I've always been fascinated with the stock market. I loved the idea of buying something low and then selling it a higher price at the right time or right place. (This is known as arbitrage by the way.) It just seemed like a smarter way of earning money. But alas, I don't have the patience or analytic mind required to be successful at trading stocks. But there are a lot of other arbitrage opportunities available especially online. That's why to I'm writing this DS Domination review. We'll see if it's a viable way for you to make money buying low and selling high.
What is DS Domination?
In a nutshell DS Domination is a video training course about ebay arbitrage. You find product that are cheaper on Amazon.com or else where, then copy the description and list them on ebay for a higher price. If someone buys the product on ebay, then you go and buy it at Amazon and have the amazon seller ship it directly to the ebay buyer!
DSDomination.com also has a second way of earning money via their affiliate program. You get paid a commission for referring other people to this product. So even if you never did the whole ebay arbitrage thing, you can make money just promoting this product which apparently tons of people are doing judging by all the one sided DS Domination reviews I found trying to research this article. Arrggggg!!!
What do I like about DS Domination?
Easier than Drop Shipping
The DS part of this product is short for “drop shipping”. Drop shipping is basically when you're buying products at wholesale from a distributor and having the wholesaler shipping the product directly to your buyer for you. But usually it's hard to find good wholesalers that have products that people actually want, or they charge a high membership fee. Using the DS Domination method you're not paying anything upfront to work with a “drop shipping seller”. Furthermore you can easily see the ratings of Amazon sellers or only buy products that Amazon sells. So you avoid the risk of dealing with someone shady or paying a high drop seller membership fee.
Hassle Free
Some people literally have to store product in their home which can be a nightmare if you don't have the space or don't want your home to be a warehouse. Then there is the hassle of having to actually mail out the product which takes more time and energy. So when your business is set up like that it's less of passive income at that point. But using the DS Domination method, product shipping and storage is all handled by Amazon sellers. So you don't have to worry about stocking products in your home or going to your post office! It's like having an online shop without worrying about stocking physical products.
Concept works
In theory this does work. Capitalism is pretty much built on arbitrage and has been for many years. Aside from that I have personal experience with arbitrage selling online business services such as SEO and website design. My sister and other friends have made some decent side money doing arbitrage on Craigslist, eBay and Amazon. So it definitely does work if you know what you're doing and have the right products and profit margin.
So with that all said, is DS Domination all good? Of course not, there are definitely some areas of concerns that you must consider with this product and the techniques being taught.
DS Domination Complaints
If you try to actually research this company, you'll just find pages and pages of one sided positive DS Domination Reviews. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that everyone is an affiliate and must be making great money promoting this product. I ain't mad at that. I make my money promoting products that I actually believe in and have tried.
However I suspect that the folks promoting DS Domination are just motivated by the money. I say this because it was damn near impossible to find a balanced DS Domination review that gives you the real deal. I also couldn't find a lot of people actually putting DS Domination into practice. Folks just seemed more concerned with pushing the product. So with that said, I decided to dig deeper and discuss what others conveniently fail to mention. Hopefully this way you have a more balanced view and can make an informed decision. Sound good?
A question of ethics?
There are people that feel “some type of ways” about buying products at a low price and then reselling them for a higher price. Honestly this is more of a personal issue than a real one in my opinion. Many systems are built on this principle and have been since man has been bartering and created a monetary society. If you have some moral issue about this then you'll need to live in a forest or something because everything you buy is pretty much based on this system. That said there is some question about if this business model is violating any Amazon or Ebay terms of conditions. I can't say for certain so it's something that you should contact Amazon & Ebay about directly. I wouldn't trust the advice of the DS Domination folks because they may have no problems getting into an area of grey or may not be aware they are doing something shady.
Disappearing Profits
When you factor in the various fees such as taxes, shipping, etc., from Amazon and Ebay, they can definitely cut into your profit. You need to make sure the math adds up. Some have argued that this only works well if you're a powerseller on ebay. Becoming a powerseller can take a lot of time and effort. So there goes this idea of being able to make money so quickly with this product.
Monthly Fees
DS Domination charges you a monthly fee that can range from $20- $99 per month! Some people may take issue with this but it's a business not a job so it's expected that you'll have to invest money to start and run a business. Is the training and support up to par? That's up for debate.
It's not as easy as they claim.
DS Domination will lead you to believe that this is as easy as copying and pasting. Anytime I read this or anything about just pushing a button and you'll make money, then I know it's a bunch of BS. There is always a lot more involved! So when companies try to make it seem like it doesn't then it makes me wonder what other lies they'll feed you. Make no mistake this type of business is going to take a lot more work than they're leading you to believe.
Keeping it real?
Because there are so many affiliates vested in seeing this product succeed, many won't actually provide REAL feedback about the product that help people make informed decisions. It's all just a pep rally without much substance about the real cons. And God forbid that you do point out anything negative about DS Domination. Just like bratty children, many DS Domination members will come out the woodwork and resort to name calling instead of having an intelligent discussion to address concerns people have brought up. It's as if they're afraid that by being honest about the shortcomings it will make their house of cards fall down.
So is DS Domination A Scam or Legit?
Honestly the concept definitely works! So there is no question about that. Is it as easy as copying and pasting? Hell to the nah! There are definitely a lot more intricacies that are being brushed over in their promotions to suck you into their program. There are clearly some question marks that I think they fail to answer or conveniently skip over. So at the very least you might argue that their marketing material may be misleading or lack the substance you need to make an informed decision.
I don't know if I would personally invest in this course given what I know. But that's up to you to decide. Eddy with a Y!
Thanks for the review Eddy. I requested this and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us. I have decided not to join DSD, as there is more to it than they care to let on to people who are joning. The thing that bothered me the most is that they are violating Amazon’s Terms of Service by what they are teaching others to do. That is totally illegal. Someone posted a copy of Amazon’s TOS and it is definitely not allowed. Also their affiliate program is an illegal pyramid scheme. There should not be a fee charged to be an affiliate. Thanks again, research pays off in the end and I appreciate the time you spend on these reviews.
You’re welcome Lorna! Glad to help guide you in the right direction.
This is the best most objective critique of DSDomination. They promote like all other online make money, ie. fancy cars, mansions, etc etc . I was wanting to know what was really behind it and, that is “joining” NOT just copy and paste. Thanks for analyzing…I might try listing on my own and not join as I do not like monthly pay for ????? I’ll learn as I go.
I’m glad you like it Sharon. I like the idea of the business, I’m just not sure if their product is worth the cost. That said I’ve learned from experience going it alone can be costly from a time and money standpoint. I’d rather learn from successful people so I can just model my activities after them and avoid certain mistakes. So with that said, I’m actually exploring some other products that teach about this business as well. They seem to be better priced and without all the hype which I love. So once I take a look at it, I’ll post some feedback here or a new article. Please come back and share your experience as well.
Hi Eddy, I was a member wit DSD Domination. My first month I didn’t make any sales but I finally got hang of it because I started looking at items on Amazon that where making the most sales … I sold about 5 items. Dsd has a lot of training that can help you but to make a lot sales they say you should post five items a day and you have to price them at price people are willing to pay. To me it is not a bad program only thing I don’t like is you have to pay $20.00 every month for membership but I guess thats how the people who sell items and refer others also make extra money.
Hey,
Thanks for sharing your experience. I totally think the principles taught by DS Domination can and do work. It’s great to hear you have had success applying what they teach. I guess if you become really successful than the $20 per month won’t be a big deal because you’re selling so much on ebay. But thanks for sharing the experience.
Eddy,
I have actually found the opposite when I came across DSD. The first video I saw the program creator suggested actually using the program to make money and gain experience before even considering promoting as an affiliate. That being said, it does have an affiliate program so it is bound to attract people only interested in promoting the product as an affiliate (i.e. all the one sided reviews!!).
I am not even participating in their affiliate program and most likely will never because I am making great money just using the training. After watching some of the videos, I actually did copy and paste a few listings on eBay (10 to be exact and they took about 45 min total) on the first night and when I woke up I already had a sale with $23 in profit after all fees and tax! (maybe some luck in picking a good product but all I did was follow the training!).
In the last few months eBay has changed some things and that is why being part of a membership site is useful because they also update their videos and have weekly webinars to guide all the members actually using the program, similar to the way Wealthy Affiliates works (they also have an affiliate program but there are also tons of members using just the training and not using the affiliate program).
Even with the many eBay changes it takes me less than 30 minutes to identify items to list based on what I learned in the training videos and webinars and it takes about 5 minutes to create each listing and recently they have added in some automation features to help speed up the process and reduce the guess work.
All in all, I have had 16 sales for a total of $1042.
Also Ebay/Amazon is just the starting point. They offer different levels of training at different price points that give you more options on where/how to get products and I am seeing many people be successful just using the membership site training and even becoming sellers on Amazon as well.
The recommendation for a person who actually uses the program is to start off at the beginning level, learn and build enough profit each month to be able to afford the next product, rinse and repeat until you are at the top level and kicking butt selling on Amazon!! 🙂
Hey,
I know for a fact the concepts being taught do work and people are making money doing this. So there is no argument on my end about that. So I agree with you in that respect. I just think the product creator may be over simplifying the process on their sales page to get people to join. Either way, I appreciate you sharing your experience and re-affirming what I’ve said that this does work.
You do not need a program to be successful at ebay-Amazon arbitrage. Anyone charging you money to learn is taking advantage of the fact that you’re a newbie with no research and no experience. I won’t give away any secrets, but I want to go on the record as saying it is very doable and profitable with $0 cost start up.
Hey John,
Thanks for chiming in. At the end of the day, some people don’t want to start from scratch so they’d prefer to pay for products that lay everything out for them. So paying for programs that help speed up the learning curve makes total sense to me, otherwise how to books wouldn’t sell. So there is definitely a need for that. That said if you’re going to follow that route you want to make sure the source of the information is legitimate and isn’t taking advantage of you. So that I agree with. Unfortunately given what I read about this product I think there are probably better ways to learn about ebay arbitrage. For some people it’s about just trying it out on your own and just making your mistakes along the way. For others it may mean investing in a good teaching resource like a book or course that lays it out for you. It all depends on the person’s learning style and objectives.
I don’t think there is any question that ebay arbitrage works. How you learn to do it is up for debate. I just probably wouldn’t learn it from this product. Thanks for chiming in. I appreciate your insight. Feel free to share any free tips you have on ebay-amazon arbitrage. I’m sure it would help some people.
I actually joined a few months back. It’s not just copy and paste. You have to look at things other people are selling on Ebay and then list the same item at a slightly lower price. In the video series you are told things you should not sell on Ebay…electronics, certain brands of weights, etc. You will probably spend a lot of time finding items to list and You cannot get your money back if you don’t like the program, when you sign up you agree not to file a credit card chargeback. I cancelled my membership after a few days. I felt the time spent searching for items to list and then listing for small profit wasn’t worth it. Plus I felt it was a little unethical to take advantage of the fact that people don’t price check before they buy. I don’t like the fact that all reviews of this program are from affiliates trying to promote the program. I wonder how much people are really making and how much time are they spending listing.
Thanks for sharing your experience and honest feedback. I’m sure you just helped some people make a good informed decision instead of being swayed by the affiliates that just want to make a profit at whatever cost.
Thanks for sharing this Eddy, I was about to sign-up to this website because plenty of people are recommending it on Youtube but I have been a follower of yours since 2009. I can assume when more needs to be done than what’s actually told to you. Thank you for your insight as always!
No problem Quadir! Any time I see so many people promoting one opportunity I’m even more skeptical than usual because I know folks are making bank promoting the opportunity not necessarily that it’s actually good.
There is definitely a lot more work than they lead you to believe. Nothing is ever that sweet especially online. But you already know that because you’re a fellow member of WA with me. =)
I have been looking for some time to work at home, I do not like to so I an going to give you this program free then you get to the end and the want your credit card for $20.00 to $50.00
I don’t really understand your comment. But there are various options you can explore here: https://www.workathomenoscams.com/2012/07/02/what-type-of-work-at-home-seeker-are-you/ so finding legitimate ways to work at home shouldn’t be an issue if you’re reading my information and taking action.
In terms of my free recommendation you don’t need a credit card and you don’t need to upgrade if you don’t want. You can stay at the free membership. So you have options either way.
I’m retired so I have a fair amount of time on my hands. I joined DSDomination in early October, 2013 with the hope of making a few extra bucks to supplement my retirement income. It took a lot of time and a lot of research to get started, but I managed to make about $261 profit in October on sales of around $2,000. It’s been growing ever since and last month I had sales of about $10,700 with a profit of $1,650. But it does take a lot of time and a willingness to work. I haven’t tried to sponsor anyone yet so all of my profits are based on arbitrage. Dennis
Hey Dennis, Thanks for sharing and providing some real feedback. You’ve done pretty well with this. But I’m happy you have dispelled the nonsense of it being easy as copy and pasting.
Clearly as I argued there is a lot more work involved than others and the marketing will have you believe. So I appreciate your honesty. It’s great to hear you’re having success! Thanks for chiming in!
