JustAnswer Review: Can You Really Get Paid To Answer Questions?

Links & ads you may click on this blog pay the bills & keep this site free for you. Thanks for supporting!

I remember what the world was like before the internet and it was definitely less convenient. Information is at your finger tips in seconds. But sometimes you need more than just reading a webpage. JustAnswer.com knows this and offers a service where people can get answers to questions from real experts via the internet. You are probably wondering if you can earn money giving expert answers and advice and have probably gone through a couple of JustAnswer reviews. Well, we have done the leg work for you and included everything you need to know about the website in this JustAnswer review, including all the dirt they wish you didn't know.

What is JustAnswer?

JustAnswer found at Justanswer.com is a question and answer website where professionals in different fields earn money by answering questions related to their fields of practice. JustAnswer was founded by current CEO Andy Kurtzig in San Francisco, CA back in 2003.

How Does JustAnswer Work?

As an expert, you get to register as a professional in your respective field. Once you sign up and you can verify that you are an actual professional in that field you become a verified professional with the site. To earn, all you have to do is watch out for questions that you can answer. If the visitor who poasted the question accepts your answer you get paid.

How Do I Become A JustAnswer Expert?

To become an expert at JustAnswer, all you have to do is sign up as an expert with the site. You'll choose your professional category. At JustAnswer it seems like they've included any profession imaginable. The most popular of course being health, legal, engineering and teaching.

During sign up they will ask for certain documents to prove your identity, qualification and experience. Once they verify these documents and accept you as an expert you can start making money by answering questions. If you prefer simpler ways to sign up and earn money online, sites like SurveyJunkie.com will pay you just to answer surveys.

What Do I Need To Join JustAnswer?

To join JustAnswer, you'll need a computer and reliable internet. The first step is to sign up with your full names and email. Once you are done you can start the eight-step sign process. To go through this process to the end, here's what you need.

  • A resume or CV in PDF or DOC format
  • Information proving your level of experience including employer's name and phone number. Also, the company you worked for and for how long.
  • Any professional license (license type, number, country and contact information about the licensing authority)
  • Your ID, driver's license or passport
  • A recent photo of you

They use real time software to check the documents, and it takes up to 10 minutes to approve. Then, once everything checks out you can start browsing for questions to answer in your category.

Does giving out all that information make you feel uncomfortable? If it does, you can earn money without having to give up so much information at sites like SurveyJunkie.com, Swagbucks.com or Fusioncash.com. And if you're looking to earn a real full time and part time income online, check out My Best Work At Home Recommendation.

How Much Money Can I Make with JustAnswer?

For starters, you'll make 20% of the cost of the answer. Then with time you can work your way up to 50%. It appears most questions pay between $2 and $5, but this largely depends on the field of expertise and the question itself. All in all, once you make $20 or more you can request for payment via PayPal.

There's simply no telling how much money you can make, but the best paying professions are in the fields of Medicine, Engineering and Teaching.

What We Like About JustAnswer

You get to earn money doing what you are good at.

Being an expert at JustAnswer can be rewarding if you are looking for a cool way to use the knowledge you spent years in dusty college halls getting. You get to help out people with real problems all the while making money.

PayPal Payment

PayPal is a sure online banking option and by far one of the most convenient. It's also available in most countries so you don't have to worry about how you'll get your money.

Positive BBB

At the time of writing this review JustAnswer's rating with the Better Business Bureau is a solid A+ which may make you feel secure if you live and die by BBB ratings.

JustAnswer Complaints

So far you only know what's good with the site. What you don't know is that there are a few red flags you are probably better off knowing about before you sign up. So let's dive into them.

You don't get paid for just any question you answer

It is possible to answer questions and not make money out of it. If the client rejects your answer you don't get paid. So you might work your ass off but if they reject the answer it becomes a complete waste of time. Damn!

It's hard getting verified

Signing up is a painful process that involves documents, taking photos, giving your identity away and they maybe they might even not invite you in. It's an interview for a professional job like any other. People have complained of not making the cut even when their documents are legit.

Fortunately you don't have to jump through hoops like that to earn money at sites like SurveyJunkie.com, Swagbucks.com or Fusioncash.com.

The answers don't pay that well

Don't expect to make a shitload of money at JustAnswer. In fact, they only pay you 20% of the cost of the answer. Sometimes there are barely enough damn questions to answer. Experts working with the site have complained of having to wait for weeks before getting enough questions to request for payout. If you're looking to make a real full time income, then you may want to look into My Best Work At Home Recommendation.

Is JustAnswer A Scam?

JustAnswer is not a scam, they have been around for years and they have a positive BBB rating. We also didn't come across anyone who reported an outright scam. You'll however need to prove that you are actually a professional, with the long sign up process and a bunch of documents.

If you are not comfortable with all that you might want to try out other sites SurveyJunkie.com, Swagbucks.com or Fusioncash.com that don't require you to have a fancy college degree. In fact, if you are out to make real money online working part time or full time, check out My Top Work At Home Recommendation.

Well, that's my two cents about JustAnswer. If you have yours, we would love to read about it in the comments section below.

Until next time

  1. I am a monthly subscriber to Just Answer. It is easy to sign up for the Trial Period and a bit difficult to cancel – foreign people, weird hours, can’t get to a human, etc.

BUT as far as asking questions and getting answers: It is 100% legit as a business. Like any market, there are good, better, and best Answerers. I have had some that have worked with me for hours, step by step, and repaired vehicles and appliances. I’d rather spend $34 for a whole month of ability to ask anything I need vs $89 per hour or more to a repair person who ends up being a rip off.

I have done auto repairs myself that the dealer wanted $200 for. I got the part for $30 and a friend installed in under an hour!! My Father-in-law has tackled some car repairs for me after we were sent diagrams I could not find online and “tips” on how “the real mechanics know to do it”.

Yes, a lot of the information can be found on the internet but sometimes it needs to be tweaked for my exact situation. Just make sure you use it once a month and instantly regain your $34 in house calls or service fees.

I landed here while searching how much the experts really get paid. I feel bad if they really are only getting 20% because most of them give information that is much more valuable than that in my real life world!! There is a place to add a tip and some definitely deserve it!!

  2. 20% of a $2 question doesn’t exactly blow my socks off, But I’m interested in trying it– the pay correlates roughly with other sites akin to it. And although I will never make a pot of coffee and mute the TV & iPhone as I prepare myself for a long night of grinding out those quarters and dimes; I WILL however use it in my down times (waiting in line somewhere, in the car, or even yes– while using the bathroom (don’t you DARE JUDGE!! You do it too! Or pick your nose, etc) – utilizing it just as I do with other sites– my question is– what if there isnt any degrees or certifications? I’m self taught- I’ve been trading Forex for 9 years– that being 99.8% of my income (the other .02% is online sites like these; making MAYBE $800 or $900 a year–Not much $$$ I know, but it’s better than having to read my wife’s Cosmo magazine on the toilet.) Does being able to live comfortably while staying wonderfully unemployed for 8.5 years count for anything? Or do I need to fire up my old printer as I look fo college degree templates?

  3. You folks who work for these scammers are likely legit. But be aware that the way they treat their customers is a scam and a sham. They have this “under the radar” approach of “use our service for a trial (just watch out for the monthly fee that we don’t warn you about)”. I go suckered and I am not the only one. Beware.

  4. I just filled out the application to be an expert. Master Certified with over 20 years of experience. I will let you know how long it takes to get verified, or if they reject. Thank you for the insight on this website.

    • Uh, bots are blocked on this site. So anyone that leaves a comment is a real person. Maybe she works for the company? I have no idea. But her comment doesn’t make the article I’ve written any less trustworthy. I’ve been helping people find legit work at home and avoid scams for over a decade. Just because you don’t agree with someone who comments doesn’t take away from the legitimacy of the article or site.

If you don’t believe the comment or have different experiences with this company, then feel free to share that. That’s what the comments are for. So if you have something to say about your experience with the company reviewed above, then leave your feedback. That will be more useful than trying to plant doubts about this content.

    • If you don’t pay the membership you will speak with bots, but when you become a member then you have access to the real professionals, I just try it

    • I’m not sure what you mean if this is real. I laid out how it works including the good and bad. Clearly it exist and is real. I don’t know about the other company you mentioned.
