Weekly Work At Home Recap 6-25-2010

Help Wanted

Happy Belated Father's Day!

I totally forgot my manners last week. Here I am part of the exclusive Daddy's club and I go ahead and take our national holiday for granted. I hope all the Dad's out there had a great day.

My family was kind enough to make a big production out of it by taking me to a nice fancy Caribbean dinner the Saturday before Father's Day. Then the following day I took my dad to the movies to see, Get Him To The Greek! The movie was spit out your soda and choke on your popcorn funny. It's highly recommended if you can deal with low brow and crass humor which is perfect for neanderthal like myself. lol

Later my family throw a get together at my house and we stuffed ourselves with some good food. My lovely wife also got me a new toy, literally. I've been begging for a toy helicopter to fly around the house and she finally relented and bought me one. The cool thing about it is that it shoots missiles which unfortunately I have lost. So my dog is safe for now. lol I must say it was the best Father's Day I've ever had. But you have to take that with a grain of salt as I've only had two.

What did you guys do to celebrate Father's Day?  By the way we were having a bit of a discussion on my Facebook fanpage about why Father's Day doesn't get the same type of love as Mother's day. We also discussed the whole capitalism aspect of these holidays and how they have lost their true meaning or are just made up to guilt us into spending money. See the discussion by clicking here. What are your thoughts about this?

In any event enough of the personal stuff. I just wanted to share a bit of my life with you because I feel we're cool like that. In any event, enjoy this week's lead recap.

Weekly Work At Home Recap 6/18/2010

ICS

TGIF Ya'll!

This week, I'm keeping it short and sweet.

First and foremost, Congrats to the Lakers! It was a hell of a series and they proved they were the better team. As a New Yorker this is probably the closest thing to winning NBA champion we'll see? Why because Lamar Odom and Ron Artest are from NY. LOL

Shout Outs

Today I want to highlight some comments from two people that have taken action on my advice and achieved success because of it. I figured I'd share it with you because I know sometimes you look at my success and may think it's unattainable or too far removed. But the following people are just like you. The great thing about these two people is they both followed different paths that was right for them.  I love that fact because this is what my blog is all about. Giving you different choices so you can make the decisions that are best for you. In any event read their stories below and gain some inspiration from it. Because after all these folks are just like you. The only thing that may be separating you from them is taking action.

New Stuff I'm Trying…

Big Phil put me on to a spanking new opportunity to make some easy money. I'm talking about almost swag buck easy. You get paid to take answer short and often silly polls. I'll have a review shortly. But Phil has been paid out many times already so I feel confident recommending it to you now. I've already earned $1.20 today with it. A few people from my facebook fanpage have already earned as well. So give it a shot. It's free and easy, just the way you like it. LOL Visit: InstantCashSweepstakes.com for more details and to sign up. If you enjoy that poll, you'll also enjoy the Swagbucks poll where you can earn $1 Swag Buck dollar every day of the week. So that's another easy money maker for all my swag buck users out there.

In any event, enjoy this week's lead recap.

Weekly Work At Home Recap 6/11/2010

Me and my princess in aruba.

Hello All,

I'm back in good old NY. I must say it was very hard to leave Aruba. Quite frankly, we were sad to come home. What can I say? Aruba is a beautiful island with a nice mix of people living together in harmony.  It's definitely now one of my top 3 islands. If you haven't visited Aruba, you should check it out. I'm confident you'll love it.  But I must warn you. You may not want to come back.

Here are some pictures of my trip:

(Me & Bee Heading to a Cliff, Me holding my princess in one hand and a cold one in another, Brianna heading to the beach, My life is good pose)

Hope you enjoyed the pics. Time to move on to my weekly babbling words of wisdom.

Copy Cat….

A lot of times people ask me how did I become so successful? Most of my loyal subscribers know that a great deal of it is because of mind set, education, taking action, hard work and persistence. It's a formula I'm constantly shoving down your throat because I know it works. However there is another little secret to my success I rarely mention but is just as vital. I'm a big copy cat.

Here's what I mean. There are always people who have far more knowledge and success than you in certain areas. A lot of time you find people who are envious of others in these situations. You and I know them as haters. They get angry when others are doing well around them.

Not me, when someone is doing better than I in a given area, my ears perk up. I want to listen to what they have to say. My goal is to learn as much as I can so I can try my best to achieve the same results if not better. I have no problems copying folks that are successful provided it's nothing shady.

That's why when I wanted to learn how to become a super affiliate marketer, I purchased courses, ebooks and learning material from folks that were doing better than me. Right now I'm in the process of trying to purchase a home. I'm heavily relying on my uncle-in-law for advice because he's a contractor that has purchased many homes. When I was growing up and played basketball,  I always tried to play the guys better than me because I knew that was the only way my game would improve. These are all examples of me being a copy cat in a good way.

My logic is why re-invent the wheel? If someone has found the formula to success then it only makes sense to model my behavior after them or learn from them. Now with that said, you should always add your own flavor to anyone you may model yourself after. For instance Coke and Pepsi are pretty much the same drink. But they both have variations to their drinks. You try to pass off a Coke to an avid Pepsi lover like my wife and she may spit that coke right in your face. (Oh yes her Pepsi senses are that serious. lol)  That slight difference can be huge to certain people.

So always keep that in mind when trying to mimic the success of others. Part of their success is based on their unique attribute. Be sure to bring yours to the equation.

Well now you know another one of the keys to my success. Hopefully you'll run with it instead of hate on it. lol

With that in mind, you may want to check out AOL's Meet the New Young Millionaire article. I read it and felt very inspired to push myself. Don't let the age of these millionaires deter you if you're older. See past that minor detail. Instead focus on the fact that these are just regular people that had simple ideas. But unlike most of us, they had the balls to back them up with action. As a result they've become very successful while others just dream or yammer about it.

Even if your aspirations aren't as grand as becoming a millionaire, identify something that you would like to achieve. Then find the people who have achieved this goal and try to mimic them.  After all you already know the results you've been getting doing it your way. What do you have to lose trying it another way? Your results may actually vary, for the better.

Let it marinate.

In any event, enjoy this week's lead recap.

Weekly Work At Home Recap 6/4/2010

Greetings from Aruba. Hope you had a great short work week.

I know what you're thinking. Why is this man working on his vacation? Trust me it's a question my wife asks every time we go away. lol But the great thing about being an affiliate marketer is that I can work anywhere there is an internet connection. The other thing to keep in mind is that I love what I do. So it's not actually work for me. How many people can actually say that about their jobs?

In any event, since this is a vacation I'll keep this short so I can get back to relaxing with my family. We're exhausted after a long jeep excursion of the island. We drove through some rocky terrain where I swore the jeep would flip over. My 2 year old daughter thought it was tons of fun and here I am a 6'4, 200+ lbs black man holding on for dear life.  Tsk, tsk. lol

Before I go, I just want to remind you again about the Wealthy Affiliate University price increase on June 7.  I know some of you have aspirations of being a successful affiliate marketer like yours truly traveling the world and making money while you're doing it. I always dreamt that I would be in this position and now after a lot of hard work, God's blessings and some great training, I'm living that dream. I'm not any more special than you. I breath the same air and bleed the same red blood you do. The only difference between you and I is that I believed enough in my dream to take action on it even when others thought I was crazy. When the going got tough, I kept plugging away. So if a regular dude from the Bronx was able to make all this happen why can't you?

If being the boss appeals to you and you think affiliate marketing is the path to that, I encourage you to take a look at the Wealthy Affiliate University before the price increase.  Even if affiliate marketing isn't your thing but you want to be your own boss, stop thinking about it. Be about it. Take action, invest in yourself and maybe one day you'll be able to take your family anywhere you want at the drop of a dime. I'm sure you would love that and I'm even more confident that your family deserves it. So make it happen Captain. Don't let a boss control your destiny if that's not what you want. Never stop working towards your goals even when it seems impossible. If I can beat the odds, so can you!

Alright, I've yammered enough and besides I think there is some fruity drink with my name on it. Please note that if you're a dude, it is only acceptable to consume these drinks on vacation abroad.  It's not a good look elsewhere. lol And while we're on vacation rules of engagement, I would like to publicly state speedos should be banned. I don't care if that's cool in Europe or your country. I really don't need to see your junk Dude. lol

Moving on, enjoy the leads.

Is American Consumer Opinion (Acop) A Scam?

I'm away in Aruba at the moment. (Yes another trip. As an affiliate marketer I work hard but play harder. lol) In any event, never fear, I have someone filling in for me for this week's useful and helpful content. The following is a guest post by my right hand gal Callie Boyd of SurveyFavs.com. Callie is also known as my VA (Virtual Assistant) and the Survey Queen as I playfully refer to her.  So enjoy the post! If you like what you'e read or have questions, be sure to post a comment below. See you soon!

Hey all!

Anyone that's been hangin' out here knows that I love free paid surveys.  I've even been called a Survey Queen. lol  After taking action by joining Eddy's Top 5 Paid Online Survey Websites, there was no stopping me!  I soon realized just how easy it was to be nicely rewarded for expressing my opinion.  I quickly turned 5 paid survey sites into what is now several that keep me busy, no doubt.  I do most of my VA work by day then transform myself into survey taking mode usually at night. Now don't worry, the transformation is nothing like Jekyll & Hyde or anything monstrous. lol Survey taking for me is relaxing and fun.

One of the first paid survey programs I joined after Eddy's top 5 was American Consumer Opinion (Acop).  It's owned and operated by Decision Analyst, Inc., a major international marketing research firm headquartered in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Acop is strictly legit and is rated A+ by the BBB.  It's one of the best and largest paid survey programs available. The program not only offers very good surveys, but product testing, a monthly cash drawing, and focus group invitations as well. Occasionally, there might be mail or telephone surveys offered, but generally most will be the popular web-based surveys. The surveys on average are about 10 minutes or so long and are usually simple to answer. Acop sends out routine screeners approximately every 6 weeks. For those who are not aware, screeners are very brief questionnaires to see if the panel member will pre-qualify for an upcoming Acop survey.  Acop rewards with a cash amount or sweepstakes entry.

Something for everyone!

I love the fact that Acop accepts memberships worldwide. Everyone's feedback is important. We all are consumers of products and services regardless to where we live. Acop certainly appreciates and recognizes this by offering their paid survey program to people from all over the world. International participants are welcomed!  The sign up page is user friendly with a simple "Choose Country" drop down menu displaying selections from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe and every other country in between.  Two thumbs way up for not leaving anyone out!

Hide & seek, where are the surveys?

Unlike some paid survey programs that post available surveys on the site via panel members' area, Acop does not do this. Whenever your demographics are a match for a survey, Acop will send you an email invitation to complete the survey. These emails are inclusive of important survey details such as screener/survey access link, length of survey, amount of response time you have to complete the survey, and a reference number.  Based on my personal Acop experience, I don't get a ton of survey invitations, but the ones I do get are of good quality and I sure do enjoy spending a few minutes taking it. The new product evaluations and product studies are great!  My kiddos have taken some too.  They love them as well.  :)

Show me the money!

When receiving a cash reward, the amount typically ranges in value from $2 to $50, per survey or focus group, depending upon the length of the questionnaire and the time it takes to complete it.  Not bad huh?  I certainly don't think so.   Once a cash out has been requested, US or Canadian panel members receive postal mailed checks.  Most international panel members will receive a cheque in their currency. For international panelists in countries that are unable to receive these types of cheques, an American Express gift cheque is sent to those who complete surveys or win the drawings.  The nearest American Express Foreign Exchange Office is involved to help streamline the process.  Further information about this can be found on Acop's FAQs page.

Here comes the con

Acop is without doubt one of my faves.  And although in my opinion it's a great paid survey program with plenty of "pros" on it's side, an existing con is the check option being the only method of payment at this time.  I am a PayPal gal all the way. But don't get me wrong, I'm so thankful for and very appreciative of every penny I earn online or off and am even more thankful when I actually receive it regardless to how or by what method taken to reach me.  With today's technology, I would be willing to bet top dollar that Acop will soon offer PayPal as an additional payment option just like MySurvey recently has.

The proof is in the pudding …

I am no different from anyone else when it comes to showing me proof of payment. I can spend an entire day telling you how wonderful Acop is, or any other paid survey company for that matter, but without confirmation of pay, many (if not all) of you would be like, "yeah, uh huh, sure Callie" lol  It's something how that skeptism seems to diminish when the "pudding" is put before us.  By the way, I happen to love pudding.  Chocolate and coconut cream are my faves … mmm, delish!  Ok, ok, we didn't come here to discuss that kind of pudding. lol  Let's focus on one of my payment checks from Acop:

So now, would I recommend Acop?  Absolutely!  They have quite a bit going for themselves:  Free worldwide membership. Good, quality surveys.  A+ BBB rating. And last but certainly not least … they do pay!

I hope you've enjoyed my review.  Happy surveying  ;)

Weekly Work At Home Recap 5/28/2010

Hello All,

I hope you had a great week. If not, never fear the long weekend is here. With that in mind and in observance of Memorial Day, I'll be skipping my random words of wisdom or ramblings of a mad man depending on how you view them.

To most people Memorial Day has been relegated to the official start of summer, a day off from work or a reason to fire up the barbecue and stuff your face with more meat than what was meant to be eaten by a human being in one sitting.

That's all cool but let's not forget the true meaning behind this day. You're able to sit back and enjoy your day off because of the brave men and woman who have sacrificed their lives in service of defending this nation.  So as you enjoy this long weekend with your family and friends, please take some time out to say a pray for the fallen soldiers and for those men and women who are still serving or have done their time to make your life better.

Take Care and be safe! Enjoy the leads below.  I'll speak to you in about a week or two. I'm off on another trip. It's good to be the boss. lol

P.S. Shout out to Swagbucks. I redeemed my two $300 Apple Gift Cards about two weeks ago. This week after being delayed two days in China, I received my 3g iPad.  For those of you who aren't a fan of my facebook fan page and missed the video of me unboxing it, click here to see it.

How I got my iPad was a perfect example of what I discussed last week regarding leveraging. Sure as a successful affiliate marketer I could buy as many iPads as I want. But instead I leveraged the usual internet searching I do and my ability to refer people to get my iPad for free. This was only possible because I didn't view Swagbucks as a waste of my time. I saw it as an opportunity that could be scaled up. That's just another example of how perception makes a huge difference. See how all this stuff ties together when you don't have a limited mindset? When you start to think outside the box society has put you in, there is a world of possibilities and it's not limited to gadgets.
