What Is Kannaway? Hemp Oil Hustler Scam Or Legit

It didn't surprise me a bit when I stumbled across yet another MLM peddling NEW products which supposedly make you feel and look better, and at the same time, put a lot of dough in your bank account. Almost all these companies claim that their stuff is based on natural ingredients which can magically help you lose weight or get rid of wrinkles. In my experience the results don't really live up to the hype. But as always I try to keep an open mind so let's see if Kannaway is a different type of company.

What Is Kannaway?

Kannaway, LLC was founded in 2014 and is marketed as a Hemp Lifestyle Company with a focus on nutritional wellness whose products contain CBD rich hemp oil. The sole owner of General Hemp is Stuart Titus. Products for Kannaway's business will exclusively be supplied by HempMedsPX, LLC, which is a distributor of federally legal, hemp-based CBD products and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Medical Marijuana, Inc. (MJNA)

What Are the Kannaway Products?

All their products are based on hemp oil and its supposed health benefits. The product line includes:

• Beauty Define Sav is a cream/ointment with CBD rich hemp oil in it to give it that healthy kick.

• Hemp Vap Pen is like those electronic cigarettes but with CBD hemp oil. The idea behind this is safe smoking with vapors which is a healthy alternative to smoking real cigarettes.

• Kannakick Energy Chews are like a fruit chew but with caffeine and CBD rich hemp oil in it.

Many people assume that hemp and hemp oil contain hallucinogenic properties you could get high from, but this is not the case.

Kannaway emphasizes this fact in their HempVAP description:

“HempVAP ? introduces a first of its kind hemp-based CBD oil vaporizer pen. This cool and sleek-looking custom designed vaporizer doesn't use high-nicotine for an intense “buzz” like other vapes, electronic cigarettes, and hookahs do. That means, no smoke, no nicotine, and NO HIGH. The unique and innovative HempVAP ? is the premium alternative for everyday use”.

What is the Kannaway Business Opportunity?

Well, the owner calls it a “Unique MLM” and that makes it clear what the opp is. A simple MLM. The only difference is that distributors of the products are called “Brand Ambassadors” and that they have to pay a monthly membership fee of $29.99, from which NO commissions are created, to be able to sell Kannaway products.

Other than that, you are looking at a typical MLM scheme like all the other in the industry. It comes with the requirements of having to buy the product, take out a standing order, reach a certain sales volume every month and recruit new members into your down line. It also comes with a convoluted compensation plan which is more complicated and harder to understand than any other. What are the Kannaway Complaints and Concerns?

The company is only a little over one year old and it seems that the whole thing has not really taken off yet. Of course, you will get a lot of hits by googling ‘kannaway‘ or ‘kannaway review‘. Most of the sites are either from Brand Ambassadors looking for new customers, or from ‘MLM haters'. However, I could find some early complaints and concerns I think are important enough to tell you about.

You Can't Get High

Personally I don't really mess with weed. I'm more of a Jack Daniels type of dude. But even when I hear Hemp, I can't help but think of weed or “ciga-weed” for my Friday Movie fans. But apparently there are dozens of complaints from users of the Kannaway HempVap that were let down because they couldn't get “a high” from the hemp vapor. But that's what happens when you don't read. Because Kannaway is pretty clear that their products aren't intended to provide that type of experience. Maybe some of these people were high off that stuff when they purchased the product.

Why do I have to pay a monthly membership fee?

They say that the membership fee is for marketing material, the training you will get and the use of their pre-designed websites. First off, they don't make it clear what the training is all about. That leaves open the questions if it's any good and can it help you to build your business. And secondly, having a website can be very useful to find new customer. However, these sites on company networks look all alike with very similar content, and will not rank high with the search engines. Does the training include how to create content, perform SEO and how to generate traffic to the site? I doubt that seriously.

Can YOU make money as Brand Ambassador?

Too soon to tell, and we will have to wait until we hear from the ‘early birds'. If you are an ‘MLM rock star' and fully understand the concept of networking, you may give it a try given the early stage Kannaway is in, and able to make some decent money. Otherwise, you most likely will end up in the 97% of MLM distributors that make little or no money at all. This is a well know fact and the downside with all MLM companies.

Kannaway products may NOT be LEGAL!

The company claims that their hemp based products are legal in all 50 States. That is not quite true. Fact is that only 18 States have addressed this issue and allow ‘hemp growing for some industrial use‘. However, the ways these laws are written leave a gray area, and the company is interpreting current law in a way that was never intended (find details in this Forbes article).

Is Kannaway a Scam?

Kannaway seems like a typical MLM that sells tangible products that may appeal to certain people. But It needs to be seen if all of their products are legal under the existing federal and state laws. It's also very early in the company's life so I tend to wait until a company can prove itself for a while before I jump in. I don't buy the whole hype that you need to get in early nonsense. I've joined many companies after all the fan fare and still made money so I'm not falling for that carrot.

So with that said, I would recommend just waiting it out to see what's left when the dust settles.
