Links & ads you may click on this blog pay the bills & keep this site free for you. Thanks for supporting!

People are always looking for a way to make money online. So it's not surprising that internet is being flooded with internet marketing courses claiming to help you make money. But are these courses a scam or worth it? If you are asking this question, you have probably searched through several Affilorama reviews.

We will answer that question for you by looking at the good, bad, and ugly and see if the Affilorama membership course is worth your time and money.

What is Affilorama?

Affilorama.com was founded in 2005 by Mark Ling. It is an internet marketing membership site for beginners and advanced marketers who are interested in learning more about affiliate marketing and starting an online business.

How Does Affilorama Work?

Affilorama provides affiliate marketing training for beginners and advanced marketers. Here are some of their training products:

Pathway to Passive

– A guide which teaches you how to find a profitable niche, how to attract the right customers, how to convert buyers, and how to create compelling content.

Affilo Tools

– In the members area, you will be able to see your web stats. Affilo Tools is integrated with premium tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, MOZ and others to enable you to see all the necessary stats for your website.

Affilo Blueprint

– Step by step system showing you how to start an online business. This training is broken down into various lessons like keyword research, creating content, setting up your website, designing your website, and so on.

Affilo Jetpack

– You get a pre-made website with some content included, 90 email newsletters, and the Affilo WordPress theme.

If this feels too overwhelming, there are other options to help you make some side income without much of a learning curve such as sites like FusionCash.com, SurveyJunkie.com and Swagbucks.com.

How Much Does Affilorama Cost?

At the time of this review, they offer a free membership or $1 premium membership for 30 days. After that, you have the option of paying a membership fee of $67 per month. Their other pricing for some of their products include:

  • Pathway to Passive – $37.00
  • Affilo Tools – Part of the free membership
  • Affilo Blueprint – $197.00
  • Affilo Jetpack – $997.00

If you like the idea of being able to try an internet course for free, you will probably like Wealthy Affiliate. They provide similar training and tools as well. So you may want to compare both options since you have nothing to lose either way.

But eventually you do need to invest in your business. This may not sit right with everyone. Fortunately if you're interested in making some extra cash without investing in a business there are other sites like FusionCash.com, SurveyJunkie.com and Swagbucks.com that you may want to explore as well.

How Much Money Can You Make with Affilorama?

It's nice to see that Mark Ling doesn't make any crazy income claims or post hypey testimonials of income from his members. So it's unclear how much money you can actually make by applying their training. But I suspect like any business how much you make will vary depending on how you apply the training.

What We Like about Affilorama

Free Membership

They do offer quite a lot with the free membership plan. Free members get access to over 20 hours of videos, text based training, and their forum. The cool thing about this is you can try it out and see if their training is worth it to upgrade to a premium plan.

Membership area is easy to navigate

When you log into the membership, it is easy to find your way around. The lesson area is conveniently broken down into various sections. Just click on the training that appeals to you to get started. So it's great that they have made the training newbie friendly and don't overcomplicate things.

Affilorama Complaints

We can all agree that Affilorama has a lot of positives, but no company is perfect. Even with all the good stuff, we did find some red flags that may or may not be a deal breaker. Let's see what they are, and you can decide for yourself.

Low member activity

One of the main attractions of a membership site is to get help from other members. This happens regularly and in real time on sites like Wealthy Affiliate. Affilorama has over 600,000 users, but their forum appears kind of dead when our team checked it out. Their own stats show that the most number of users online was 878 on December 23rd, 2012. You would expect to see more activity.

Too many upsells and promotional emails

After signing up for the free or premium membership, you will be presented with various upsells and a lot of cross promotional emails. Mark Ling has a lot of affiliate partners so expect your email to be filled with offers. All this promotional spam is enough to give anyone a headache.

If you don't like the idea of lots of many upsells or being emailed by partners, you may want to look at Wealthy Affiliate as an alternative.

They promote PLR content

In the training, Affilorama advises you to use PLR articles. Private Label Rights (PLR) articles become yours once you buy them. Only problem is, everyone has access to buy the same article. Affilorama advises you to edit the articles heavily to avoid duplicate content. This is outdated and even they admit that this method is outdated. So I'm not sure why they still keep it as part of their training then. Writing new content or outsourcing it is a better option than wasting your time with PLR content.

Is There A Better Alternative to Affilorama?

Affilorama has a lot of good points but if there is anything in the complaints section that bothers you, there are a few other alternatives you might want to try.

If you are interested in starting an online internet business, My Best Work At Home Recommendation can show you how. If you aren't ready to commit to a business, and just want to make some extra income, you can try sites like FusionCash.com, SurveyJunkie.com and Swagbucks.com.

Is Affilorama A Scam or Not?

Affilorama is definitely not a scam and they have been in the affiliate marketing sphere for more than 10 years already. Even though they are legit, no company is perfect and there are some flaws. Despite these flaws, we still think their membership program provides solid information and training.

However if you want to consider other options, you may want to check out My Best Work At Home Recommendation can offer you that.

That's my review on Affilorama. Feel free to chime in and share your opinion or experiences down below.

Until next time,
