There is an expression that says time is precious. I think most of us can agree with this statement. But I've noticed that when it comes to making money online, we all value our time differently. Some people are perfectly happy working on money making opportunities like surveys that may pay you less than minimum wage when you do the math. Then you have others like me that prefer to spend my time running my online business and dictating how much I make. We're all different and that's fine. If you're reading this page you probably want to know if Valued Opinions is worth your time. The answer is it all depends on your situation. Once you read my Valued Opinions Review below you decide and let me know.
What is Valued Opinions?
ValuedOpinions.com was established in 2004. It's a market research panel website that offers you the opportunity to earn rewards completing surveys. It's owned and operated by Research Now USA, who claim to be “the world's leading digital data collection company”. So according to them Valued Opinions is an online community where your opinions count. Well, at least that's what they say.
But valued opinions is not just about surveys. They also provide their members with the opportunity to complete diary studies, as well as test products at home in exchange for gift vouchers. So let's check it out and see just how much they value your opinion.
How Does Valued Opinions Work?
Once you become a member, you will be invited to take online surveys via email but you can also access surveys via Valued Opinions member dashboard. The time it takes to complete a survey, varies from 10 to 15 minutes. On occasion, Valued Opinions will send you short unpaid surveys to get to know you better, so that they can send you surveys relevant to your interests. However, at the beginning of each survey, you are asked certain questions to validate your eligibility to complete the study.
When and How Does Valued Opinions Reward You?
Valued Opinions reward options include a $5 sign up bonus and you earn credits every time you complete a survey. Surveys usually carry a value between $1 and $5. Once you successfully complete a survey, your account is automatically credited. But credits for diary studies and focus groups may take up to 6 weeks to be credited to your account. Once your balance is $10 or above, you can redeem your reward for gift vouchers from Amazon.com, Target, Macy's and many more.
How Do You Join Valued Opinions?
It is free, quick, and easy to join. All you have to do is complete a short registration form and activate your account. Once you become a registered member, you'll start receiving invitations to complete surveys, test products, or review advertising campaigns. Like Univox Community, Valued Opinions has several levels of membership you can participate at. Don't worry, it's all free and it works with the amount of surveys you've completed and the credits you've accumulated.
While Market Research now has a global presence, Valued Opinions is only available to residents of the USA and membership is restricted to individuals who are 16 years and over. But that's okay, because if you are looking for an opportunity that will allow you to make more than $10 gift cards and vouchers, then you might want to consider my Top Free Work At Home Recommendation.
Valued Opinions Hacks or Tips
Keep your information up to date
You want to make sure that your profile information is up to date, to ensure that you receive surveys that are most relevant to you. The more surveys you receive, the more credits you can accumulate and earn more rewards.
It's not a multiple choice test
That's right. Taking a survey is not like doing a multiple choice exam. You want to be as honest as possible in your responses to survey questions. Like PointClub, Valued Opinions include disqualification questions at the beginning of the survey, and if you're not careful in your response, you can be disqualified.
Valued Opinions Complaints
Well, with a name like Valued Opinions, and a company that boasts about how much your opinions count to them, you have a certain expectation right? But, while completing surveys seems like a convenient way to earn a few gift cards and vouchers, it just might be a challenge to get there. So let's check this baby out and see what's really going on.
No money to be made here
While you can redeem your credits for gift cards or vouchers, no cash payout option is offered with this opportunity. Extra cash can come in handy to pay a bill or purchase something you really want. But that's not an option here.
Oh man, is this all I have to choose from?
I'm not even remotely interested in any of these gift cards or vouchers. There have been a few complaints about the limited reward choices that Valued Opinions offer. Oops, and there is no cash payout option. Really? Not even paypal. Come on!
I'm sorry, this survey is now closed.
Yep. Believe it or not, surveys have an expiration date and sometimes it just might be sooner rather than later. Once a certain number of responses have been reached, surveys are no longer available. It doesn't matter whether you were in the middle of it or just finishing up. Once the target number of responses have been reached, that's it. They will shut you down.
Hey, why did you lock me out?
What the hell? I've got over $100 worth of completed surveys, what gives? How am I gonna get paid, if I can't even access my account to request my reward? Jeez. Did I just waste my time? And you won't even answer my emails! Apparently situations like this have happened to some members.
More Valued Opinions complaints and concerns
Do you even have customer service?
I've tried and tried how many times, why won't you answer me? All I ever get is an automated reply that someone will contact me but no one has. Do you even have a customer service department?! There have been complaints about Valued Opinions lack of response, timely or otherwise, to their members queries and concerns.
Gift card got lost or something?
Oh man, why is it taking so long. I requested this since last October. Seriously? Your requested voucher or gift card just might take a while to arrive.
Just pay shipping and handling
Ah yeah, there's a small administrative fee for processing your requested rewards. So let's say there's a $2 processing fee, you would have to make $12 to request your $10 gift card or voucher.
Haven't had a survey in a long time
Do they know I still exist? Maybe the site's not working. Oh man, it's been so long since I qualified for a survey. Well, sorry to say, but this happens, because it all depends on what the client is looking for and your demographics just may not fit. If your demographics don't fit, well you won't get surveys.
Is Valued Opinions Legitimate or Scam?
As surveys go, Valued Opinions is legitimate and is one of the largest online survey company in the world, but clearly, it's not everyone's opinion they value. I mean, you can take the time to find out if they'll value your opinion, but wouldn't you prefer to invest your time and effort into something more worthwhile? Something with a cash out option and no limits? If that's something that interests you, then you definitely need to check out my Top Free Work At Home Recommendation and my Work At Home Courses. Both of these options provide you with the opportunity to earn multiple streams of income, which in my experience has been the key to becoming successful online.
Hey, I've said my piece but the final decision is always yours. Thanks for reading and please let me know what you think about all of this.
Until next time,
Eddy with a y
Once upon a time this was a good panel. I always got paid. Then Dynata took over this panel and e-Rewards. I too received emails for both panels stating I wasn’t honest and that I had more than one account and because of that, my account was flagged and suspended. I’ve already contacted BBB.org and suggest anyone who reads this do the same. I also contacted the local Attorney General in Texas where Dynata is located and filed a complaint. If we can get some government agencies to intervene, we may see our money!
I have just, like many others, had my account suspended without being told why except for some vague generic email. I have been a member for 8 months and it was ok despite the IT glitches and frustrations. But something has happened to Valued Opinions, it does not care about it’s members, there is no communication, it has taken my money. There are much better survey companies out there. Avoid Valued Opinions.
Thanks for sharing your experience Dave! Ultimately surveys are not something I would ever depend on because things like this. I actually discuss this in my surveys suck youtube video here.
Is this a total scam company, I got loads of surveys till I reached 10 pounds, then didn’t send me any surveys, then when I emailed them cause to cash out it would only allow me to donate what I made to charity, I complained that I wasn’t getting any surveys and said at the end that I thought it Wass just a scam, they emailed me back and said they have suspended my account indfinatley and obviously kept what I had made doing the surveys. Don’t waste your time doing any surveys on line it’s all a scam
Damn that sucks Mandy. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I would like to know when they are going to enable the gift card of amazon and I have 2 weeks with the money to buy the gift card from amazon and I appear exhausted. What time do I have to wait?
Fernando, you should visit their site and contact them about this.
Hey Eddy!
your write up on value options is great. I was just wondering. with regards to the surveys, do they favor us citizens alone or the world as a whole?
For now i am building my blogs and websites and will certainly look at the survey websites and see how i can earn when the time is right. Thanks for the write up. I will consider that.
Hey Mark, A lot of are geared towards the US or Canada. I would focus more on your blogs rather than surveys for the reasons i laid out in the article above. You won’t be able to make consistent money with it.
It all comes down to a simple question – how much would one pay for someones opinion? How much would you pay to find out if i like black or brown shoes? 🙂 i mean, only if you’re totally bored, or your hobby is answering questions (like in the quiz) than go for this. And Amazon gift card is a cool thing – you can always buy something there. At least some peanuts 🙂
Yeah i think you have to view and approach surveys more like a way to have some fun and the money is a secondary effect of it. But I don’t know how fun it would be to keep getting rejected. lol
Does Valued Opinions bundle all of the surveys, diary studies and test products as a hook to entice people to join? How does Valued Opinions benefit from surveys that you take? Why does it take up to 6 weeks to get your account credited for diary studies and focus groups? What happens if you get disqualified from Valued Opinions? Does Valued Opinions have a members customer service section or a support group?
A lot of great questions Larry. I would recommend visiting their site and asking them.
One complaint I have heard about many online survey websites and you mentioned here was that there isn’t enough work out there. Whether you don’t qualify for surveys or there simply just aren’t enough out there often times you cannot complete enough. Because of this is impossible to make a real income through these sites. Because of that who do you think these websites appeal most to and what types of people would benefit most from utilizing them?
Honestly most people that visit my blog want a consistent way to make extra or full time income so I don’t know a lot of people this appeals to
I’ve stopped registering at survey sites. Partly because most of them doesn’t allow users from non-US countries. Also some survey sites has little surveys that you can participate. And most of them pays ridiculously low. I don’t see it as a good way to make stable online income. I’ll rather spend time building blogs or websites that generate passive income in the long term.
That’s a smart move Kenny. I came to the same conclusion many years ago. Thanks for sharing your insight.
