Weekly Work At Home Recap 2-04-2011

Hey Guys,

I hope you had a great week. Another week and another snow storm here in NY. Oh but Mother Nature was kind enough to add freezing rain and ice to the mix. Thanks…Not!

But it's all good. Next week I'll be spared this nonsense. Wealthy Affiliate was this super affiliate contest which I and a handful of other affiliates have won this year. My prize is an all expense paid trip to Las Vegas. This will be my first "affiliate marketing" conference or meeting. It should have been my second. Last year I was a winner as well. But I was away on a man trip with my brother-in-laws so I missed the trip. So I'm really excited to rub elbows with other marketers and learn some new things.

With that in mind please excuse my absence next week. I'm going to take full advantage of some time away in a warm place. I imagine I'll be drunk with knowledge and probably some liquor as well. lol So forgive me if my responses to emails or comments are slower than usual, non-existent or all together wacky sounding. lol

Oh yeah, shout out to my wife who decided that I deserve to go on this little trip solo. Kyle & Carson are kind enough to allow you to bring a guest. But my better half felt I deserved the time away. That lady is too good to me, I know. Hopefully she'll be able to manage the snow blower duties when I'm away.

Well enough of the babbling. Ya'll hold down the fort while I'm gone. By the way, I'm not really a gambler. Risking money where the odds are totally stacked against me isn't my idea of fun. That being said besides the usual "gentlemen establishments"(…ah hem..), are there any attractions you suggest I see? This will be my 3rd time in Vegas but it's always a blur to me and sight seeing rarely happens. lol So your input is greatly appreciated.

Enjoy the leads below. I'll speak to you post Vegas and will try to bring back some sun and heat.

  1. I hope you have a great time! I can imagine you are not gamblers because your wife is “letting” you go alone. The combination of lack of interest and not needing to supervise to protect the family bank roll would lead a person to that decision. I hope you get that feeling of “brotherhood” while you’re there and get some more ideas to increase your income. You’ve got a win-win situation going so far. I think it’s going to stay that way. I love your talent, drive, mindset and work ethic. The best I can be found guilty of is ideas, perseverance, diligence and hope. But I do have a faithful mentor, you. That helps a lot! In terms of money that means so far about $250 more in my pocket than I had 6 months ago! You deserve only the best and a long, healthy life. Humanity has been made better simply because you are in it! ROCK ON!

    • Cathy,
You’re far too kind! I would like to think when I die I have definitely left the world a better place in some minor capacity. I think it’s something we should all strive for.
I’m really proud of you and how you’ve progressed with this work at home stuff. I know you’ll continue to do great things with it as you apply yourself. There was a time when you thought all this was nonsense. And look at you 6 months later. I wonder what a year or two will look like for you. Think about it.

In regards to my wife we have great communication and trust for better or worst. Obviously like any couple we’re not perfect. But we definitely trust each other and have a lot of respect for each other and our personal freedom.

I like how you put “letting” me go alone in quotes because it’s very appropriate considering our relationship. I always tell people I’m not my wife’s father and she’s not my mom. My wife is a grown ass woman and I’m a grown ass man. So we treat each other accordingly. We respect that we’ll both make the right choices whether we’re right in front of each other or hundreds of miles away. It’s probably why we work together very well. But you’re right we have both proven to each other in various situations that we can be trusted to do the right thing. I imagine it will be like that for many years to come. That’s unless I all of sudden become a crazy gambler over night in Vegas. lol

  2. Lisa,
Thanks. I like the idea of having a set amount of money to spend at the casinos. I think then it’s more fun and like playing video games or something. Because if you win, then it’s all good. But if you lose it won’t be more money than you had intended. So I hear what you’re saying. I’ve played the slots and that was pretty fun when I won a few times. I just can’t see myself spending thousands of dollars on that stuff.

I think Kyle & Carson are taking us to a show. I just don’t know which one. But I know Vegas shows are great either way. So i’m looking forward to seeing one. Thanks for the suggestions. I definitely plan to relax and enjoy myself. Between all the stresses of the new house and the snow, this is going to be one vacation I’m really going to need and treasure every moment of!

  3. I hope you have a great time. I have a mother in law who wants to go badly,we go to other casino’s but they set aside an amount to spend and when it’s gone we are done. We are the small amount players we play slot and usually penny, and nickle games. You can win on those but we just have fun playing. I have heard they have great shows so go see as many as you can. The main thing is too relax and have fun you earned it!

  4. So apparently a strong western air flow is pushing the midwest and eastern storm systems towards the West Coast. Severe weather advisories in affect for Arizona, California.. and, oh yeah.. Nevada!

Just Kidding of course, but damn it Eddy. I need more notice next time your on my side of the states!!. A couple weeks notice would have giving me time to plan to meet you for a drink ( or 12 ).

Regardless.. have fun and can’t wait to hear all about it. Perhaps you should do a nightly blog about your time in Vegas.

    • Phil,
You bastard. You had me going for a bit. LOL

My bad about the lack of notice. Meeting up for 12 drinks would have been great. lol Next time buddy. Hopefully I’ll win again next year.

Maybe I’ll do some updates on my facebook fanpage about my Vegas experience with the WA folks. I’m really looking forward to connecting with some like minded people.

      Hold it down Phil.
