We live in the internet world where everything comes fast. So it's no surprise people want that when it comes to making money or losing weight. And of course there are people and companies that want to meet this need. Just watch TV for a few minutes and you'll see someone claiming to have a quick fix to lose weight. Most of these programs don't have any money making angle to them for the consumers.
But that has changed with weight loss shakes like Shakeology and the 21 Day Fix. So are these products really miracle weight loss aids, as well as a decent way to earn money at home? Or is it, like so many of it's predecessors, just another way to throw good money at a bad product? Well you're about to find out as you read my Team BeachBody Coach review. I just want to be upfront that I'm not part of this company. So I'll be a lot more objective than the reviews you have probably read by team beachbody coaches. What is Team Beachboy?
Team Beachbody is a subsidiary of Beachbody. Beachbody, created in 1998 by Carl Daikeler and Jon Congdon in Santo Monica, California. Beachbody is a fitness company that focuses on both workout, nutrition and portion control. It is different from other weight loss programs because it provides more of a holistic approach to weight loss which is a good thing. They don't promise quick fixes or instantaneous results. Team Beachbody is a direct marketing component to Beachbody. It's a network of independent sales representatives they refer to as Coaches. Coaches sell their products, and offer advice and encouragement to their clients.
What Products Does Team Beachbody Offer?
They offer a number of different products including nutritional supplements, portion control systems and home workouts. Their product line includes:
– 21 Day Fix Extreme – $59.85
– P90X3 Extreme – $119.85
– Focus T25 – $59.85
– Shakeology (30 servings) – $129.95
Plus many others. The products are designed for home use.

How do you Make Money as a Team Beachbody Coach?
The commission rate is 25% of sales. It does not increase or decrease over time. Some people don't actually sell any product, they just sign up to be a coach for the 25% discount for their own use of the products. Not surprising the way to really make money in this company is to bring on other coaches. The potential earnings schedule is as follows: You have to sell at least $55 worth of products in the past 35 days to retain eligibility for bonuses. Otherwise, you only earn your commission, no bonuses.
Team Beachbody Coach Complaints
1. Fees, fees, fees
The initial start-up fee is not unreasonable. It's $39.95 to sign up as a coach. Not a bad investment start your own business. However, the fees don't end there. To remain active you have to pay a $15.95 per month fee. They say this is to maintain your personal webpage and give you access to exclusive coaching tools. Most coaches report that they never use any of this, but have to pay the fee anyway. They also offer a program for $2.99 per week to steer leads your way. If someone signs up directly through Beachbody without a coach, they will send that person to one of the coaches who has paid this weekly fee. It doesn't sound like much, but it adds up to about $155 annually. This does not even guarantee you will get any leads this way, it's just a possibility. They also have conferences they encourage coaches to attend that cost hundreds of dollars. It's easy to make the connection here that the fees for being a coach really do add up. If you aren't careful, you can spend your whole profit margin in fees.
Fortunately there are other ways to make money online and you don't have to worry about endless monthly fees. You can make money taking surveys at SurveyJunkie.com. 2. Success Rate is Slim.
Most people joining this opportunity are obviously interested in becoming slim or helping others do so. But you never want to go into business knowing your chances of succeeding are slim. Apparently 50% of coaches will see less than $500 a year from Beachbody. Some go into it knowing this, others are hoping to find a way to work from home to help support their families. When you consider the monthly fees associated with coaching, it's easy to see that this is not an easy way to earn a living. But if running a business was guaranteed success then everyone would do it. So it's the risk you take with this or any business.
3. Stop Charging My Card!!!
Unfortunately this is a common complaint we found online. While they offer money-back guarantees, it seems that many have trouble taking them up on that offer. Team BeachBody claims they will refund the money in a certain number of days, then when that day comes around, they keep pushing it back. Or they keep charging your card and sending products monthly even after confirming your cancellation. It happens a lot, to coaches and customers. If you are selling these products to friends and family, this can lead to a lot of strained relationships.
4. You better be social
Making money as a Team Beachbody Coach requires a lot of social media attention. You cannot be in introvert and be successful here. Many of the coaches post before and after pictures on social media to show results, workout segments and keep the tips coming for your followers. Doing this will help you recruit customers or other coaches. Otherwise you, and Beachbody, will be forgotten in favor of the next big weight loss gimmick.
5. Shakeology is Expensive & Doesn't Work
Shakeology is a meal replacement shake. It has better nutrition than other products on the market, but does not provide enough calories to really replace a meal. Plus, it's expensive. It runs about $4 per serving (if you buy in bulk on auto-shipment) and only packs about 140 calories per serving. Even with the added milk, you are only looking at around 400 calories per servicing. This will simply not work as a long-term meal replacement. Like so many other weight loss products, it will leave the customer still hungry, thus negating the weight loss properties it boasts.
Is Team Beachbody Coach a Pyramid Scheme or Not?
Pyramid Schemes work by recruiting people that pay to be part of your scheme. Then the money collected is used to pay the people above you who recruited your and up the latter. There is no real product. Whereas Team Beachbody does have real products that people enjoy and do purchase. The only element that may appear like a pyramid scheme is the more people under you, the more you make with BeachBody.
That said it does not appear to be an outright scam in the purest sense of the word. That said it is not an opportunity that is right for everyone. You have to be an extrovert, have a good grasp on how to gain followers on social media, and want to lead people.If you are passionate about fitness, want to buy the products anyway, and get genuine pleasure out of helping others achieve fitness success, this may be a good opportunity for you.
But if you're more of introvert and not really passionate about fitness or their products then this may not be for you. No, it is not a scam but it is a multi level marketing endeavor. To even get the possibility of making any money you have to put out quite a bit of money to be a coach or to stay active. You also need to hound everyone you know to buy the products. The coach who recruited me was very aggressive and appeared to be very interested in me and my life, but the moment I signed, she was pretty much gone. The workouts are great, the shakes and supplements, not so great. There’s better on the market and for less. If you’re lucky you get some help from the coach you were assigned or the coach who signed you. I had virtually zero help. Which meant learning it all on my own and making quite a few mistakes that cost me money. You can work full-time on growing this “business” for less than part-time compensation. The rules change all the time. And the ways you can earn continue to change and benefit their top diamond coaches. I was a coach for seven years. I hung in there. It wasn’t like I got started and then gave up because it was too hard. But it did get harder and harder to make money without nearly accosting everyone you meet with this opportunity for their health and fitness. People are really vulnerable about that. But when people start running away from you when they see you coming or start hiding you on Facebook because of all your posts, there’s something wrong. It is no different than any other multilevel marketing company. If you attend all the coach summits and as many events as possible and meet the CEO, celebrity trainers and a lot of the top earners you may get somewhere and you may get some help. But I don’t guarantee it. The financial outlay ends up being enormous. The hook is they tell you it’s very inexpensive to get involved as a coach. And a lot of people not only want to help themselves, but want to help other people be healthy. It really plays on your emotions. But the costs mount and mount. But unless you are a top earner you really are on your own. If you need something to do and have money to spend, go for it. I recommend you just start your own business doing something that you love and you are good at without contributing to the multi millions made by this company. When I started out there were about 22,000 coaches throughout the US. But now with it being in Mexico and Canada there are hundreds of thousands of team beach body coaches. There’s nothing really new and the market is already saturated with all the health and fitness products, workouts and supplements that are out there. Find something else to do that pays you instead of you having to pay the organization to be a part of it. And that’s my educated two cents.
