I'll be the first to admit I'm not a big reader of books. But I do read the hell out of online articles. Prior to getting my wife an iphone and installing Kindle on it, she would buy tons of books. It's her vice and it's a good one unlike my habit of buying new gadgets every few months. But the problem is we would have a closet full of books that she was probably never going to read again. We didn't feel right about throwing them out. Some of them we donated to our local library or would pass down to family and friends. But recently I discovered a way to recoup some of that money we've invested. It's called Cash4Books.net
How it works?
It's Basically Four Easy Steps:
- Type the ISBN's from your good condition books into the form above (look on the back cover, above the barcode). Press the Enter key after each ISBN. Click 'price my books' for a quote. (View examples of books we buy)
- Give us your contact information and payment preference by going through Checkout. We offer payment via check or PayPal.
- Ship your books to us for FREE. Print a label right from your computer, or we will mail you labels. Specific instructions are provided after submitting your books to sell.
- Get Paid, FAST! We will mail you a check, or pay you via PayPal, within 3 business days after we receive and process your books.
Is Cash4Books.net a scam?
Not from what I can tell. But obviously the first thing I did was was follow the steps in my work at home scams video. As many of you know that's how I research companies. It's also happens to be the place I send people that ask me the dreaded question is EnterWhateverWebsiteOrCompanyNameHere.com a scam? That being said, my research didn't find many complaints if any. And for you folks that swear by the BBB, they checked out great there as well. Click here to see the report. (P.S. If you want to know more of my feelings about the BBB check out my BBB Work At Home article by clicking here.)
In addition to the favorable reviews by the BBB, one of our own users Melissa has also used this company and found it to be legitimate. She also provides some great tips and advice that should be considered regarding this opportunity. Click here to read her comment.
I'm sure you'll have questions. Fortunately they have an FAQ section you can read or email them your questions directly. Visit Cash4Books.net and click on the FAQ link at the top or bottom of the page.
How To Earn More
Okay so I've listed the common way someone would make money with Cash4Books.net. But as a trained affiliate I'm always thinking outside the box. I can't help it, It's my job. That being said I've thought of some other techniques you could use to make money with this opportunity. Because let's be honest, suppose you run out of books to sell or you're like me and don't really read books. Either way, it's not a problem. Here are two free options to fatten up your pockets with this opportunity.
– Head to a classified site like Craigslist.com, Backpage.com or anyone you know of.
– Select your city or one close by.
– Look for the wanted section.
– Post a free ad asking for Book Donations.
– You can also post flyers in your grocery store, or book store.
– Read your local newspaper or Classifieds sites and see where Thrift & Garage Sales are happening.
– You can find books there for dirt cheap. If you an Internet-enabled cellphone or laptop, you can look up books at Cash4Books.net/mobile as you shop to determine which books are worth buying and how much you can make.
So there you have it two easy options that can help you make money with used books. Not only are you making some money but you're probably helping someone with their spring cleaning and they didn't have to lift a finger. lol
P.S. Of course like nearly everything else I put you guys on to, there is an affiliate program as well (Click here to learn about it!). I know I sound like a broken record. But it's like your Mom use to say, it's because I love ya. Cheers! As always, I would love your thoughts on this opportunity. It's definitely not for everyone. But as always I just wanted to give you another non-traditional work at home option for those of you struggling to find a work at home job.

do you know of any other sites that take old books and magazines in good condition online like example: home business magazines, children books love story books teachers magazines etc.
thanks for feedback.
Sorry no I don’t. Most of these sites want certain books not magazines.
Hello Eddy, i reside in Nigeria, west Africa. I have great interest in work at home no scam jobs but unfortunately all such jobs that i have found are always for American residents alone. Kindly mail me sites of company that give considerations to countries from Africa, especially Nigeria. Thank you.

books are heavy. Surly it cost a lot to ship books
Give it a try. They cover the cost of shipping.
Cash4books is AWESOME…they bought my Ashford University books, that Ashford didn’t buy back. They sent me a prepaid shipping label, and I recevied it fairly quickly. I mailed my books to them and the next week I received a check from them in the mail. This company is the best and I will recommend to them to everyone I know!
You’re welcome! 🙂
I think it all depends on the type of books. Some books are more profitable and popular than others. It’s nothing personal.
i just tried several book and cash4books.com did not want to buy any of them guess they dont want to buy books at all or only want new books.
Thanks for the heads up. They better create one for the iphone too! lol
We have an iPhone and Android app now too. They are both free to download.
Hope you enjoy them!
Just dropping you a line to let you know that Cash4Books just released a brand new Android app today, 10/19. It’s FREE to download! It allows people to scan book barcodes with the built-in barcode reader and get instant price quotes from anywhere. Here’s all the details:
Thanks for taking time to address this comment. It just goes to show you do care about your users. More businesses should do exactly what you just did.
cash4books will quote you a price wait till you agree and ship your book then send you a check for a lessor amount and you not know it until you get the check. They will not give you back your book, they claim once they receive it, it is their property. SELLER beware, these people don’t care about students. Honestly, use another company to sell your books or use them and be damed!
Thanks for sharing your experience.

http://www.bigwords.com is a great way to sell your textbooks to reputable sites, it will even let you know who will give you the most money back via check or store credit 🙂
Thanks for sharing.
Hi, Eddy. This is just the website we needed. My 14yo is too young to work but wanted to make some money. We listed 6 of her books and she’ll get a check for $19.13. I told her we can sell more of them once the check comes to make sure it all goes smoothly. She is so excited, I think she already has the money spent in her mind. Thanks for this great post!
That’s great to hear. We don’t really hear a lot of stories about how we helped a teenager work at home. So thanks for sharing. I’m happy she is excited and has discovered the joys of making money online legitimately. Let’s hope this experience will lead to greater things for your daughter.
Hi, Just wanted to say thank you for a great web site! I’m a newbie and just starting to read through all the wonderful information you’ve provided! If your reader’s didn’t know, you can also list and sale your books on Amazon.com. They take a very very small percentage and you pay shipping upfront–but they reimburse you. Amazon makes the process really easy and I’ve never had a problem. I’m going to try Cash4Books too!
Thanks for the kind words Dolly and the information about Amazon! I’m sure folks looking into this opportunity will appreciate another venue to make money with used books.
I have a friend who lives in Australia and has a bunch of books to sell. Do you know of any used book buyers in Aussie land or any advice how / where should search?
Try having them go to the site mentioned above and email those folks directly. They may know of other companies.
Hey! I’m not exactly a new reader, but I am a new commenter! I’ve been following your blog for 2 months now and I have to say it’s been really awesome! Now that I’m finally a member of Wealthy Affiliate I figure I’d drop by and say thanks for your review of it, which held a lot of weight in my mind as to whether it was a scam or not.
But hey, this aint about WA, so I’ll just add that this site does sound great, especially since I’ve got a ton of books I’m never going to touch. Thanks again for the heads up and all your reviews man!
Hey Broke Affiliate (Soon to be Rich Affiliate with some time and patience. lol)
Glad to see you coming out your shell and chiming in. I’m glad to hear you like this latest opportunity. Might as well make some money off those books collecting dust.
By the way since you’ve joined WA, please email me off line so I can share a little WA guide I’ve created to help newbies like yourself navigate through the vast amounts of information on
I am sure it will help you tremendously. Thanks again for all the support.
This is a legit company, I have actually used them to sell my text books to. Just a few things people should remember before digging in the closet for old books: They generally only accept books that are less then 5 years of age. If you get a price quote, mail in the books and they are not of sellable condition, they will recycle the book and you do not get paid for it. After receiving and inspecting the book you receive payment quite quickly if it is in the condition you specified.
Thanks for chiming in and giving your experience and advice. I hope you don’t mind but I’m going to link to your comment so folks are aware of these tips. Thanks again. I really appreciate it!
being a granny is the best. i am expecting my fourth. i call my grandaughter my feel good. whenever i am down, just seeing her picture picks me up.
Yeah, I was still up- and yep, I’m east coast. I used to stay up to watch Leno and go to sleep right after. Now that it’s Conan OBrian, I just stay on my laptop instead! I haven’t signed up for Cash4Books yet- my books are all packed and ready to move to my new house so it will have to wait until they are unpacked again. Have a good one!
LOL. Congrats on your new house! I’m so ready to move. Hopefully that will be sooner than later.
Wow, are you a mindreader? I was just thinking how I could get rid of some of the books I have, this sounds like a winner. Thanks for the tip.
I wish that were true Marilyn, I’d be rich. lol Good luck with this opportunity. Please keep me posted if you decide to use it.
Eddy, as always, thanks for providing yet another way to make extra money. I really like the idea of going to the thrift stores since that’s what I do anyway! LOL I buy most of my son’s children’s books from there in very good condition. So I will definitely look into this opportunity. Thanks again!
Thanks Eddy! Once again, you have given people the info for another opportunity to make some $!
Cash4Books.net seems really cool, and the affiliate program rocks!
I usually just give my books away or donate them, but it’s been quite a long time since I’ve done either. I’ve got tons of books stored in Rubbermaid containers & I’ll have to spend some time going thru all of them & checking the condition of all of them.
There are NO fees involved at all. Even shipping is free!
They also sell textbooks & I’ve got plenty of those!
I’m sure I’ve got some books that will sell & I can make a few bucks. I’ll let ya know how it goes. But I have to let you know, I’m a bit of a procrastinator! 🙂
Eddy, thanks again!
Hey Jamie, Always great to hear from you. I’m happy you approve of my latest find. I love the fact there are no fees at all as well. Sounds like you’re going to make a little change with this when you do finally get to it. 😉 lol
You’re welcome. I bet you’ll be looking at those thrift shops in a different way now. lol
Just for the record folks, I’m probably one of the youngest granny’s around, but it’s 2009 things have changed! Either way I’m soooooooooo excited! Wish me luck!
Alright Eddy time I came out of the closet. I have been meaning to post as I read the blog regulary and rather enjoy all the wonderful info you have here to offer. I have no idea where to begin. I will say, that since I have started reading your blog I have been more apt to want to make money online and from home. Thanks! I’m sure I’ll be posting more often. Wonderful info here by the way. Thanks again!
Hey man of Knowledge, I can hardly keep up with you. Good thing I decided to follow you around otherwise I’d miss a lot of good stuff. Well, I’m still working hard online. I’m awaiting my first grand baby, due any time now. So, don’t have much time to spend online. But I’m working on that too. Thanks again my friend. Stay well, we need you out here.
Cool! You know I like books. I became a member immediately. Thanks for the heads up. You’re the best!
You’re Welcome Letitia! Keep me posted.
Thanks for the tip. I’ve heard that about those CD opportunities as well. But I haven’t read many complaints about the company above, so hopefully its all good.
TLC, Congrats on the grand baby! I know how excited you must be. I’ll be praying for you and family for a safe delivery and healthy baby!
Savorian, Thanks for coming out your shell and chiming in. Welcome! I hope to hear more from you. Glad I’ve been able to open your eyes to some new possibilities.
Veronica, Always great to hear from you. Keep me posted on how this pans out for you.
P. Isabel, Hopefully now you can make some money instead of giving away the books. Still nice that you did that though.
Okay, I think I acknowledged everyone here. lol You guys seem to like this one. Hope to hear some updates as you folks try this.
Thanks for the info.! I can’t believe I didn’t think of this before! Just a word or warning though…some of these companies are real sticklers when it comes to items being in “good condition”. The CD companies are the worst. It’s a bit easier when it comes to books but just be warned.
And Hi to everybody on here 🙂 thanks so much for the latest updates keep them coming I will check it out 🙂
Have a blessed day to you and all
This sounds interesting – I also have many books which I usually give away so today
I will sign up. Hope it goes well
Oh this is fantastic!! Ive been looking for a way to get some more cash into my paypal.
Also, I can probably drop off my books. McKenzie Books, the “parent company”, is very local
for me being an Oregon company. Nothing like supporting your local economy!!
Glad to hear it Michael.
Thanks Eddy, this provides a better opportunity than consignment shops.
You’re welcome Nancy. Glad I provided you with another option.
Interesting. I was thinking about ways to sell my books that I don’t read anymore. Thanks for the tips!
You’re welcome Christina.
This sounds like a winner, I will try it out. Thanks!
Girl, what are you doing up? lol Are you on the East coast. It’s nearly midnight.
