I'm a big fan of getting paid for things that I would do for free and that includes using the internet. Fortunately there are tons of reward based websites that will pay you for many of your web activities. So today in my EarnHoney Review, we'll determine if EarnHoney.com is worth it for you.
What is EarnHoney?
Earnhoney.com is another free to join reward based site that pays its members to use the internet. It was launched in September 2014 and at the time of this review it has a positive rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). After you join EarnHoney you can earn rewards for various online activities like taking surveys, playing games, watching videos, and participating in polls. It's very much like established legit sites such as FusionCash.com and Swagbucks.com.
Signing up is easy and only requires an email address and clicking on a sent verification email.
How to Make Money with EarnHoney
Like most reward based websites you can make money in different ways with Earnhoney. Just keep in mind you aren't actually being paid cash. They use that funny money called Honey Dollars or HD. But don't get pissed off. The HDs can be redeemed for real cash or things you can actually use in real life. We'll discuss the Honey Dollars to cash ratio later in the review. But let's discuss how you earn these mythical HDs first.
Honey Dollars can be earned right away by completing your profile when you sign up which is totally Free. There are also special offers, such as watching movie trailers or online video ads. You also earn HDs by logging in daily.
At the time of this review the main ways to earn include trying products and services (aka offers), watching movies, playing games and completing polls.
How Much Money Can You Earn with Earnhoney?
The amount of HoneyDollar$ earned varies by activity. Obviously the more difficult the activity the more you earn. For instance A one-minute video gives you 0.2 HDs. Ten minutes of playing a game can earn you up to 3 HDs. Polls vary widely based on the complexity and amount of time required. Partial HoneyDollar$, called Nectars, can also be earned. Nine Nectars equals one HoneyDollar.
So how can you figure out what HDs are actually worth in real money?
At the time of this review the ratio of HoneyDollar$ to dollars is 100:1. So that means you need 100 Honey Dollars to get one real dollar. To actually redeem $1 real dollar via an Amazon gift card you need a mime of 100 HDs. If you want actual cash you'll need 500 HDs to get a $5 paypal payment.
There are two redemption options, gift cards for Amazon or PayPal.
- With Amazon, there are four options in $1, $5, $10 and $25 increments.
- The other option is PayPal credit and comes in two increments: $5 and $25.
If you don't like to be limited to two options of pay, you may want to look into FusionCash.com and Swagbucks.com since they offer various ways of getting your hard earned money.
Earnhoney Hacks and Tips
If you're looking for ways to increase the rewards you earn with EarnHoney, check out the tips below.
1. Watching videos seems to be the most popular way of earning money on Earnhoney. Apparently Ads and videos are played automatically. There are a lot of users that open multiple windows of the EarnHoney videos. So in theory you can just let your browser run these Earn Honey videos in the background which means you can earn money passively. But reports on how effective that strategy is varies widely. Some users have even reported being banned as a result. So proceed at your own risk.
2. Refer friends to the site, and you'll earn 10 percent of their earnings for life. You can invite people using social media if you want. This is a safe one and can also provide you passive income. It's how I make a lot of my money and I teach how to get as many referrals as you want. Click here to learn how.
Complaints about Earnhoney
Unfortunately there are a lot of complaints about Earnhoney. They seem to focus on responsiveness of customer service, slow payouts and technical issues. Here are some of the common ones.
1. The videos don't work.
Users report that video ads don't play, crash the browser, or are never available. Some of this appears to be that early in the year when there were fewer ads available. Minimizing browsers and ad-supported browsers seem to cause most of the issues.
2. Redemptions are late or rejected.
There have been a number of complaints from Earn Honey members that their cash or gift cards haven't arrived on time. Some people have been flat out denied. The latter could be because people have willing or unwilling cheated the system.
3. Not working on Puffin.
Many users, especially with Android mobile devices, have complained that Earnhoney isn't working on the free, ad-supported Puffin browser. It does seem to work on the paid Puffin browser, which does not contain ads.
4. Houston, we have technical issues.
Users have complained regularly recently about getting a Blue Screen of Death, the page not loading, or needing to clear history, downloaded files, and cache. Others need to do a DNS flush at the command prompt. A recent server upgrade was reported as the cause of many of these problems.
5. Is anyone home?
Many users have complained of being ignored. And if you're not ignored you can expect a long response time for your questions.
6. Give me some credit here…
Apparently some users have complained that they have indeed watch the video ads but their account is not being credited. This seems to be issue-specific to certain advertisers, and not with Earnhoney itself. Or it may be a browser issue. Either way it's been a complaint for some users.
Is Earnhoney Legitimate or a Scam?
Despite the complaints, EarnHoney.com appears to be legit. Sure there are technical issues and some payments have been slow. But one of the cofounders is an active participant in some of the forums about EarnHoney. He answers complaints quickly and directly. He has also offered HoneyDollar$ if some complainants post screenshots and have a conversation with tech support. So this goes to show that the owners do actually care and taking action. So that's a good thing in my book.
But you may feel differently so I'd love for you to post your comments down below. Share your thoughts about this company.

I saw a lot of people saying that, they didn’t received money from earn honey after working on the platform. any thoughts about that?
I don’t know. There are some people that have been paid by the company. The problem with sites like this is you’re always going to find people that say both. So it’s hard to make a judegement call. What’s to say the people that didn’t get paid were violating some rules. Of course they say they didn’t but you don’t know for sure. So for me that’s why I’m big on multiple streams of income. I would never just focus on one company. I would work many and see which actually pay up or not.
I have been using Earnhoney for about a month with no issues. Then yesterday all my HD were mysteriously gone. Today I login and I have no HD and the login/sign-up option is still there. But when I click on it nothing happens.
Hey Jane,
Thanks for sharing this with us. That sucks. I hope they’re not going out of business. I’ve seen other sites do the same thing without warning. Its very shady.
Thank you for this post!
You’re welcome.
Earn honey is actually the best paying app I have ever tried. I use it to watch videos and let them auto play by themselves, passively without having to touch them. Easily makes $4 a day with 2 devices.
That’s pretty damn good. Keep us posted when you actually cash out or not.
I signed up for this site today and wanted to see some reviews. This is pretty comprehensive, thanks! I am going to give it a try. First to cash out, then to refer!
Sounds good Paul. Keep me posted on how you do. I’d love for you to report back.
Earnhoney has helped me build the gaming coming wanting to complete for quite some time. I also use other sites like Perk.tv and Swagbucks to assist, but here is what I have made using the site thus far.

Hi Eddy,
I had never heard of EarnHoney, it sounds very time consuming for little reward. Overall great article!
Best Wishes,
Robert
Robert I agree, it’s definitely involves more time than I think its worth for me. But it might be an option for others. Thanks for chiming in on the article.
