So what is the mainstream of who they want for the bulk of the surveys. I too have spent a great deal of time and energy going thorugh surveys only to be disqualified for one reason or another. I realize it is because I am not the right profile of who they want for their survey. One of the things I have felt is that if I do not have young children I do not fit in. I have children 28 and 30, but I have grandchildren, so that should put me in the know about children's products and needs. However, they don't ask or consider that. Other than the childrent thing, what other type of profile do yu think it most common for them to see out? I can become a chameleon if need be.

You're welcome. Pineconeresearch is a fine company to take surveys. But they're annoying in respects to:

1. Providing a way to join their panel without jumping through hoops and hunting down a sign up link.
2. An actual referral program so you can invite anyone and not just people you know.

Other than those two annoyances, it's a great company. I've consistently made money with them when I actually took
their surveys. They just rub me the wrong way because of the stupid things I mentioned above. www.GoMySurvey.com is a company that is well known
and established and they don't have any of these stupid policies. Come to think of it, none of the great and legit survey companies have these rules. I just don't understand
their logic. Even when I'v tried to reach out to them, they just respond back with canned messages. Arrrggg. lol

But still highly recommended if you can hunt down a link. lol

Great points Nancy. Don't get me started on pineconeresearch. lol

At the end of the day, isn't it nice that we all can have a discussion with various points of views without resorting to elementary school behavior like name calling, screaming, etc. Wouldn't the world be a better place if folks could do this in politics and religion?

Hi Mamie,

You didn't cause any trouble neither did Michael. It was just a discussion where opinions were shared in a respectful and that's always a good thing. If you want to see trouble, try visiting some of the other blogs and forums and read some of the comments shot around there.

In any event, in terms of your question. Blogging and affiliate marketing can go hand and hand. Blogging is basically where a person writes articles about a given subject matter. If they're doing it right they're blogging about something they have a passion for, where they can actually share valuable insight and information to people who might be reading it. An affiliate marketer uses different mediums to connect people that have desire with products, services or information that they get paid to share with others. So an affiliate marketer may be using Google's Adwords program where they pay a certain amount per click so that if someone searches for Red shoes in google, they're ad shows up. You click the ad and if you buy something via that affiliates website, they get a commission. They could also be placing ads in classifieds, etc and a whole bunch of other techniques covered by sites like www.GoWealthyAffiliate.com or you can try to hunt down on the web. The free affiliate course I provided was just another method.

Now a blogger can also be an affiliate marketer. Instead of using something like adwords, or get paid to click sites, they'll write articles on their blog where they may review a product that they're affiliated with and describe the good and bad of that product. They'll link to that product and if the reader takes some type of action like the ones descirbed in my free affiliate article, the blogger/affiliate gets paid.

So on my site I've reviewed a company like Clix sense. I broke down all the good and bad points about the company. If you like what you read you signed up and I got a commission. If not, I didn't but at the very least I helped you make a decision that was best for you. So that's how blogging and affiliate marketing can go hand to hand. My passion is making money online. So I basically blog about the things I fine. Some of them I'm an affiliate of and some I'm not. I try to balance providing you good value and information and some promotion. But even with my promotional stuff I always try to keep it real with people so no one signs up for anything I recommend under false pretenses. Unfortunately not every blogger follows this philosophy. There are a lot of flogs out there (Fake blogs). The people that run these sites are just affiliates that will promote anything that pays them the most money. They'll write up fake reviews and not provide real insight about a given company because all they care about is making their money. There are a lot of folks making money like this but they're burning a lot of bridges in the process and giving folks like me a bad name. Long term they won't succeed. In fact google has gone after a lot of these sites. But that's just a side note.

At the end of the day, being an affiliate or blogger takes just as much work and training. They both make great money when done properly. But you need to have the right type of personality to do either which is why I wrote the top 10 reasons to avoid affiliate marketing: www.workathomenoscams.com/top10

Hope this helps. Take care.

I understand why Michael responded the way he does. There have been times when I have comleted the survey and they have not awarded me because supposedly they got all the responses they needed. There have been times when I have been asked many questions on a convoluted survey only to be disqualified 20 minutes into it. Some survey sites have terrible customer service. Then there was the Pinecone survey site that thought we were imbeciles and wantedhad a survey asking us if we wanted a sweepstakes entry and $3.00, Those of us who did not except the terms were kicked out of Pinecone.
Remember these companies spend so much money on advertising and are actually saving money from the pittance they give us. I think we should remember that brand companies will do and say what they need to sell the product irregardless of whether it is a quality product. The countless recalling of inferior/harmful products is testament to that. They, in essence have a license to steal.

Everyone,

I just want to say thank you to all of you for your suggestions and opinions. I've read everything and the bottom line it is my decision, right? Michael, I appreciate your honesty and to be honest that was something that I had thought about doing, but could just never bring myself to do it....it is a moral thing......(smile). I never meant to cause any trouble, I am a newbie, I guess, and I was trying to get a little more insight on this. Now to change the subject, Eddy, I don't think I am dumb or even slow, but I just can't quite grasp a full understanding of the whole affiliate marketing.....and yes I have read the free course you posted(thanks for the information!!!), but I still don't quite follow.....which would be easier? Blogging? or Affiliate Marketing?

Hey Veronica,

I'm glad I wasn't the only immature teenager regarding the Ethical Hacker / Penetration Tester job. I damn near spit my drink out when I stumbled across that job. lol By the way, the fact you're bilingual is a big help. I often see
tutoring and customer service jobs. Be sure to try the companies page for the customer service stuff:
www.workathomenoscams.com/companies

In terms of hiring you, I'm not really in need of bilingual person for my needs. But thanks for the offer. However I'm always looking for people that know how to do article marketing and link building. It's a skill all website owners always need and want. That's hint a folks. ;)

Hey Michael,

No need for apologies. I definitely appreciate you sharing your tip. This blog isn't about flaming people or being negative. You don't even know how much of that crap I delete off here so it doesn't pollute the environment we want here. I just wanted to make it clear to Mamie and others this practice isn't approved by the survey company. But it's something people should try if they feel comfortable with it. I just wanted to bring to light the potential consequences. By the way I don't think Phil was flaming you. He was just expressing himself and he wasn't being disrespectful which is what we value here. Everyone can have different opinions. But I just won't tolerate name calling and disrespecting each other. There are enough forums, blogs, and TV shows that do that. After all Phil even stated its information he would pass along but personally wouldn't try.

So thanks again Michael. No feathers were being ruffled. Just wanted to give the flip side of the recommendation you made.
