There is no denying the fact that we will do anything to stay healthy and keep our family healthy too. The health and supplement industry is one of the largest and most profitable industries today. But did you know that some health companies will actually pay you to sell their products? I’m sure you already knew this and decided to read up on some Max International reviews to see if this is a legit opportunity. This Max International review will uncover the truth, so read this shocking review before deciding to join!
What is Max International?
MaxInternational.com was founded in 2007 and based in Utah. One of the founders, Steven K Scott, is most famous for creating the Total Gym ads with Chuck Norris and Christie Brinkley that were successful in the 1990s, resulting in over $2.5 billion in sales. When Scott met Dr. Herbert T. Nagasawa, who was doing research on glutathione and had developed the RiboCeine compound, Max International was born.
Max International Product Line
Max International sells a line of supplements designed to boost glutathione levels. Their most famous product is Cellgevity, which allegedly helps detox and optimize cellular functions. They also sell a weight management supplement, and some meal replacement products.
Max International product ingredients are backed by a lot of scientific research, but many of those studies are about the benefits of specific tested antioxidants, rather than testing the Max International formulas and supplements themselves. However, the company does make reasonable product claims, that are based on research and studies.
How Much Does it Cost to Be A Max International Associate?
It costs $49.95 to become a Max International Associate, but you can only join with a referral from an existing associate. There does also seem to be a method to bypass a sponsorship or referral by simply purchasing products and paying an activation fee, but the preferred method is through a direct referral.
All associates get:
- A virtual office software suite that lets you view and track orders and commissions from anywhere in the world (this costs $25/year)
- A 90 day training program, with videos and worksheets to help you grow your business
- A mobile app for communication with your Max team
- MyMaxPay, which allows you to instantly transfer commissions to your bank account or to a prepaid Visa card, or easily purchase more Max International products
Max International Compensation Plan
As we can see from the graph on page 5 of the compensation plan, the real money with Max International is to be made from recruitment, rather than product sales. Also, despite the length and complexity of the plan, it doesn't include a lot of specific details about bonus amounts, commission percentages, and hard figures found in other compensation plans.
At the time of this review, Max Associates have to maintain a 100PV monthly to remain active and eligible for commissions, and 50PV of that must be generated from personal orders. The company suggests that you set yourself up to auto-ship products to maintain your needed PV and remain eligible for commissions. You earn up to 25% commissions on purchases for every Preferred Customer you enroll, and cash bonuses for every new Associate you enroll.
If you look at the compensation plan there are different generations, teams in each generation, and your binary tree which will consist of your left leg and right leg. When you enroll a new associate, you can choose whether to place them in your left or right leg.
All this talk of generations, teams and different legs is enough to make anyone’s head spin. MLMs are known to have confusing compensation plans so I don’t blame you if you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed.
Fortunately, there are businesses with straight forward compensation plans such as Wealthy Affiliate where you know exactly how much you will be earning. It’s also FREE to get started.
Maybe you are not looking for a business opportunity at the moment and just looking for something to bring you some side income, then you might want to explore free sites like SurveyJunkie.com, Swagbucks.com, and FusionCash.com.
How Much Money Can You Make with Max International?
The company's most recent income disclosure statement was made in 2011, and shows that one associate, at Double Crown level, earned more than $2 million in that year, while almost 65% of associates earned an average of $227 for the year.
What We Like About Max International
Let’s get into some of the things we like about Max International.
Good BBB Rating
It's rare for an MLM with 12 years in business to have zero complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau, but Max International has a great record in that respect and an A+ rating at the time of this review.
Backed by Scientific Studies
While some of the Max International scientific studies don't exactly prove the specific health claims made by their products, there's no doubt that there is a lot of applicable, impartial research regarding these antioxidants and their effects on the body.
Max International Complaints
No business is 100% perfect, so let’s take a look at some of the complaints that we found.
You better like recruiting…
To move higher up in the compensation plan and potentially earn more commissions, you will need to build your left and right leg of your teams so you can earn from your downline.
It’s annoying that there is this emphasis on recruiting others to earn more with the company. If that idea rubs you the wrong way as well, you might be better off trying sites like My Best Work At Home Recommendation, SurveyJunkie.com, Swagbucks.com, and Fusioncash.com. These sites don’t require you to recruit to make money.
Expensive products
The Cellgevity regimen costs about $85 for a one month supply, which is more than double the cost of other glutathione supplements on Amazon. The average person may buy a product once to try it out, but you may be hard-pressed to find enough repeat buyers to meet your minimum sales requirement. People will likely shop around for prices and find similar alternatives online that are cheaper than Max International.
No Income Disclosure Statement?
An income disclosure is a great way to determine what you could potentially earn and most MLMs provide this. But unfortunately, Max International doesn’t publish any figures of what their associates have earned. This may not be a deal-breaker for you, but the lack of transparency leaves a few unanswered questions.
Is Max International Legit or a Scam?
Max International is not a scam. But is it a good opportunity to make money? Even with all the medical studies about the effectiveness of glutathione and other antioxidants, the price of the products won’t be justified for certain people, and it makes it difficult for associates to sell. People are price conscious, so they might go for the same product that is cheaper from another online retailer regardless if a rep claims the alternatives are lesser products.
It's also hard to make money in any business but it is more difficult with an MLM business model because you have the recruiting aspect. This type of business model might not be for everyone. If you are looking for a full-time or part-time income opportunity, you may want to try My Best Work At Home Recommendation. It's FREE to get started, so that might be worth checking out if you want to start an online business.
So there you have my opinion on Max International. If you have any other questions, you might find the answer on their FAQ page. If you have any experience using Max International or want to share your thoughts, please feel free to leave a comment below.
