some bucks with ClixSense!

    @Eddy Salomon:

I totally agree with you, Eddy, on folks working together to help each other, helping people learn, etc. I see a lot of “everyone out for themselves” in GPT/PTC/PTR but I see a lot of community activity pulling together too & working together to resolve problems, I just think it all goes so much better when people do work together.

And yes, you’re right, there are still a lot of folks out there untapped and not signed up with even some of the oldest problems – I had a nice little surprise at MatrixMails when I dropped by the other day – thanks!

I think what is frustrating for me is I know people personally – friends that have been laid off/let go in this economy, many others – that could really use a lot of the resources you and I and Phil and many others write about every day, and so many just won’t even look at those resources. I have solved that issue a little by putting together a “quick list” of sites for those who don’t want to sift thru the blog (and am about to publicize that more on the blog) but there are still so many that all these resources – especially yours in the more “work” arena – could help that don’t look at it because it’s “online”. I think that issue is getting better though.

Your blog is such a joy! And I am nowhere near reading everything I want to here, getting to various things as I can. You and Phil both crack me up but I have already learned much from both of you, keep up the fabulous work you do! :)

Totally agree with your MissMoneyHunter, the world would be a better place if everyone realized that we’re in this together. There is more than enough for everyone if we all worked together. It’s not rocket science. lol

You’re welcome for the referral on MatrixMails. You provided some great value in your comments a while ago and naturally I clicked on your name and checked out your site. (Note to spammers: That’s how you get people to come to your site. Don’t just slap on your website and say visit my site because I have a way to make you money. You know who you are! ;) )

In any event, I hear your frustration about enlightening folks on these different options. People don’t understand the work at home industry is very different than the regular job market. Landing a work at home job is like trying to win the lotto. But I think if you’ve never actually tried landing a job in this industry you assume it will be easy. So that’s why considering something like clixsense just seems like a waste of time. But what I have found is those people come around in time and then appreciate the work that you, phil and I are trying to do.

In any event, great talking to someone that goes through this. lol

Hrumph! I thought there was a comment in here that mentioned how most PTC sites pay 0.01 cents, which caught me off guard. I just thought that may have been a typo, and that they meant $0.01 USD (I know some PTC sites pay a fraction of a penny, esp. for referrals, but the majority of legit ones pay about 1 cent). But then I happened to get an add in ClixSense from a Work-At-Home woman that listed her favorite “PTC” sites, and one of them was SchoolBusCash which listed an extremely low payout level (I think it’s $2 instead of the $10 that ClixSense is looking for). Using the multiple-stream philosophy, I decided to give it a try.

Little did I realize what I got myself into (no, not a scam, but perhaps more hassle than it’s worth). By signing up, I was just introduced to the world of PTP (Paid-To-Promote), I guess what you’d consider to be a sub-division of PTC sites like ClixSense. With these sites, you do indeed get paid a fraction of a cent for each page that you go to for a specified amount of time (usually between 5 to 15 sec. for a pay rate of 0.02 to 0.1 cents). However, you are basically going to other people’s sites that have other PTP ads on them. And when you visit the other person’s site, they also get paid (but this time the fraction of a cent is 0.001 or less).

I am very much a newbie when it comes to PTP sites; hence the reason why I’m not sure whether this is a good avenue to pursue. One of the things I didn’t realize is that they also mentioned they had a PTR (Paid To Read (E-mail)), and again I was basing it on other PTR sites I’m with. But again, the e-mails aren’t real ads; rather they are links to other PTP pages where you get a fraction of a cent to view. Because of that, my inbox is now getting swamped by these e-mails (~100 messages per day!), which would take me all day to go through and view each link in all of the messages.

There may be something to this PTP game, but as of yet I fail to see making anything from it. Maybe someone that has had more experiences with these can chime in. But to me, although multiple stream may lead to a river, how long would it take to fill the ocean from a dripping faucet? I’d rather do the penny PTC sites where you can actually see usable profits.

  42. Eddy Salomon said on August 3rd, 2009 at 4:35 pm

Good to hear from you again Larry!

Thanks for sharing your experience with this PTP site. I have been hearing about these type of opportunities but based on my research I’ve avoided them. They’ve been been implied to be a ponzi scheme that isn’t sustainable. I applaud that you ran with the multiple streams of income mantra. But the other mantra I always pump is to do your research before joining anything. That’s sort of the reason I stated in the article, please don’t sign up for every PTC website. Always do your research. When you’re clicking on those ads, you’re going to be inundated with tons of various work at home opportunities. Usually I ignore them. Sometimes there may be one or two that catch my eye. But I never assume that they’re legitimate until I follow the steps in my scam video: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/scams I can’t tell you how many of these PTC I’ve avoided just by doing that.

So yes it’s definitely good to explore multiple options but always do your research. I would also set up a second email for non-traditional work at home opportunities just in case one of them turns out to be a spammer. If you take these measures you can avoid some of the observations you made above. At the end of the day, this was a great lesson for you. You seem to have taken with stride and not allowed it to jade you. Too often people run into similar issues and all of sudden everything dealing with work at home is a scam now. In any event, I appreciate you sharing this with us. I’m sure others will be able to learn from this experience. Continue to keep me posted Larry!

    Eddy,

Hey! Congrats on the clixsense position! Can you say “FIFTY-NINE? Wow! I watch you climb, I’m sooooooooooo down at the bottom of the ladder, but I”m holding it steady for you! ;) Hey, I figured follow the Guru, eh? :) I gotta say, I like clixsense, and I’m thinking about upgrading, and like you…just wish they had pay pal. I’m with neobux, wordlinx, Hit4pay, deals4cash, and inbox.

Ok, so…This come to the next part….I’m slow…I saw that referrals are the key. On one of my social networking sites Yuwie.com (awesome awesome site!!!) I came across several referral programs. I ended up with Trafficnet.com for referrals at the rate of 25 for less than $10 a month. I’ll update if they deliver as promised. There are a few other good sites that have referral programs, being good for the affiliate programs. BuyRef.com, TargetRefs.com, dowlineRefs.com, and ProgramRefs.com. I found a great PTC I just joined and I’ll update later on that one, it is TreasureTrooper.com. I just joined a few of these to “test the waters” to see just what they would do, and if they were something I wanted to continue. Hey, If PTCs were men……… ;)

Oh! My article payments come in every few days at $27 sometimes $37 dollars!! Turk is something else! I joined Text.com from the money I invested in HomeJobStop.com and I rated a 4 star (out of 5) with my entrance essay article to the site!! This site gives you an opportunity to write for individuals and companies based on your work quality (Star rating) and some are offering over $5 for an article! Jeeeeesh, and Lord knows I love to write!

Anyway, I thought that I would peek in a put it all on one reply! I saw that Veronica, one of your posters was looking for Medical Transciptionist work. She needs to know about the HomeJobStop.com. It is only $18 a year’s subscription, I saw a couple of medical billing and medical transciptionist jobs on it. This site is some serious stuff! They really have it all!!!

Yeah, well…I’ve had to rein in some of my online sidework to get back into the school work, but as soon as I click off my course page…it’s all about the money! I just treat it as “study hall”!! ;)

Keep up the work here Eddy, I like checking in with you and reading your blog. I’m not through looking at everything, and I might be laxed in posting here and there, but take a note here… I will one day be eye-to-eye and toe-to-toe with ya in these sites!

Thank you for the hard work you do for us Eddy, Geeeesh! I wish I could spend all day directing traffic to you! (I could be like … one of those dancing traffic cops…or a rent-a-cop……..maybe something like hiphoptraccifcop.com!) :)

Well, you know it’s a dog-eat-dog world out there in Internet marketing, so if you build it…they will come eh?

Peace and Love….and God Bless ya hun! -Liz

You’re just on a roll! You go girl! Writing is definitely a great way to make money. It’s one of the work at home jobs that is consistent because of the nature of the web which requires new content on everything you can think of. Keep up the good work. Just be sure to research all the companies you’re joining. http://www.GoHomeJobStop.com is definitely one of our trusted resource and why we wrote an article and created a video about them:
    http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2008/01/03/homestopjobcom-review-scam-or-the-real-deal/
They’re a great membership based site for those that want to avoid the ads that most of the other free resources like my own site ( http://www.workathomecareers.com ) use to sponsor our efforts.

In any event, keep us posted. You should serve as an inspiration to all folks struggling to find work at home jobs. If you step out your comfort zone and try different things you can succeed.

    Hi Eddy

I’m really glad I have found your site after a general Google search, Gawd bless ‘em lol. I have registered with ClixSense and upgraded to Premium but I will probably have to wait for some cash as 1) I am usually unlucky with these things and 2) I live in England and no doubt a cheque (check) will take an age to get here. That said though, I am inpressed with this program and will persevere with it regardless. I have one question for you; I notice that the ads repeat themselves rather a lot and when I click onto them for the 30secs a time the 1 cents is added on to my account, so does it matter if I click on the same ad more than once? I take it this is unlimited, so long as I stay on the site for 30secs? I wish there were more British sites because, even if I like something I can’t buy it lol. Never mnd! Keep up the good work. I really love your site and your honesty. Good luck in all you do.

    Hi Jane,

    Glad you found us too!
In terms of the ad repeating themselves, that’s normal because advertisers know that Clixsense gets new members all the time. So although an advertisers are aware that you may be viewing their ads several time and not take any action. But some will eventually take action or at the very least they will be reaching new members that have not seen their ads. So don’t worry about it you’re still getting credited for these ads. Good question though.

In any event, thanks for the continued support. I appreciate it.
By the way you may want to read the following article to help you make more money with clixsense:

    Hi Eddy

Many thanks for your response to my comment about Clixsense. I haven’t been using it lately because I have decided to set up my own blog via Wordpress and followed the brilliant videos from http://www.becomeablogger.com. Hope you don’t mind me plugging this site as I actually saw a link on here lol.

I do genuinely want to advise and help people as regards unemployment and it would be great if they could help me, not necessarily with homeworking but anything regarding training or jobs in my area of Cumbria in England. However, is there a way to increase traffic to my wordpress blog for free and is there any legitimate way of me making money from my blog?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Eddy.

    You’re welcome Jane.

In terms of promoting your blog, one of the best ways is to comment on blogs that are already established in your industry and provide good feedback and comments.
So if people are talking about horror stories of collecting unemployment benefits because their former boss was a tool, you might want to chime in with a comment expressing
your feelings about the situation and provide them with a link to a government resource or advocacy group. Usually when you provide good comments without a lot of or any self promotion, people naturally will click on your name in the comment which is automatically turned into a link back to whatever site you’ve entered when commenting.

You can get a lot of traffic just by being useful in that way. So blog commenting done in that manner will help you a lot. The worst thing you can do is say something like,
yeah I agree with the author now go visit my url. Or I have a better solution, go visit my url, etc. Blog commenting is subtle marketing. Bloggers all know that you want to promote yourself but there is a proper etiquette in doing so. So that’s one technique.

Ultimately you should invest in a training course to help you learn about this stuff so you stay focused on the best solutions to drive traffic to your blog.
That’s what I’ve done and it’s helped me tremendously. Since you’re interested in blogging the folks that run Become A Blogger have a great Blog Master Mind course I have taken which has made me into a pretty decent blogger. lol
    http://www.entrepreneurs-journey.com/go.php?offer=etheod4980&pid=1

So you might want to look into that. But blog comments are a great way to start because you can piggy back off blogs that already have great traffic. Good luck.

So you get 1 penny for every 30 second ad you view?

So lets see what kind of time investment I have to make just to score $10.

    1 cent every 30 seconds.
    2 cents every minute.
    $1.20 an hour.
    8.3 hours to make $10.

    Hold on, not there yet.

$3 check processing fee so to net $10 I have to earn $13. So that is another 2.5 hours.

So to net $10 I have to invest a total of 10.8 hours of time.

    lol

    Hey Ken,

Thanks for chiming in and the great math break down. But you’re pretty much stating the obvious & what I’ve already pointed out in the article which was as follows:

” …What the hell am I suppose to do with .01 cent?” Well a better question is, how much are you getting paid for clicking on ads and searching for work at home jobs right now?….I’m going to go out on a limb and make a prediction. My crystal ball tells me you’re currently earning a big fat nada, zilch, 0 clicking on ads and searching for work at home jobs!

…. if you’re fine with not making money for something you already do, then you should stop reading this article.

…But if you couple it with multiple opportunities such as surveys, get paid to try offers, get paid to read emails, a traditional work at home job, etc. Guess what? You’re starting to make some real money now. “

I think what certain folks fail to realize when they snicker and laugh at these opportunities is that landing a traditional work at home job can be as difficult as hitting the lotto. Folks that are newly unemployed or laid off assume that the work at home industry is going to be just like the offline industry they just came from. You assume that whatever skill set that was making you $20-$50 per hour out there is going to translate to the same salary in the work at home industry. But once you’re out here searching for a few weeks which then turns into months and some cases years, you start to have a better appreciation for companies like clixsense that pay you some money now.

However I know it’s hard to grasp that concept unless you’ve walked in the same shoes as us work at home seekers that have been through it. I guess it like the saying goes, some people see the glass half empty while others will see it as half full. Fortunately a lot of the folks that frequent this blog are the ones that tend to share a more optimistic view. I was one of them. When I first got in this industry I was making a few cents reading paid emails. My friends and family members all laughed at me. They were like what are you going to do with that? I said not much now. But at least this is proof that I can make money from home. Years later I’m here working at home full time earning a 6 figure income, helping people avoid scams, providing them with various options, making them laugh and giving folks a little hope that they can share my same experience.

The purpose of this blog is to give people various options. That’s why I stated in the article:
“If this opportunity isn’t your cup of tea and you prefer a “real” work at home job, then visit my work at home companies or work at home guide page. Either way your boy has you covered. Just pick the opportunities that are right for you.”

This way folks like you that may think clixsense is a joke can just ignore this opportunity and focus on traditional jobs. As I said, you have options either way. So I’m not really sure what the motive behind the comment was. I would hope it wasn’t to rain on the parade of work at home seekers who haven’t made a dime with their current efforts that are happy to make some money. Sometimes it’s hard to tell what someone’s intentions are in text. So I’m just going to chalk this up to you just sharing your opinion. Perhaps this post gave you a great opportunity to dust off the old calculator & re-iterate my points but in a numbers format to help people that may process the information better that way. Either way, I do appreciate you taking the time to provide the information. I’m sure some folks will get some value out of it.

At the end of the day, the options are there for folks and as I’ve always stated, it’s ultimately up to the individual to decide what’s best for them. I’ll personally always take making some money over none any day. But I’m just wacky like that. lol Thanks again Ken.

    Very well said Eddy.

I am one to be thankful for the little things. And am a firm believer that appreciating a few pennies here and there will open up opportunities to receive much increase. So, that makes me just as wacky as you are … and I don”t mind it one bit! Lol

Two thumbs way up for Clixsense! It is one of my fave programs.

There is something that Ken is not getting about clixsense. People that cannot spend money for advertising are able to spend time instead, and use their clixsense income to advertise their website ON clixsense! The possible income from new viewers to my website FAR outweighs the few pennies I can earn from Clixsense. Also in the case of Clixsense, it really is a big improvement to become a premium member. They have a lot more ads to view so it is easier to get back the initial investment. I am making this opportunity work for me! There are many other ways to earn money online if you just use your brain and follow good advice, like I have so often found HERE. =0)

That being said, I know folks that have taken the plunge with clixsense and are making money especially when applying what I taught in the following article:

Do you know anything about this?

Try accessing the site from another friend’s computer to see if it’s really not available in your country. If you experience the same problem, the there isn’t much you can do about it. Just visit my international work at home page and try some other way to make money from your country:

I had chimed in about this site earlier in the summer, shortly after I had paid my $10 to become a member. I thought I’d relate how it’s been going a half-year later. I currently show $18.50 in my account, so I’ve almost doubled my investment. And I actually would have, except that I’ve used $2 in ad-campaigns for other sites. Though I haven’t actually been paid yet, the reason is that I bumped up the payout level to $20 for myself; otherwise I would’ve received my first check already. Also, all of the earnings that I’ve made so far has been based solely on my own clicks… So far I don’t have any referrals, but then again, I haven’t actively worked on promoting this site to gain referrals. Seeing how referrals help on other sites, I can just imagine the earnings I could get were I to get some active ones under my belt. If I ever get my own website, I’d probably get enough to pay for my investment, then use the remaining money in advertising of my own web-site. But even just doing the ad-clicks, I think the $10 was worth the investment, and I hope to continue using this site in future years to come.

    Hello all,

I’d like to share my recent ClixSense experience if I may.

I joined in August this year and fell madly in love with the program. I’d been doing pretty good with it. But unfortunately, due to multiple members in my downline deciding to apparently violate the program’s registration policy, my what used to be over 500 downline members have been reduced to barely over 200 … ouch, that does hurt :(

ClixSense support has been extremely courteous and helpful in explaining to me what had happened and why the advertiser integrity policy had to be upheld and eliminating the “bad seed” memberships responsible for the registration violation was necessary.

As an advertiser myself with the program, I totally understood why ClixSense did what they had to do because their integrity covers me as well. I even expressed my appreciation for the measures taken to undo the unacceptable activity within my downline.

Overall, I guess it’s one of those thingies where you’ll get the good with the bad … those that will try to be wise guys or gals.

Nonetheless, I still love ClixSense because it is a great program. I will continue plugging away at it. I’m confident my downline will get back up there and beyond!

Hopefully none of you all will experience this unfortunate situation.

    Callie,

I just logged in yesterday and noticed the same thing. I applaud the spirit of why they did this. But I think they dropped the ball by not emailing us regarding the audit they conducted. I emailed support as well and they provided a reasonable explanation as to their action. But they failed to provide a good explanation as to why an email wasn’t sent out. So hopefully if there are any major events like this again in the future we’ll get an email. From what I understand they’re conducting daily audits now so we shouldn’t experience such drastic drops. Thanks for chiming in because I would have never known about this which is basically the point of my rant. lol

That being said, I still think the company is great and will continue to work with them.

    Ella,

Unfortunately, unless you pre-screen each of your referrals or can guarantee no one in your downline will try to cheat the system … no, you can’t avoid it.

However, since my post above I’ve learned that ClixSense is taking certain measures in an attempt to put a stop to the originators of the membership violation. So hopefully their efforts will be aggressive enough to make a significant difference.

    Keeping my fingers crossed!

I’ve already established that you’re not going to live off clixsense. But that’s .10 cents a day that most people don’t make online. Today it’s only .10 cents a day, then next thing you know you’re earning hundreds of dollars per day. Because maybe this opportunity opened your eyes to others. That’s pretty much how I started. The point is if you’re not making money with your current efforts, give something new a try then multiply your efforts.

  75. Larry said on January 4th, 2010 at 11:04 am

True, you may not get 10 cents a days. But even if you were to get 4 clicks (ie 4 cents) a day (which seemed average when I wasn’t a premium member), it would take less than a year (250 days) to earn the minimum $10. And that’s for less than 5-minutes a day. I’ve seen people stop and pick up that “lucky penny” off of the sidewalk just for that one cent; imagine if you’d find one lying there every day, let alone four of them! Yeah, don’t expect to make a living off of this site, rather think of it as a little something extra. If you do get your home-based business setup, then this becomes a great way to advertise your site; use your earnings for advertisement for “free” ads. BTW, as of the beginning of the year, I’m awaiting my first check after having my account cashed-out after $20! Yippee!

Great site you have here. Went to clixsense first, checked it out, then typed in clixsense scam and found your site. Went back to clixsense and joined free. I know its not much, but those pennies add up for extra money to save or whatever. My wife has a lot of time at home when I am at work in the evening. I imagine she would like to do this since she has the time. How often do you get new ads to click on a free membership do you know? and……if you were to go to premium, do you get your money back from clicking ads, or I should ask, is it worth it? I use to have adsense with google and they disabled my account for no apparent reason. I love what you are doing here. I agree with your recent coment, it is NOT a job, but it is a cool way to earn a couple more dollars.

So i joined clixsense, i will not be investing in a upgraded membership. I have read that after you upgrade you get like 500 ads so you get about 5 dollars immediatly back on your 10 dollar investment. Then the ads go back to normal, which is about 10-15 ads a day if you continuesly check throughout the day. I would reccomend upgrading IF you are going to try to recruit people, via banners and links to up your referal income. The only real drawback to this site is the awful 3 dollar check prosessing fee. So if you do decide to join clixsense then make sure you change your withdrawl amount to 20 dollars. so you dont pay the fee again and again, and if your making good money increase it even more. Without referals and just clicking everyday you will make 10-15c a day. $36.50-$54.75 a year. If you want to make more and make it more serious upgrade. For me personally, im just gonna add it to one of the many sites and just take it for what it is without investing in it. Get in my clicks everyday like i do with every other site and get what ever they give me without wasting to much time on it. I like sites like these because you dont have to do anything but click and when you get 20+ of them going all at once it rains small checks for like a month or two and then you remember why you joined and clicked everyday. You can still earn referal cash without upgrading, thats a huge plus as well!

Here’s a better question. How much money are you making right now clicking on the ads that you do or any money online? If it’s more than the change in your couch, please carry on. You’re doing better than most. But like I said above, if this isn’t for you, you can always focus on traditional jobs: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/jobs

There are a lot of folks that can appreciate earning some type of money at home coupled with other opportunities than not making any.
In any event, thanks for sharing your opinion.

  93. Larry said on March 8th, 2010 at 10:02 am

Samuel, no the ads range between 1 cent and 5 dollars (although I think the highest I’ve ever seen has been 10-cents). That is a good catch because there are a lot of PTC sites that have their clicks worth only a few fractions of a cent. With those sites it is very difficult to make any money without any references, esp. if the payout threshold is even a “low” $5. With those sites, either join when you have created a network of people or a good website to draw in new referrals. Or like Eddy said, just have the mindset that although it isn’t much money, it still is more than what you’d get surfing the web on your own (or even watching ads on TV).

One more thing to note that your question raised…. When you check out PTC sites and what they pay to view ads, keep in mind that the less you get usually correlates to the value of the product. On the low end you have sites like TheClickers that offer a fraction of a cent per view. Although they may show more ads per day, you still won’t make much money, and the products being advertised tend to be lower quality. You end up seeing many ads for other PTC sites and fewer ads for sites with physical products for sale. Because of this, these sites tend to act more like traffic exchanges rather than true sites to make any serious money. On the upper end of the spectrum you have PTC sites like YouData (see Eddy’s article: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2009/05/11/get-paid-to-view-ads-youdatacom/). There they pay multiples of a cent (I think the lowest is 10 cents per view), so you get more money, but along with the higher view-rates, there are some other differences too. The number of ads is usually less (I tend to average about 1 per week, though from reading their site I think I’m just not in the right demographic to really earn much from them), and the value of the products / sites tend to be higher as well. The websites YouData directs me to usually are something that I find interesting and am more likely to make a purchase. ClixSense is a good middle-ground site. You do get a lot of ads for other PTC sites and as such many people use it more like a traffic exchange, using their earnings to promote their own referral links. But you can also get more serious advertisers as well that will offer an actual item for sale.
