Treasure Trooper is very much like FusionCash.com where you get paid to complete various offers. Here's how it works. You sign up for a free account with TreasureTrooper.com where you're able to log in and select offers of interest to you. The offers can be totally free, paid or risk free trials. Risk free trials means that you sign up for an offer using your credit card. But you're not charged until you've finished your trial period which can be 7 or 30 days. TreasureTrooper.com pays you for doing any of these offers. But from my experience the risk free trials will always pay the most because Treasure Trooper is paid more money for referring you to this offer.
This brings me to my next point. How can Treasure Trooper afford to pay you to try offers?
Well all companies are looking for new customers or prospects. So what they'll do is pay commissions to companies like Treasure Trooper.com to find them these prospects or customers. So what TreasureTrooper.com has done is decided to give you some of the commissions they earn. (How nice of them!) So let's say a company like Netflix.com is paying them $20 to get a prospect to do a trial of their DVD by mail service, TreasureTrooper.com might pay you $10 for trying the Netflix offer.
They keep track of all the offers you do on their website and tally up all the money you've earned for doing various offers. You then get paid at the end of the month for the total of your offers for the prior month and for any referrals you send if you choose to do so (which you should!).
And that's pretty much how it works folks.
The reason why sites like TreasureTrooper.com may be considered a scam is that you need to be very organized so that you can keep track of what offers you do and which ones are trial offers so you know when to cancel them if you're no longer interested. Most people aren't and they end losing the money they make.
So let's use the Netflix example, Let's say you've tried the service and TreasureTrooper.com pays you $10 and you decided that you weren't really interested in continuing the Netflix service but forgot to cancel it. Netflix would then charge you $10 for next month's DVDs and now you've pretty much lost money. So I think this is where people may think a company like TreasureTrooper.com is a scam!
But they're not. They keep their end of the bargain up by paying you as promised but they're not responsible if you're not organized in terms of keeping track of what offers you do and don't cancel. Either way they make their money. But if you want to make yours then you need to stay organized.
I've participate in programs like TreasureTrooper.com and made a few hundred bucks which was nice. But I was very organized. So I don't think TreasureTrooper.com is scam at all. You can definitely make money. But just be aware of the pitfalls. Like any program, it has its flaws but you can in-fact make money and that's the bottom line! Hope you enjoy this review and make your own decision about TreasureTrooper.com. If you're a member I'd love to hear your feedback about it.
What payments system do they use to pay ut to their users? I can’t seem to find this information anywhere.
Yeah, I’m not sure either. You can contact them directly here.
The reason people think it is a scam is because like so many other small task sites, you do not get paid for every survey you complete, every call you complete, every offer you complete. It is hit and miss, and they take no responsibility for it.
Hey Debra,
I agree, a lot of people don’t understand some of the nuisances to these programs so that it works to their advantage. When you do get paid to try sites are a great way to make some money. But on the flip side you can lose money and your privacy if you don’t know how to approach it properly.
Thanks for sharing your views!
Treasuretrooper is the real deal, I’ve been getting paid for them for years.
Yep, that’s pretty much what I’ve argued in the review above. Thanks for reaffirming what I’ve said. Great to hear you’re doing well with it.
they are a waste of time everytime i do a survey with them i get cut off midway and says i dont qualify and i sent questions to there support team none replys i even went to there chat and i got banned for being disrespectful and i wasnt i just asked a few simple questions.. id say stay away unless you wanna waste your time and life on them and return get nothing! bogus place to go to try and make a few bucks
@Josh: Treasuretrooper now pays instantly and now has a referral system similiar to Fusioncash but it requires a lot of work to get to Fusioncash level referral bonuses xd
Instantly you say? Might have to check out what else has changed. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Eddie, have you see you over at Phils fault before, who incidentally like me is a member or Treasure Trooper as well.
I personally find that most people misunderstand sites like Treasure Trooper, thinking that they solely exist to make money for the member, this is simply not true, they are designed to provide leads and potential sales for it’s advertisers.
I look at it this way, if I am seriously interested in trying out Netflix, then I am happy to do it through Treasure Trooper as I get a kick back for it. Where people fail is when they do not take the time to understand the basics about the site and they are quick to scream out scam to anyone that will listen.
I have received my checks in the past without any fuss, so from my point of view it certainly isn’t a scam.
I totally agree with you about this and the misconception of get paid to try offer sites like TT. I actually discuss this in great detail on the following articles:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2008/05/07/getpaidtotryoffers/
https://www.workathomenoscams.com/2007/08/27/is-fusion-cash-fusioncashcom-a-scam/
I think if more people understood what you’ve laid out here, they would better appreciate opportunities like this.
Thanks for chiming in.
Has a grade F standing from the Better Business Bearu and has several complaints with the rip off report. If there is a problem with payment, they will not tell you, They have been known to either not pay or to “decide” to make you wait 1-3 months longer than what they say to pay you. Their support will get rude and agressive with you if you ask about your money. They also have a section in their terms of service which states they can ban you from the site for any reason and KEEP your money!!! There is also sections in their terms of service which clearly states you can not sue them and that they offer “no commitment” to actually paying you what you work for. My suggestion is to stay away from this company. They are not listed in any real business searches, are not listed in any phone books, there is no phone number to reach this business, they have not given the BBB back any company info either.
How long do offers take to approve on TT?
It depends on the offer. On sites like fusion cash they tend to provide a timeframe for any offer before you do it. I don’t know how it works at TT. Just visit their site and email them directly.
oktnx fr the info
You’re welcome.
I was thinking about doing something like Treasure Trooper but how do you pay taxes on doing work like this? Thanks for your help!
Hi Tanya,
Taxes pretty much work as described on the following page for any work at home company because you’re usually considered an independent contractor:
https://www.workathomenoscams.com/2010/04/15/weekly-work-at-home-recap-04-16-2010/
Hope it helps.
Yes, I’d like to see details! How would one be able, how would one begin….
man treasure trooper is really a scam seriously i went to jail because of it
Umm, I highly doubt it was because of treasure trooper. But details as to what about TT caused you to go to jail would be useful.
Again, the most thorough overview and informative review I’ve read so far about this “opportunity”. Thanks bunches!
You’re welcome Cathy!
I have just signed up to TT but am a little concerned about the amount of mail and or phone calls i may receive as a result of completing some of these surveys? has anyone found this to be a problem???
Hi,
Use a different active email than your own personal one. In terms of phone calls, I would use a skype number or google voice or some other online service so that your home phone isn’t bombarded. Because you’ll definitely receive a lot of marketing material with these offers. That is ultimately the trade off with get paid offers.
Hi Eddy,
First let me just say that your web site is AMAZING and THANK YOU THANK YOU A THOUSAND TIMES OVER FOR NOT letting me WASTE my MONEY on scams!!! :)))
I would like to hear your thoughts about Labell Baskets. I spoke with a women named Mia and she spoke very highly of you when I mentioned that I use your web site and how much I LOVE IT!! Please let me know if this is a good work from home opportunity?
Thank You For All That You Do To Help People!!
Happy Holidays to you and your family!! :))
Sabrina :))
Hi Sabrina,
Thanks for the kind words. It always does my heart good to hear when I’ve helped someone avoid some crazy work at home scams. I’ve never heard of Labell Baskets. However Mia is an old friend of mine that goes way back. I doubt she would recommend something shady. But I’m always big proponent of doing your own research even if someone like me recommends something. Sometimes the complaints that folks have about a company doesn’t really bother me because I know how to get around them. But for others it may be enough to stop them from working with a company. So I would suggest watching my scam video and applying the steps listed there to research this Labell Baskets company.
As always, my personal recommendations can be found here:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/recommendations but like everything else, take them with a grain of salt. lol
Take care and Happy Holidays to you and your family as well.
Thanks for the quick response Eddy. That was fantastic. I’ll keep checking back frequently to see what you have going on here. As far as my wife, she is not technically disabled. What she has is a condition called Chiari Malformation, which basically means that here Brain stem has settled into her spinal canal. As we all know, it is impossible for two objects to occupy the same space and when those two objects are your brain stem and your spine, well, it causes pain that most of us will hopefully never have to experience. SO, job opportunities for her are limited, since she can not stand for long periods of time. At home jobs would seem to be the obvious avenue for her to persue. Thanks again for the info. Happy holidays to everyone.@Eddy Salomon:
You’re welcome Scottman.
All you have to do is become a subscriber and you’ll always know when I have new content:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/subscribe so be sure to do that.
Wow, your wife’s condition sounds very painful. If she is considered officially disabled by the government it would qualify her some of the work at home opportunities I listed in that article. But if not there are various work at home options that may be a fit for her which can be found here:
https://www.workathomenoscams.com/companies and every friday we add new jobs here:
https://www.workathomenoscams.com/category/work-from-home-job-leads/
Maybe something will pan out. Either way, I’ll keep her in my prayers. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
