I hear you on the desperation. That's why I'm so against advertising on job boards. It's taking advantage of a level of deperation some people have. That people are out of work and getting desperate is at least somewhat evidenced by the sheet volume of people come to your blogs and check on "Work at home" opportunities.

Deena,

I hear you. For some reason the internet has some jeidi mind trick over people. The nonsense that folks would never fall for in person, people eat up on the web. I think a lot of it just has to do with desperation which clouds your judgment. I know the times I've been scammed it was because I was dying to work at home and free myself from the man's tyranny. But nonetheless I take full responsibility for the actions. It was a lesson learned that lead to better things. I don't like blaming the victims in these situations but I understand your line of questioning.

P.S. Thanks. That Nigeria line had me rolling over here. lmao

LOl That's awesome! Did anyone accuse you of being a scammer and trying to put your ill gotten gains off on them? haha

I just wonder tho what really goes through the minds of people. Think... "Why would I get this money from them?". If you can't come up with a reason, you didn't enter a contest or sweepstakes, etc. It's probably a ploy of some sort. I know I dont just randomly send my profits out to people I don't know for no good reason. :-) As if I've just got so many fat wads of cash laying around and noplace to put it all..... (I wish) ;-)

I received in the mail an offer to work part time as a mystery shopper. First it came from a company called D.T.G. Operations a division of nevco - and I went to check the company out
and the company does exist. But when I read what they were offering a check fell out. Yes
they send me a check in the amout of $3,680.00 So I took and googled the name of the Bank and it does exist spoke with a Teller called Danielle who said the company exists and
that the check is no good. They are currently checking this out. Many people have already
called in to see if this was true. Not only did I call, and I live in Florida, also people from
Washington DC and New York and other states. So please be careful and don't get sucked into this. I wish there was more that could be done to get these people to stop getting innocent people who are just trying to make some money.
