We all have stuff we no longer use laying around the house, including books. If you are wondering what to do with them, sites like TextBookRush claim they can buy them from you. But you probably know this, and that's why you're going through several TextBookRush reviews to know whether there's any catch.
Well, if you want the truth, be glad you're here. Because we have all the good, the bad and the ugly about the company. So I would strongly suggest you read this TextBookRush review. You've been warned!
What is TextBookRush?
TextBookRush found online at TextBookRush.com is an online bookstore that claims to buy, sell and rent out textbooks, ebooks video games and movies. The company was founded in 2002 by its current President Philip Smyers and they are headquartered at 802 Avondale Ave, Grandview Heights, OH.
How Does TextBookRush Work?
As mentioned earlier, they say you can buy, sell or rent new and used textbooks, ebooks, video games and movies. Buying is pretty simple, all you have to do is look up a title or ISBN number, add it to your cart and checkout, but you'll have to sign up first.
Selling is also pretty much straightforward. You'll first check if they're buying the title at that time. They'll give you a quote detailing how much they're willing to pay you for the item. If you accept the deal they'll give you a free prepaid shipping label that you'll use to send the book to them. If everything checks out once they get your book they'll pay you within 10 days, or you can get store credit within a day. Same goes for movies and video games.
TextBookRush Prices
The amount you can earn on the books you sell to TextBookRush largely depends on the demand for book. They immediately give you a quote if they're buying what you wish to sell. But it seems they mostly buy college textbooks, vintage movies and popular video games.
How Much Money Can I Make With TextBookRush?
As mentioned earlier this will vary depending on what you're selling and the demand. You can probably make decent money selling college textbooks, bestselling novels, vintage movies and popular games. But just don't expect to make a profit. A quick spot check by my research team shows they don't buy books, movies or games for anything close to the real market price. You'll be lucky to get half the amount you paid for the item when you first bought it.
If you don't like anything you've just read, did you know you can start making money online right away without having to sell anything? Sites like InboxDollars.com, Swagbucks.com, and FusionCash.com will pay you for online activities you do such as playing games, watching videos or downloading apps and many other things. A company like SurveyJunkie.com will also pay you to take surveys.

How Does TextBookRush Pay You?
TextBookRush pays via PayPal, check or store credit. They say you can expect to get paid within 10 days if you choose either PayPal cash or check, but store credit takes at least 24 hours.
How Do I Get Started with TextBookRush?
To start buying or selling on TextBookRush, all you have to do is sign up with an email and a password. Once you verify your email you can start trading on the site.
TextBookRush Complaints
This is the part of the review I know you're most interested in, where we separate the legit from the shady. Well, we found a few red flags we thought you should know about. So don't judge TextBookRush by its cover. Instead, read and decide for yourself whether it is worth your time.
Don't quit your day job
I highly doubt the average person can pay their bills selling books they don't need. Especially when you consider that TextBookRush does not pay for books at close to the full market price. So this isn't something most people can make consistent money with.
But don't worry. You don't need to have something to sell, in order to make money online. You can make money at home taking surveys at sites like SurveyJunkie.com or doing what you already do online like playing games, reading emails and watching videos at InBoxDollars.com, Swagbucks.com and FusionCash.com.
But if you want a real work at home opportunity that will pay the bills, check out My Best Work At Home Recommendation.
Where's my money?
We came across a couple of complaints on their Better Business Bureau page of sellers who claimed they never got paid for their books. Others had to call customer service numerous times before they got paid.
I Just Got Banned!!
Some users got their accounts terminated with no reasonable explanation why. And if you follow up with customer service you'll probably get an automated reply saying you broke the rules. Some users say they lost money not knowing what they did wrong. I'll be damned!
Is TextBookRush Legit or A Scam?
TextBookRush is not a scam. Problem is, they don't make it clear how they calculate the value of the book, unlike similar sites like BookScouter that connects buyers with sellers. So you may end up going through the lengthy selling process only for them to go back on their word. This means you're never really sure you'll get paid in the end. All in all, selling books, movies and video games on TextBookRush isn't really something to quit your day job over.
So with that said there are other ways of making money at home. You can make money doing what you already do online like watching videos, reading emails, playing games, visiting websites and much more at sites like SwagBucks.com, FusionCash.com, InboxDollars.com and taking surveys at SurveyJunkie.com.
But chances are you are looking for an opportunity to work part time or full time online making real money that actually pays the bills. If that's the case, then definitely check out My Best work At Home Recommendation.
Well, that's my two cents about TextBookRush. Do you have yours? Feel free to chime in on the comments section below. And of you still have questions about the company, you can read their FAQs page here.
Until next time
