Links & ads you may click on this blog pay the bills & keep this site free for you. Thanks for supporting!
If you are anything like me, you probably jump at any chance of reducing your credit card bill. There are apps like Dosh that put some cash back in your pocket when you shop. You are probably wondering whether this is true, that’s why you are going through a couple of Dosh App reviews.
Well, we have scoured the internet to find the good, the bad and the ugly about the Dosh app. So, let’s get started!
What is Dosh?
Dosh found online at www.dosh.cash.com is a smartphone app that claims to give you cash back whenever you shop with your credit card at its participating stores. Dosh was founded by businessman Ryan Wuerch who is also behind MLM Company Solavei. The app was released in April, 2017.
How Does Dosh Cash Back Work?
You start by linking your credit or debit card to the app. The company has partnered with major brands, companies, merchants and hotels to help users get some money back whenever they take up the offers. So, when you make a purchase at these participating stores, you get back a percentage of the amount spent (up to 10%).
You’ll basically be saving money while shopping, spending a night in a hotel, eating out or even fueling. The app has partnered with some of the most popular companies like WalMart, Nike, Target, Hilton Hotel, etc.
They’ll deposit your cash-back to your Dosh Wallet. Once you have at least $25 saved up, you can send the money to your bank account, PayPal or donate it to charity.
Dosh Cash Back App Features
The app scans available offers from stores near you. It could be a hotel, fashion store, gas station or a supermarket. It appears the bigger the city you’re in the more the chances of getting some cash back through the app.
You’ll be receiving notifications of deals available near you. The notification will tell you who is offering the deal and how much you’ll save.
How Do I Join Dosh?
The app is available on the Appstore or the Play Store for free. All you have to do is download it on your phone and sign up. During sign up, you’ll have to verify your number. It has to be a US, non Vol-P number that you can verify straight away.
Then, you can link your debit or credit card. Once you’ve done that you’ll be able to see available offers from participating stores and merchants near you.
How Do I Make Money With Dosh?
Dosh is all about saving money rather than earning it. Every time you take up an offer within the app you’ll get a couple of bucks back. How much you make depends really on how much you spend. With Dosh, you’ll have to spend money to make money.
You can also make money taking surveys at SurveyJunkie.com as well. But if you want to make a full time or part time income from home instead of a few bucks here and there, check out My Top Work At Home Recommendation.
What We Like About Dosh
It’s simpler than the alternatives
Unlike other apps that pay you money like EBates, MobiSave, or Ibotta where you have to link an offer manually or scan a receipt, all you have to do with Dosh is link your credit or debit card. You don’t have to sweat through hundreds of instructions to get cash back.
Tons of ways to save
They claim to have partnered with thousands of stores, companies and hotels to choose from. So, the next time you score a hot date, you don’t have to worry much about your credit card bill the morning after.
Let's Cut The Crap!
Dosh App Complaints
If you're anything like me the idea of connecting your card with a company you don't know that well might give you the willies. But there are even other concerns and complaints people have with the Dosh app. So let's break them down.
No International Love
The app at the time of writing this review is only available in the United States. Actually, some users claim you’ll have to be in a big city to get offers. So, tough luck if you live nowhere near civilization.
Trouble linking cards
According to most of the negative reviews on Google Play, linking your credit card runs into issues. It appears you can’t use a card if it’s linked to any other website or app that offers similar services. One user claimed that they declined to link a card they were using on Yelp.
No BBB Rating
At the time of writing this review, the Better Business Bureau is yet to assign Dosh a rating. this might be a deal breaker for those of you who depend on an app's status with the BBB. But to be fair the app is pretty new so that may change soon.
Is Dosh Cash Safe?
So far, there are no serious red flags that suggest the app is not safe. No one has come forward claiming to have lost money while using the app. Also, the security sounds airtight if we choose to take their word for it. It’s also pretty easy to withdraw your money.
However, you’ll be laying everything on the line because they need your credit or debit card info to give you money. So, if you have trust issues, maybe you are better off using sites like SurveyJunkie.com, SwagBucks.com or FusionCash.com where you don’t need your credit card to make money.
At the end of the day Dosh only works if you spend money. It's not a way to actively make a full time or part time passive income. If that's what you're looking for then you may want to check out My Top Work At Home Recommendation.
