OpinionSquare Review ScamBeing opinionated can be a good or bad thing. It all depends on if people really want to hear your opinions or not. Well today it's a great thing because I found a company that actually wants to hear and pay for your opinions. If you're interested, then read my honest OpinionSquare Review below.

What is OpinionSquare?

“You've got opinions? Earn rewards for sharing them.” Well, at least that's the claim that OpinionsSquare is making. Located at Opinionsquare.com, this website provides you with the opportunity to influence the content and services that are provided offline as well as online. That's a pretty wide spectrum.

OpinionSquare is operated by TMRG, “an organization dedicated to managing a leading market research community comprised of millions of Internet and mobile consumers from around the globe.” TMRG's goal is to “help companies understand trends and patterns online and on the mobile internet.” For example, the internet community might use TMRG's services to understand the likes and dislikes of internet users. Having that kind of information, allows companies to make more informed decisions about the products and services they provide online.

How to Make Money with OpinionSquare?

There are several ways in which you can earn money with OpinionSquare. So let's dive into them, shall we?

Completing online surveys

As a member of Opinion Square, you'll be invited to take part in 3 to 4 online surveys on a monthly basis. As a survey taker, you also get to participate in their sweepstakes as well.

Sweepstakes

OpinionSquare has a variety of sweepstakes offers you can take part in. As a survey taker, you get the opportunity to to play the “instant win game link” that offers a chance to win $50, $2500, or $5,000. Two players are guaranteed to win $50 each month. Hopefully, you'd be one of those players. In addition, to this, each time you take an online survey, you're entered into the massive cash prize draw of $100,000. Well, wouldn't that be something if you won that prize.

Play online games

If you have the time, why not? Tokens received from surveys can be used to play online games, from which you can collect points. These points can be used to redeem rewards as well.

Watching TV and web surfing

Imagine that. Making a little something extra watching TV. You can opt to share your TV watching habits and patterns with OpinionSquare and earn extra rewards. You can also share your web surfing information and earn rewards as well. All you need to do is download their web browsing application and you're good to go. Utilizing these two opportunities actually puts you in a position to receive more surveys. More surveys means more rewards!

How do I get paid with OpinionSquare?

Apart from the sweepstakes offers, you can earn cash or gift cards for participating in special surveys. Once you've accumulated 1,500 points, you can request a $5 Amazon E-Card. For 2,500 points you can request $10 gift certificate to Amazon, Walmart, Kmart, and you've got lots more options. Well, OpinionSquare offers over 21,000 reward items you can choose from. Categories include electronics, health and personal care, automotive, home and garden, and music and musical instruments and more. But you've got to rack up those points!

How Do You Join OpinionSquare?

First you need to agree that you've read their privacy policy. Once you've done that, complete the security check, by entering both words in the captcha box, then hit the “Join Now” button. You'll be taken to a page to complete your profile; name, email, address, gender, date of birth etc. This is standard information for most survey sites. The third step requires you to answer a few profile questions and the fourth and final step is installing the OpinionSquare software on your computer. That's it. Oh, and it's absolutely free.

Potential members must be 18 years and over and eligibility requirements include residents of the U.S. and Canada. Residents of other countries may also access the site and receive surveys, however only select rewards can be accessed. Yeah, you don't get access to all of the offered rewards. But that's okay, because if you are looking for an opportunity without that kind of restriction, then you might want to consider my Top Free Work At Home Recommendation.

OpinionSquare Hacks or Tips

Surveys are optional

Don't simply focus on the surveys. To maximize your earning potential, try and engage in all the other reward related activities that OpinionSquare has to offer.

Download the software

Only if you're okay with the idea. But if you want to increase your earnings, downloading the software allows you to get more surveys.

OpinionSquare Complaints and Concerns

Okay, now this is by far one of the better survey companies I've come across. I am sure you'll agree that it's great to get rewarded for sharing your opinions, especially when they can help make positive changes to products and services. But even so, the amount of points you earn and the rewards you actually receive, depends on quite a number of variables that are outside of your control. So before you jump into this, you should definitely check out some of the complaints and the concerns.

Software download required

Yep. To increase your eligibility for surveys, you have to install OpinionSquare's software. The more information they get from you regarding your internet surfing habits, they can send you more appropriate surveys. But if you don't have the appropriate system requirements, then you may just lose out.

I got a virus?!

Arrgghh!! Apparently some virus protection software will view the OpinionSquare software as a virus. It's unclear if this is just the virus programs being over cautious or the software is actually malicious. Either way it may freak some of you out.

Hey, where did the survey go?

Oh man, I really wanted to take that particular survey, but it's no longer there. Why? Well, once the desired number of responses have been reached for a survey, that's it. That survey is no longer available.

A few more Complaints and Concerns

I did not qualify again!

Okay, so when it comes to surveys, demographics are important. If your demographics aren't a good fit for what the company is looking for, then you'll be disqualified from taking the survey. Even so, you'll still receive a token.

Use it or loose it baby

Tokens expire within the quarter you receive them. So use it or loose it! Play those online games baby.

One survey in the past year?

How the hell is anyone supposed to make some money here? How long am I supposed to hold on for a survey? Really?! Feels like I am wasting my time here.

Lack of privacy?

Here's the thing. While downloading the software allows you to get more surveys, doing so allows OpinionSquare to discretely collect your internet surfing information. This is why you have to agree to the privacy policy before you get started. It's not like they are sharing your information, well that's what they say.

Is OpinionSquare Legitimate or a Scam?

As a research community, OpinionSquare is as legitimate as they come. It's an opportunity for you to help businesses improve their financial services, consumer products, health care, travel, retail, and a host of other industries. But the thing is, if your helping these companies, do such an important task, shouldn't your opinion be worth more than just a $5 Amazon gift card? Hey, just saying. If you don't mind investing your time and effort for chump change, then go for it.

But if you're like me and you like to think outside the box, in this case, outside the square, then you definitely need to check out my Top Free Work At Home Recommendation and my Work At Home Courses. With multiple streams of income, you can earn way more than just tokens and gift cards.

Okay, so that's it from me. I've said my piece, now it's up to you to make your decision. As always, thanks for reading and feel free to let me know what you think about this.

Until next time,

  2. instead of me making money here, already the only way to move ahead is to pick an offer and then I’m asked to pay money. I must have missed something when I was reading the instructions . Now this is some bullshit

  3. There is no possible way to earn anything, nor redeem what little you may have miraculously accumulated before your “points” expires. There are hardly any surveys given within that amount of time, nor are there any other ways of making points. They don’t show you the amount you have accumulated, nor gives you an option to redeem. You may take a survey once every season or two, and make nothing from doing so, yet the program made cash from the information you’ve surrendered. If you install their spyware, they accumulate your banking, searching, emails, and photos, etc. You make nothing from installing it, yet they make tons of cash from this information, tho they claim it’s strictly confidential. It does not help find surveys that fits your profile.

  4. Hey Eddy

I think there are too many tricks with this one and particularly I don’t like the idea about downloading some software. Something is not clear there 🙂 I have read so many articles about similar programs that I put all of them in one box. Perhaps this is a good idea for some teenagers – but as your wrote you have to be 18 to qualify. So anyway I find this as waste of time and I believe ones time should be spent more useful.

  5. Hello Eddy,
Thanks for sharing your review on Opinions square. In today`s economy, everyone is looking for ways to earn extra income, I guess that`s why I’m here reading this.
Having said that, making money taking surveys online is not one of the best ways to make money, the pay is low, qualifying for surveys is not always guaranteed, and to spend 5-10 minutes answering a survey only to be disqualified mid way because you are not a match for the survey really suck.
As someone living outside the USA, I soon realized it`s almost impossible to make money taking surveys, they are far between and most pay mostly $1 or less. Now 20-minute survey for $2 might not sound so bad, but if you can only do 2-3 surveys a month or even less in other parts of the world, then surveys are not the quick money we want to believe they are.
Really enjoyed reading your review thanks for sharing your know how.

    • Yeah it’s even harder to qualify for these survey sites outside the US. And that says a lot since it’s hard for folks here in the US to qualify. So I agree with your assessment.

  6. I’ve fallen sucker to these types of online survey companies before. It’s seems pretty great to just do the odd survey and get paid for it, but the amount of time and effort that is required to make just a few cents, dollars or credits, is definitely not worth your time. I’ve also seen other sites where, like you mentioned here, you never end up qualifying for the surveys.

Thanks for this in-depth and honest review. I also believe that these companies can help you earn some each cash, you just have to be willing to put a lot of time into them, or, hit the survey qualifying jackpot 🙂

  7. Hello! I wonder if there is someone that still believes in a “random” poll of a monthly prize? Honestly, i am seeing admins of the site who hand pick the winners (who will be sort of a friend of them) or a mother, sister etc :). but all other things are interesting. I wonder, though, is there any statistics of what is an average income of an average reviewer there?

    • That’s a great question that I’m sure we’ll never get a real answer about. I don’t know if all these companies that host these sweepstakes are guilty of what you’re saying. But I’ve never been a big fan of just hoping to make money with things like that. Although I use to win sweepstakes all the time when InstantCashSweepstakes.com was around. It was one of the few survey sites i would still engage.

  8. Hi Eddy with a y,

I like the idea of OpinionSquare, but I don’t like that you have to download a software in order to get the most out of it.

And the fact that it may contain viruses doesn’t help either.

Do you know how must it costs to enter the Sweepstakes by any chance? Those would be fun if it’s not too costly. 🙂

    Thanks for the thorough review.

    • Hey Ian, I agree that the whole downloading software is going to scare a lot of folks away and i don’t blame them. I don’t think there is an actual real cost to enter the sweepstakes. You seem to be entered when you take surveys. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I appreciate it.
