What’s The Best Work At Home Company?

Links & ads you may click on this blog pay the bills & keep this site free for you. Thanks for supporting!

People new to the work at home scene always ask me the same question, "What's The Best Work At Home Company To Work For?" This always bugs me out because it's such a loaded question. What if I told you that the best work at home company I worked for was texting dirty messages to old men? One, your jaw might drop off your face, two you might judge me on so many levels and lastly you may not think this job is the best for you. (By the way that example was fictitious and I'm not knocking anyone that does do that.) At the end of the day how can I really be expected to pick the best company for you? I don't know you from a hole in the wall and I have no idea what your skill set is.

That's like you asking me what's the best car? Well for a 20 something year old single guy, straight out of college that is making 100k per year, I would suggest a BMW M5. Incidentally, my advice would be the same for a 30 something year old, soon to be father going through a mid-life crisis. (My wife would smack the taste out my mouth.) With that said, if a mother of 5 asked me the same car question, I might suggest a minivan (Boooooo!) or a gas guzzling SUV. My point is, it all depends on your situation and even with that I couldn't really make the decision for you.

Just Because Your Friends Are Doing It….

Many of my loyal subscribers are parents. And I know you've probably repeated the following statement to your children 100 times, especially if they're teenagers. "If your friends decided to jump off a bridge, would you go and do it?" Now in my day (Geez that sounds old.) most teenagers would say no. But nowadays with the advent of bungee jumping, it wouldn't surprise me if your kids answer yes to that question. But for the sake of this argument, let's assume that your kids have some of the common sense you taught them. Most would say no.
You as an adult have to follow your own advice and decide your own way when it comes to work at home. What may work for me may not necessarily work for you. So asking me what's the best company isn't going to solve your work at home woes.

Do you!

"Do you" is a little slang term that basically means don't worry about what others are doing, do what's best for you! Sure I'll give you my advice and have done so many times in my articles. However my advice is only my opinion. It's not the Bible or Law. You have to take it with a grain of salt. At the end of the day, the best Work At Home Company is "Company You"! "Company You" fits your personality, needs, tolerance and skill set. For some folks the best "Company You", may be the top 3 survey companies I listed in previous articles. For others who are more organized and willing to try new products it may be FusionCash. While for some with an entrepreneurial spirit, they may be happy starting their own company like I did with my typing business. It just all depends on You and what job you're willing to do at "Company You"!

How Do You Know If You Don't Like It Unless Your Try It!

How often have you told your children that when they're arguing that they don't like a vegetable or some other food you're trying to introduce into their diet? Well, stop being a hypocrite! Yeah I know you're an adult and what you say and what you do are two different things. (God I hated that line!) But seriously, how do you know if a work at home opportunity is right for you unless you've tried them all? But Eddy, you don't understand I'm the data entry and typing Queen. Yes I do, but hey you might also be the paid survey queen, or the paid focus group queen or the get paid to try offers queen. You really don't how well you can do with other work at home opportunities unless you're willing to try them especially when you have folks like us giving you personal recommendations which are free!

What do you really have to lose trying other free and legitimate work at home opportunities? Time? Nonsense, how many hours a day are you spending searching for those elusive work at home jobs? 2, 3, 7 hours a day? You mean to tell me that you can't take 1 or 2 hours per day to work on some other opportunities that are actually available? The worst that can happen is you make a few bucks while waiting to hear back from traditional work at home jobs. A few bucks is better than no bucks in my book any day. It all adds up people.

My Answer

So if you haven't figured it out by now, the best work at home company is the one or ones that work for you and your needs also known as "Company You"! It's really that simple. Just be open to trying them all. You won't have to worry about getting scammed if you follow our scam information and do your research. Next you can look to some of the recommendations we make and other websites you trust. The most important thing is your willingness to be open. No, you don't have to give up going after elusive traditional work at home jobs. You can search for that until you're blue in the face. But for God's sake don't let it be the only thing you do. Make some money doing other less traditional and legitimate work at home opportunities. It may not be a lot at first but isn't that better than not making any? Maybe it's not. You tell me…

  1. i have been trying to find a job.   I have apply to west, convergys, alpine, cloud10.   I am not getting hired.   I have work outside the home for over 10 years and i wanted to try to find something from home.   Can someone help me with this?

  2. You could probably try some writing jobs. We sometimes see sports blogging opportunities. But finding a sports related opportunity might be hard. If you’re open minded, try anything that you qualify for and see what fits.

You have experience in education so online tutoring is probably a great option for you. We have an education job section here: https://www.workathomenoscams.com/jobs/browse_by_category/Education/

Customer service is another popular option where you can earn a full time living to support your family if you’re a phone person and have a quiet work environment.

At the end of the day, folks that are able to support their family online usually run a home based business/site, write for a living, doing customer service or have technical skills.

Otherwise folks take the multiple stream income approach and do a lot of the little opportunities like the ones we suggest here:
    http://www.workathomenoscams.com/recommendations

So you have options as long as you’re open minded like you said. But you won’t really know where you fit in, unless you give a couple of things a try. Fortunately we discuss many opportunities here. So start reading and taking action on what sounds interesting. The recommendations page is a good place to start.

  3. Looking for work at home job but not sure where i would fit in. I am open-minded and willing to try new things but need something with a steady pay check to support my family. Would love the opportunity to have my own business but agian don’t really know how to go about it. My experience is i was in education and coaching for 9 years and various manual labor jobs. The coaching part is really the only one i loved to do everyday. Is there any work at home jobs that have to do with sports? Or am i just dreaming? Have any ideas for me? Thanks

  4. Good luck with Alpine. If it doesn’t work out there are other virtual call centers like it. In terms of the web cam modeling, I’m not really an expert on it. So I couldn’t really give you any pointers about it. It was just an example I used in the article to relay a point.

  5. Well I just apply with  Alpine today. Also I been think about apply with this other company here go well it is webcamer modle well I feel like doing the non-nude part. P.S. please give me some ponter about this type of work.

  6. Uh, I hope you’re not referring to me because I work for myself. Thank you very much. I’m not sure why you wouldn’t share your “experience” with alpine access in that article where it would probably make more sense: https://www.workathomenoscams.com/2011/04/05/is-alpine-access-a-scam/ I’m sure some things didn’t work out for you with the company but comments like this come off as someone that just has a grudge that is trying to use the internet to get back at a company. So I don’t know how much value it adds when someone is trying to make a decision. Just my two cents. Thanks for chiming in though.

  7. Dont let Alpine Access fool you. That review was written by someone who works there at the main office,  just to make people apply. They are a very decieving company. They tell you about the minimum requirements needed to work for them, and then they fire you after training with them for a week or so telling you that your computer system does not meet the requirements needed. The trainers there do not help you, and they are under investigation for keeping employees paychecks on hold once they terminate you. Do not waste your time with this company!

  9. One of the best work at home companies, by far, is Alpine Access.   The training is paid and intensive.   Working in a “team” environment creates healthy, happy employees.   The hours may be night-time at first, but if stats and attendance
are good, an employee can swiftly move to days.   The supervisors are pleasant and care about their “team.”  Alpine Access works to keep its employees.   I worked for the company fr almost a year.

    • You missed the whole point of the article. Alpine access is a great company, in fact we’ve reviewed it https://www.workathomenoscams.com/2011/04/05/is-alpine-access-a-scam/ and many other virtual call centers like it. But Apline Access and virtual call centers like it aren’t the best company when you have a kid screaming in the background. It isn’t the best company if you don’t have call center experience.

So as I said in the article, it’s subjective and based on a person’s given needs, skill sets and other factors. There isn’t such a thing as the best work at home company. There is only the best work at home company for YOU and your needs.

In this situation Alpine Access happens to be the best company for YOU. So thanks for sharing.

Honestly I don’t know what to tell you. We list jobs daily here:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/jobs so be sure to check their regularly and hopefully a medical billing job will come up.

In the mean time there are many other legitimate non-traditional options you can try that will bring some income in which are listed here:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/recommendations It may not be a lot but it’s definitely better than not earning anything while trying to land a traditional job. We also have an article there about quick and emergency ways to make money. So that might help too.

  13. Hello Eddy,

I am pretty much new to this whole work-at-home concept and haven’t yet jumped in, mostly because there seem to be more opportunities that are outright scams than there are legitimate opportunities. I have been out of work for quite a while and have for the time being given up hope of landing a job in my field of architecture which has been really hard hit by the recession. I have decided to change gears and right now I’m looking for something I could work pretty much full-time with the hope of a decent income and I’m not talking about $200 to $400 per month. From what I have read on this posting, I am pretty impressed with what I see. I understand the basics of affiliate marketing and it is likely that you are paid for each visitor that clicks on one of the links on the left side of this page. With this in mind, are the listings under “recommended” truly sites that you have screened and therefore endorse as being legitimate opportunities? I will continue doing my research and due diligence but knowing this could save me alot of time and get me going in the right direction.

I look forward to your reply.

    • Hi,

Please note that affiliate marketing is a business and can take months or even a year before you see your first dime. So it’s not something you take lightly.

In terms of the recommendations on the left, visit a few of the links and you’ll see for yourself I’ve written full reviews with videos demonstrating i have actually tried some of these companies. I don’t make it a habit of personally recommending companies I haven’t personally tried or made money with. And when possible I always show video proof of this. You can see more of my favorite sites here:
      http://www.workathomenoscams.com/recommendations

In any event, continue to do your research that is basically the key to avoid any issues with this industry. I’m confident the more you read the site, the better prepared you’ll be for this industry. Just understand that affiliate marketing isn’t for everyone:

I have had ebay listings before and have flopped on my own. Although I enjoyed it, I never made any money at it. I have checked out a few companies that you have listed here but can’t afford the “entry fee”. Do you have any that don’t have any fees or are any lower than the ones listed here. I am on unemployment and don’t have too much to play with. (I’m 60 and can’t find a job either.)

Just starting to do my homework on working from home.

I previously worked as a medical transcriptionist from home (six years ago) and plan to try again. Want to return to school to receive MT certification and ultimately a degree in Medical Information Technology. I also recently relocated from Alaska to Hawaii to help take care of my parents.

Job flexibility is paramount. Could relate to a lot of the replies. Read your postings and registered with a site to do surveys.

Many, many thanks for your willingness to share your knowledge of the work-at home arena. Blessings to you and your family.

Becuase you know that there is few far and between jobs that are available. To try some bull crap you doing becuase they have gained your trust. that is the oldest trick in the book as a network marketer and anybody that has been in the business long enough know that.

    • Hi Wandrissa,

I’m going to assume you’re referring to the work at home industry in general. Yes, it’s real and people are doing it all the time in various capacities. Most of the people that I know that work at home and can support their family full time are people that run their own businesses. Traditional jobs are also an option but honestly that tends to be a lot harder to land because there is so much competition. To make matters worst the availability of certain jobs is extremely limited especially when folks just limit themselves to typing or data entry.

But there are various ways to make money at home if you’re open minded and willing to explore all your options. I would encourage you to read our work at home guide to get you started in the right direction:
      http://www.workathomenoscams.com/workathomeguide

Be sure to read it from top to bottom, especially the scam section. I’m getting the impression you’re running into a lot of scams which is making you doubt that there are legitimate ways to work from home. Trust me, folks are doing it in one capacity or another:

But I think you’re missing the point of the article above. I’m not arguing there aren’t any good companies. Many of the ones you mentioned we already list on our companies page: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/companies

My assertion was that what I may consider the best may not be the best for all of you. If you hate phone work then my recommendation of a company that hires customer service reps isn’t the best work at home company.

Ultimately, the best work at home company is the one that fits the need and desires of a give work at home seeker. It’s not what I or some other article states is the best. There isn’t a one size fits all.

    Hope this makes sense.

In any event, you have a lot of medical experience. You may just need a light course in medical transcription which you can probably get at a local community college.

I know there are some employers that will hire you with no experience but its not a lot. You may want to visit the following page:

I hope this helps either way.

Medical transcription is a great career. I place it up there with being an affiliate:

  29. Hi Matt,

Welcome to our little hole in the wall. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery! The process you described doesn’t sound pleasant at all. I was cringing over here as I read your comment.

In any event, as newbie you’re going to run into a lot of scams and companies trying to sell you work at home related products that tend to exaggerate or misrepresent themselves.

So whatever you do, don’t buy anything unless you’ve become an educated work at home seeker. The fact that you’re here is a good start. So here are some places to visit and wrap your brain around:

    Scam section:
    http://www.WorkAtHomeNoScams.com/scams

If you follow the steps in the video listed on that page anytime you’re thinking about joining a company you should never get scammed. Plus we list some common scams there that should be avoided. Most scams tend to recycle themselves but just change names, website addresses, etc but they tend to repeat the same scam.

    http://www.WorkAtHomeNoScams.com/ask
Read all the questions and answers completely and this usually covers 90% of what you need to know about working at home and getting started. Its a long page but the knowledge is very valuable and helps you avoid a lot crap.

    http://www.WorkAtHomeNoScams.com/articles
This area is the bulk of my knowledge, personal experiences and recommendations. You’ll learn a lot and be entertained, hopefully.

    http://www.WorkAtHomeNoScams.com/workathomevideos
Another area with a wealth of information but in a video format.

    http://www.WorkAtHomeCareers.com/help
This will walk you through using our parent site’s traditional job search website.

And finally let me share some words of advice that you will hear reinforced on this blog whether folks want to accept it or not.

Traditional work at home jobs such as typing, data entry, customer service etc are far and few apart. Furthermore they’re almost impossible to land because of the competition. Trust me when I say you can easily spend months and up to a year trying to land one of these jobs. Most work at home seekers become very frustrated and disenchanted as they discover this. I’ve seen many get scammed and become jaded because they limited themselves to these jobs and just became desperate. So they end up buying misleading work at home products or just flat out scams.

Don’t let this happen to you. Follow our advice and go after work at home jobs that are actually available. We discuss this in one of the questions in our ask page:
    http://www.workathomenoscams.com/ask

And if you really want to be successful explore things outside your original plans that are legitimate. You’ll quickly learn that non-traditional work at home opportunities such as surveys, focus groups, affiliate etc are more readily available and can help you start making money sooner than traditional work at home jobs.

But as you read through our blog you’ll get the picture. And last but not least, read! Too often work at home seekers skim through things. That’s a recipe for missing out legit work at home opportunities or information that prevents you from being scammed. So when you find a good resource for work at home, take your time and read the articles. You’ll learn a lot.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck.

  30. I am new to all this work from home stuff, but it didn’t take me long to see how many of the companys that come up off of yahoo or google searches that present themselves as legitamite work from home opportunities really sound like their scams.

The reason I’m looking for a good work from home company is because I recently fractured my left leg on 09/04/08 and found out on 09/09/08 that I needed surgery or else I might not be able to walk right once I finished healing up. So I went ahead and took the doctors advice and had my first surgery of my life on 09/11/08. The surgery involved attaching a surgical steel plate to the smaller of the two bones in my lower left leg, wich the bottom or other side of the steel plate would also be attached to a part of my foot.

Needless to say the surgery was a lot of pain, I’m still going through a lot of swelling and pain. Also I’m now out of a job because of this injury. All I’m trying to do is find a work from home company that’s honest, and hopefully one that has some home assembly work to offer as well!

Well I hope you get this and E-Mail me back, in the mean time I wish you all the best.

God bless & have a great week!

  31. Hi DD,

Thanks for sharing but you pretty much addressed the issue I keep reinforcing on this blog. These jobs are rarely available. And in the case of big companies like the ones you mentioned these jobs tend to be offered to existing employees first. I know as I worked for a huge fortune 100 company and that was usually our policy.

And finally if there are any jobs available to general public they’re snatched up like they were free money. So my suggestion is always to apply to these jobs but its better to do so when you’re actively working for non traditional work at home opportunities like the ones we recommend in our articles section:
    http://www.workathomenoscams.com/articles

This way you’ll actually make some money rather than no money hoping to land traditional work at home jobs.

Some of these companies include: American Airlines, JetBlue, Teleperformance USA, etc. Occassionaly these companies have openings for at-home agents to take inbound calls and pay on average of $9 per hour. Only draw back is that everybody wants then so there are few openings. Just keep checking back and an opening may be found.
