But “Eddy with a y” only personally recommends companies I trust & researched.

I've been hiring writers for my websites for quite a while now. So I'm always looking for great websites that pay writers to create content for my blog.  Chances are you're probably a writer looking to get paid for this type of work.  I'm assuming that's why you're searching for Writer Access reviews to determine whether it's legit or a scam.

Well, we have everything you need to know including the good, the bad and the ugly about the company. So let's get cracking, shall we?

What Is Writer Access?

Writer Access found at www.writeraccess.com is an article writing content mill that hires writers, editors and translators to create and edit content for clients.  Writer Access is run and managed by ideaLaunch, a content research and marketing firm founded by Byron White in 1999. ideaLaunch is located at 205 Portland St Ste 500, in Boston, MA 02114-1708.

How Does Writer Access Work?

Once you’re hired by Writer Access as a writer you’ll be picking content to write from the open jobs board. Each content request has specific details and instructions such as keywords to use, deadline, pay, etc.

You’ll have a few minutes to check out the job and decide whether you want to do it or not. Once you complete a job, the client has up to 14 days to either approve, send a revision or reject it. If the 14 days elapse and all is silent, Writer Access will approve your article automatically.

A client has the option of adding you to their “love list” if they liked your work and would want to hire you again.

Every day Writer Access will tell you via email of the number of jobs posted on the open jobs board. They’ll also let you know if there are jobs from clients who added you to their “love list”.

If you want to make money writing without having to deal with clients and their requirements, you can check out My Best Work At Home Recommendation which shows you how to make real money working part time or full time writing for your own blog.

And just keep in mind you can make money online without having to write at all. There are sites like SwagBucks.com, FusionCash.com and SurveyJunkie.com that pay you for other things you already do online.

How Do I Join Writer Access?

At the time of this review Writer Access only hires writers from the United States. If you are not from the US, you can find some writing companies that hire writer s from anywhere in the world in our list of The Best Free Online Writing Jobs for Newbies.

But if you are in the U.S. there are a couple of things you need to do to join Writer Access.

First you need to open an account with your email and a password. Once you do that, you will need to provide a writing sample which they'll use to check the quality of writing and your pay grade.

You’ll also need to send them your resume. Next, you'll fill out a web form that includes your personal details, and interests. Finally you can tell them why you want to work for them.

How Long Does It Take To Get Accepted?

After you provide all the required info, Writer Access states they’ll get back to you within a few weeks. If your application was successful, they’ll give you an initial rating and you can log in and start working.

How Much Money Can I Make With Writer Access?

Depending on the initial rating they provide, you can make anywhere between $5 and $100 per article. But that largely depends on how many jobs are available and your turn-around time. Here are the Writer Access pay rates according to the website

  • 1.4 cents per word – Level 2
  • 2.8 cents per word – Level 3
  • 4.2 cents per word – Level 4
  • 5.6 cents per word – Level 5
  • 7.0 cents per word – Level 6

You'll probably have to work your way up to higher levels of pay. Or if you want to actually make way more money writing for yourself, then check out My Top Work At Home Recommendation.

But if you're smart you'll have multiple streams of income and don't limit yourself. With that in mind you can make a little extra cash taking surveys at SurveyJunkie.com. You can also make money for things you already do online like watching videos, visitings sites and more at sites like SwagBucks.com and FusionCash.com.

How Does Writer Access Pay You?

Writer Access pays via PayPal every two weeks, on the 9th for jobs paid by the end of the previous month and 22nd for jobs paid by the 15th of every month. You’ll need at least $10 in your account balance to get your money.

What We Like About Writer Access

Positive BBB

Writer Access's parent company ideaLaunch has an A+ Rating if you live and die by the Better Business Bureau ratings.

They Pay Better Than Most Content Mills

In my experience, some well-known content mills like iWriter and TextBroker accept every Tom, Dick and Harry to write content. So it's hard to make decent money on some of these sites. On the other hand, some level  5 and 6 writers out there claim they make upwards of $40,000 a year writing for Writer Access.

Writer Access Complaints

Well it sounds all good for now. But every company has a dark side or some red flags that you should be aware of. Let's dive into some of the complaints against writer access.

It's like watching paint dry

It seems one of the biggest complaints against Writer Access is how long clients take to approve articles. Remember they have 14 days to approve your articles. That's a long time to know if they're going to pay you or not. Whereas other content mills is just a few days. So I can see why that is frustrating for writers.

Don’t Quit your Day Job

The initial rating they’ll give you determines how much you’ll be earning. If you're fortunate enough to get a 5 or 6 rating, you’re good money! The problem is when you rated lower. Writers claim there are barely enough jobs to go by for levels 3 and 4 and level 2 writers make pennies. So given this, don’t quit your day job. This is why I've always been a bigger fan of writing for myself and making what I deem I deserve. Fortunately My Top Work At Home Recommendation can help you do the same. But that's just me.

Is Writer Access A Scam?

Writer Access is not a scam. We haven't been able to find a writer that has claimed they didn’t get their due for work approved. However, don’t expect to make money off the bat as it takes forever to get your money. Clients with a low rating barely get by on the site. All in all, it’s a nice platform if you can thrive and get your ratings up. Professionals claim they make a decent amount on the website. But if you're a newbie at writing you may struggle.

If you are in no way interested in making money writing articles, you can earn a little extra cash taking surveys at SurveyJunkie.com. You can also get paid for what you do online like watching videos and visiting sites at SwagBucks.com and FusionCash.com.

However if you want to get paid some serious money writing, you may want to consider blogging and My Best Work At Home Recommendation can help you earn a full time income doing this.

Well, that's my Writer Access review. Feel free to chime in your thoughts on the comments section below. Otherwise, if you have any questions, check out their FAQs page.
