SwagBucks Review: Is SwagBucks A Scam or Legit?

This blog was designed with these recommended tools. We are proudly supported by affiliate links & sponsored ads that pay the bills.
But “Eddy with a y” only personally recommends companies I trust & researched.

Is Swagbucks a scam or legit? It's time for another review from your friendly neighborhood blogger. Today I'm going to help you get your swag on!  (Ask your kids or someone that listens to hip hop if you don't get my little pun there. ) Don't worry we're staying on topic and this article will be about making money from home and not slang. In any event, if you use Google a lot for your web surfing and information gathering you may want to sit back and read this article. Because chances are you've probably never made a dime searching Google and today I'll teach how to change that instantly because of a little known site called SwagBucks.com.

So What is Swagbucks.com?

No it's not going to make you as cool as T.I. or Jay-Z. But it will help you make some easy money. If you're a loyal subscriber you know I don't say the words “easy money” at all. But this is definitely one of those rare opportunities. In a nutshell it's a search engine that pays you to use it. It's also a lot more but I'll get into that later. For now, let's just focus on the easiest way you can make money with it, which is to just use it for your web surfing habits. You can stop here if that's all you need to know and visit Swagbucks.com now to get started. The rest of you that need more information, please keep reading.

Google.com earns billions of dollars per year when good folks like you and I click on the sponsored ads listed in their search results. Now wouldn't it be nice if Google decided to hook up its users with some of the greenbacks they're earning from our efforts? Sadly they don't. But we can't really hate on them because they give us such great search results, a wonderful affiliate program and tons of other free services we all love and use. Fortunately Swagbucks.com has decided to pick up the slack and make this dream of getting paid to search a reality that benefits us all

How does Swagbucks.com work?

1. Search the web using www.SwagBucks.com and receive the search results you love from search engines like Google & Ask.com
2. Periodically you'll earn these things called “SwagBucks” as you search for whatever. (And I do mean whatever. I know how some of you roll. lol)
3. Redeem your SwagBucks for products, knick knacks, gift certificates or my personal favorite and yours, cold hard cash (via paypal).

That's pretty much how SwagBucks.com works in its simplest terms. That's probably how most of you will use it and do just fine. But there are other ways you can earn as well.

If for some reason my simple simon explanation wasn't clear enough, I've gone ahead and created a little video. I know some of you are just as visual as me. So watch it by clicking here! Be sure to come back here when you're done. Pretty cool stuff huh?

How Do I Sign Up For SwagBucks.com?

SwagBucks Complaints

I hope you didn't think I would fail to point out the pitfalls of Swagbucks.com. Tsk, tsk. Okay here's my list of things that I find annoying with Swagbucks.com

– Swagbuck Referral Cap

There is a 1000 swagbuck limit on each referral you send to swagbuck.com. So why am I peeved? We we all know I'm an affiliate marketer by trade and getting referrals is what I do. Their policy cap intrinsically hurts hard working affiliates like myself.  Let's say I refer Billy Bob. Billy Bob is an information junkie and uses swagbuck.com everyday like crazy to find pictures, videos (not the nudie ones. lol), news, etc. He does this regularly. Eventually Billy Bob wins over 2000 swagbucks within a week of using Swagbucks.com. Guess what? Swagbucks.com will only match and pay me the first 1000 swagbucks that Billy Bob made. Now ain't that about a B@#$h? In the long term I get hosed because chances are Billy Bob is going to be a swagbucks.com user for a very long time. He'll be making himself and swagbuck a lot of money for years to come. i don't know about you but it only seems fair that I get a cut of that as long as everyone else does. After all I'm the one that introduced the love birds. Now as a business man, I understand the logic behind it.Their capping policy forces me as an affiliate to find new people to refer so that I can keep earning money.  But just because I understand it doesn't mean I have to like it. lol

– Fluid Swagbuck Value

Depending on how you plan to redeem your swagbucks, such as for cash, shopping, gift card, thingies, etc. the value varies. For instance at the time of this review, I needed 700 swagbucks to get a $5 cash pay out via paypal. However I only needed 450 swagbucks for a $5 amazon gift card. Either way I was still getting $5 dollars. I'm going to assume the discrepancy is based on their affiliate relationship with a given company and the fees associated to process certain prizes. As a result of this adjustments have to be made. That being said it's still a bit annoying. However if you have points associated with your credit card or debit card, you're already accustomed to this wacky set up.  At the end of the day, I'm making money for something I would have done anyway. So you can't really moan and groan about that.

– Long Waits

I racked up my swagbucks pretty quickly with my referrals and my own personal surfing habits. My goal was to reach the minimum for the paypal payment so I can show and prove to you folks that this opportunity actually works. You know how I do. Don't just talk the talk, walk the walk. So when I did reach the required amount I requested my $5 paypal payment. Since this is basically just an electronic payment, I assumed it would arrive right away. But to my dismay there was a notice stating that it could take 10-15 days.  This was a bit of a let down and one of the reasons this review was delayed. I had to wait to actually get paid before I felt comfortable sharing this opportunity with you and to create my social proof video you saw above. I understand the waiting period for physical prizes they may be sending me. I can also tolerate a waiting period if I earned swag bucks from shopping. Because with the shopping swagbucks.com is obviously an affiliate of the companies listed and must wait to get paid by them before paying us. So that I can deal with.  But with the paypal payment I didn't see why it couldn't be instant. Maybe it's just a matter of staffing and bookkeeping. Either way that was a bit annoying.

-Inconsistent & Low Earning

The biggest thing that may turn off many of the 9-5 mentality types is that you're not earning swagbucks for every search you do on swagbucks.com. We've also discussed how your swagbucks value fluctuates depending on the prize you redeem.  So some may moan that you can't make a living with this opportunity because it's not consistent. Hey, you have a point there. But you already know what my mantra is.  If you don't, let me state it again. Any little stream of income coming in is better than NONE at all. If you can't see the logic in that, you shouldn't be on this site. Feel free to leave. We'll wait…..
For the rest of you open minded folks, obviously you should still try to find a regular job offline or online. Or you should still be working to build your business or going to school to get a skill. But in the mean time, it never hurts to bring in a little money from multiple streams of income. In this economy every little cent matters. Even if it wasn't in the dumps, if you've been online for months and haven't made a dime searching for work at home jobs, don't you owe it to yourself to get something for your efforts? You've probably spent countless hours using Google clicking on ads and didn't make a dime, you may have even lost a few because of it. Why not get on the winning side of that effort?
That's just my two cents, literally.
Well that pretty much sums up my SwagBucks.com complaints. Sure most of the stuff was minor. But I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't point it out. By the way, I may be missing some other cons. But the ones I've listed were the only ones that came to mind. Chances are someone is going to accuse of me of trying to pull a fast one over on them for failing to mention some others. ( You know who you are. lol ) So feel free to share your two cents if I missed any.

Swagbucks Tips, Hacks & Advice

Hopefully by now you're see the potential of this. If so I wanted to share a few tips that may help you make more money with swagbucks.com

1. Take advantage of the referral program.

I know I sound like a broken record & you may be tired of hearing me mention internet marketing, but yet again this another company with an affiliate program. The proof is in the pudding. 99.9% of companies have affiliate programs and that's not going to change. It's an industry that is recession proof if you know what you're doing. As I've said many times, it's not easy but that's more of a reason to succeed at it. Because most people won't and that's more money on the table for you to pick up if you're properly trained and have the right mindset. That being said, I think this program is a much easier “sell” for even newbies and aspiring affiliate marketers. Why? Well who doesn't use a search engine to find information online? Who wouldn't want to make a few bucks every month for something they're doing for free anyway? It's the same logic I argued for Clixsense which many of you have taken advantage of and made money with. Even if you just referred family and friends you could probably make some decent change with their activity and your own.

2. Use Swagbucks.com for ALL your online use.

For instance let's say you use yahoo for email.  Just log into swagbucks.com, search for yahoo email. Then click on the search result for yahoo email that way. If you do you may earn some swagbucks. Repeat these steps every time you need to visit any site. It may improve your chances of winning swag bucks.

3. Get the right tools!

Swagbucks.com provides a toolbar that you can download which makes it a lot more convenient to use their site.  Or if you're iffy about downloading a tool, you can just make swagbucks.com your homepage and every time you start your browser you'll be right there.

4. Offer to help others.

Since you can get paid to trade in old cell phones, video games and consoles, you may want to call some family members and offer to collect these old items from them. Or why not put flyers stating that you're looking for these items to be donated. You can also place ads on craigslist or
other free classifieds .
I think if you employ one or more of the suggestions above, you can make some consistent  & serious money with SwagBucks.com

I am pretty sure you have some questions not already addressed here. So feel free to visit SwagBucks.com and click on the FAQ or how it works link at the bottom of the page. You'll learn everything you want to know there or can email the company directly there.

So Does SwagBucks Actually Work & Is It Legitimate?

So obviously I think Swagbucks.com is a great opportunity and highly recommended it. So no it's not a scam based on the numerous times I've been paid by them. Hopefully my review has helped you see the possibilities and you'll consider signing up with SwagBucks.com as well. With any luck you'll earn a lot of Swagbucks and I can piggy back off your efforts for sharing this cool opportunity with you. For that matter, feel free to sign up for Blingo.com as well if you really like the idea of getting paid to surf the web. At the end of the day, they're free opportunities. What do you have to lose? You've probably been surfing the web for years never making one cent, so wouldn't the possibility of making some money for something you already do make more “cents”?

With that said If this opportunity doesn't appeal to you at all, feel free to check out traditional work at home jobs here and here.  Either way, you have options and that's what this site is about. You get to pick and choose what's best for you and not what I decide is best for me. Just take action either way because there are various ways to make money at home and you discovered a new one today.

In any event, let me know what you folks think about this opportunity below.

The one major thing folks need to keep in mind when using something like swagbucks and thinking “hey, I’m just surfing the web and getting something for nothing” is that you’re really NOT.
You’re being TRACKED.
If you’re OK with that then OK.
Personally I’m not really OK with that.
So Y’all have fun with it.

    Eddy Salomon - February 13, 2016 Reply

You’re being tracked with damn near everything you do online or offline. If you want to avoid that you need to be off the grid and live in the forest. I’d rather be paid for that intrustion. But that’s me.

Elizabeth - December 11, 2015 Reply

I know this is an old thread but in case anyone was coming around thought I’d share my experience. I have been doing Swagbucks for 3 weeks now. It’s time consuming and it takes a bit of effort to build up your points. That being said I do it in my spare time while doing homework, or watching tv. In the three weeks I have been a member I have earned 90.43, of which I have already received $50.00 in the form of a Visa eGift Card. I have not problem with them. I won’t say its free money as your time is worth something, but I will say its easy money that can come in handy when you are in need. They have a large catalog of gift cards to choose from.

Just wanted to share! have a great day

    Eddy Salomon - December 14, 2015 Reply

    Thanks for sharing Elizabeth,

Honestly I view things like this as FREE money because most of the activities you are being paid for are things you probably do unpaid anyway. Either way it’s a nice way to make some extra money. You should look into InstaGc as well. I tend to use it more than swaybacks nowadays.

charles pilcher - August 31, 2015 Reply

i used swagbucks.got 500 points bought a gift card, than it say have to wait 10 days, went to movie and came back and account cancelled.so i lose gift card as it goes to your account, not emailed. not going to use it again.

    Eddy Salomon - September 1, 2015 Reply

Sorry to hear that Charles. I’ve been with them for years and never had my account closed or had an issue redeeming any gift card. I wonder if you violated some rule intentionally or unintentionally which is usually when people’s accounts get cancelled on sites like this. So it’s hard to know unless we heard swagbucks side of the story because there are always two sides I’ve learned.

    Larry Carter - September 11, 2015 Reply

DO NOT USE SWAGBUCKS. IT’S A SCAM COMPANY. What they do is they get advertisers to pay them and promise the advertisers they will get seen and results. Then, they con you into thinking you will get gift cards if you watch those ads they are the middlemen for. They wait until you claim one or two gift cards, then they wait until you are near or ready to claim a $25 or $50 gift card….and then they deactivate your account, and send you an insulting and defamatory email accusing you of doing things that you have not done and have no means to do.

The reason they do this is because they think they can get away with it and that most users will just move on after being scammed, so the scam continues. If you have not had this happen to you yet, then either you are on their list and they haven’t got around to you yet…or you haven’t earned enough for them to deactivate you yet for no valid reason other than to scam you.

It doesn’t seem like a lot to rip you off for $25 like they did to me deactivating my account after a year with them (and yes, I was verified). But when they do this to a few hundred thousand of their users, guess what? That’s $250,000 they just stole from each of you that goes into their pocket, while the advertisers think that they paid you when they stole from you instead.

So let that sink in a moment when you think the only reason swagbucks would deactivate someone is if they violated their TOS. There are millions of members who DO NOT violate their TOS at all – like me – I am 86 years old and I don’t even know HOW to do the things I have been accused of by some unknown person who is hiding behind the name of “Allison”. I read their blog thoroughly before signing up, but they make up reasons to deactivate you and insult you as they go hoping you will buy what they send so that they do not have to pay you.

Swagbucks needs a class action lawsuit against them. Do not sign up with this horrible, cheating, deceitful company. You will regret it.

    Your friend,

    Eddy Salomon - September 12, 2015 Reply

I’m sorry to hear you had problems with Swaybacks. But I’ve never experienced this and have been with them for years. In fact I recently redeemed some paypal money from them with no issue at all. So what you experienced isn’t the norm. And I know when you’re on the crappy end of the stick people want to go on the web voice their frustration by making generalizations and claims. But if they were truly in the business of doing what happened to you regularly they wouldn’t have survived for as many years as they have and continue to thrive.

That said when stuff like this happens it’s folks violating TOS willingly or un willingly. And in some cases you do have companies that engage in this shady behavior where they make their money and aren’t coughing up what they promise to their users. But those companies don’t last very long. And that’s not the case here. That said I don’t know the other side of the story and I know there are usually two. So I can’t say for sure what happened that led to your account being deactivated. Either way It sucks and it’s unfortunate. But it hasn’t been my experience and I’ve been with them for years and racked up thousands of swag bucks and have been able to cash them many times with no problems. So I can only speak of my years of experience with them. Thanks for sharing though. Don’t let this stop you from trying other companies.

I just looked at Ayuage and can’t get past the sign up section. Do you know if we have to pay to earn money there?
I am somewhat disappointed with SB because there are fewer and fewer things to do to earn. They are also taking longer.

ARTHUR SCHULTZ - February 27, 2015 Reply

Hey Eddy…..just cashed out for the 5 buck Amazon card a few days ago on SB (450 SB)……no problem at all..arrived in a couple of days (email) and they did not ask for any verification. Have not really got into the meat of the site yet but points seem to come pretty easy compared to some others…not sure if I went thru your referral but just wanted to throw in my 2 cents…and yes those 2 cents do add up…have a good weekend and thanks for the education. Not making a million but I pay my internet bill watching TV and jumping around during commercials…

    Eddy Salomon - March 1, 2015 Reply

You’re welcome Arthur! Glad to see you taking action on my recommendations and that they’re working for you!

    Pamela - March 2, 2015 Reply

Today they raised the cost of the $5 Amazon card to 500 SB and took away the top two games after already removing the tournaments and adding games you have to pay to play on 3rd party sites. I’m not saying they are a scam as I have earned a decent amount of money from them and they always pay….and now are sending Amazon cards within a day or two as opposed to the several weeks it was taking. What I am saying is it is slowly but steadily becoming more difficult to earn there and the top reward that drew people there is no longer the bargain it once was. I’m still working there but it’s not my top priority anymore. I can earn way more on Ayuwage and now I will make SURE I get both pc and mobile points on Bing to make up for what I just lost on SB. I will be making sure I earn everything I can on Ayuwage first and SB second when it used to be the other way around.

Oh, and I just now discovered that they have also taken away the ability to request more than two items per day. They had changed that to unlimited requests per day except for the discounted $5 Amazon card.

    Eddy Salomon - March 2, 2015 Reply

    Hey Pam,

Thanks for sharing the changes. I can’t say I’m surprised. It’s pretty much why I’ve pulled back from spending much time there or promoting them. I don’t think they’re a scam either but I haven’t been a huge fan of many of their changes over the last couple of years. The fact they’ve made it so difficult to earn just from searching stinks since that’s pretty much how they started. Granted they do provide so many more ways to make money with them though.

I personally like InstaGc.com more nowadays. That said none of these companies help me earn the full time income that my Top Free Recommendation does. But either way, SB and Instagc are legit ways to make some extra bucks.

    Thanks for sharing!

I have found that putting lines from songs in the search bar often results in search wins. Start with the first line and if that does not pay off, write in the second, third etc.

    Eddy Salomon - November 4, 2014 Reply

That’s a cool trick! Thanks for sharing! I wonder if that works with my new favorite search site Qmee!

    screwed - January 2, 2015 Reply

Swagbucks is a scam. They decide that you need to verify yourself after you earn enough swagbucks to order an actual reward. I ordered my postcard months ago to “verify” myself and still haven’t seen it. They claim you can verify by phone but once you type in your phone number it claims it is not recognized. They even wanted me to send in a scan of my drivers license do you believe that shht. They act like swagbuck is laid back place to search, survey, play games, and shop to earn but once they got to give you what your earned they put up a road block in front of you and your reward like you are somehow not worthy of it not so fast, like your a crook or a scammer trying to pull one over on them. I took mean for effin ever to earn those 500 swagbucks now I can’t even use them.

    Eddy Salomon - January 2, 2015 Reply

I get you’re mad and so as usual everyone wants to call a company a scam when they are. That said, I agree the verification hoops they make you go through is very annoying. It wasn’t always like that but it was probably a result of some idiots taking advantage of the system and screwing them over. So now they have these annoying safeguards in place.

I have been able to verify with no issue. That said make sure you’re entering a real number like your home number or cell phone number. I think if you’re using something like google voice or some other throwaway service it won’t work. I don’t think I had do a scan of my license so that seems weird. I think I just had to do the phone verification. That said I would try using a different number and see if that works. I know for a fact they aren’t a scam and just cashed out last month as you can see from this screenshot.

So don’t give up. I know this part of the process is a pain. But once you are verified, there shouldn’t be all this hoop jumping going in.

Karin Aubrey - September 3, 2014 Reply

Hey there! I read thru this article and i am hoping maybe you will do an update? Swagbucks has changed significantly since this article was written and i think you should revise this. SB’s has become a much better place to earn thru everything from searching to referrals. We now enjoy a 10% lifetime referral pay out for referrals on ALL earnings, not just search earnings. There are also many many more opportunities from surveys to shopping and all things in between. Videos, mobile apps, offers like the ones found on Peanut Labs and Trial Pay to name just a few. In August i earned 275.00 in Payapl orders, July 250.00…the site has taken on a life of its own. In any case… please do an update? i think you will be doing yourself a favor

    Eddy Salomon - September 3, 2014 Reply

Yes they’ve made some great additions and I have actually written updates in the past. But you’ve pretty much covered the changes here. lol

    Desire - January 20, 2015 Reply

I had a question about the featured offers. Like today there was one for making a Wen hair product purchase. Purchase the package for $39, you get 2,995 SB, but when I looked closer Wen will charge your account every month after that for another package, but SB says if you cancel you may not receive your SB. If I make the purchase and do not cancel the first order, but cancel the rest, will I still get my SB?

    Eddy Salomon - January 20, 2015 Reply

I have no idea. You should email Swagbucks about this.

Kendall St. Martin-Author - August 21, 2014 Reply

I know this is relatively old post but I found it b/c it’s actually the first post that appears when I typed in “Is Swagbucks A Scam” into the Swagbucks search engine.

My personal experiences with Swagbucks has frustrating and awful. My sister, on the other hand, has nothing but glowing things to say about them. So I DO think that the user experience varies. I wouldn’t be so quick to “pass the buck” onto the users when things go wrong. I absolutely understand that user error may account for SOME things such as not getting credited for completed offers or inadvertently violating the TOS and getting deactivated, but just a cursory search of the internet reveals an alarming number of people who all have the same story: They joined the site, they wracked up points, they went to redeem them and were then deactivated. The same thing, happening the same way, to a multitude of people, ALL of whom have pretty much the same accounting of events and the people aren’t connected to one another in any way or subtly pushing a competitor site? I’m sorry but even the look on the sunny side of the street optimist in me isn’t naive enough to find that a coincidence. (In fact, if you go to Swagbuck’s Facebook page right now they have a LTO on subscribing to an HGTV channel via your Youtube account that is SUPPOSED to pay out 50 Swagbucks. About half the people under the post are saying they did the offer and never received credit. I did the offer and did not receive credit, however to be fair my sister did the same offer and DID receive credit. Just by going through the comments it appears it’s crediting about half of the people who complete the offer. Could some of them have done something wrong and that’s why they aren’t being credited? Sure. Some, but not all. That’s just not very likely that with THAT many people with the SAME story, EVERYONE’S issue is a user error)

I don’t think that Swagbucks is an out and out scam. They DO pay out and people have had positive experiences with them. I DO however think it’s a site that isn’t transparent about their practices and policies and has developed an unsettling practice of deactivating accounts to avoid paying out rewards.

Based on my own experiences and research, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I use it but I keep my expectations at basement level and I won’t refer anyone to it. Having been burned myself and seeing how many other users have similar tales of woe, I simply don’t Swagbucks. I don’t think it’s a scam per se, I just don’t think it’s a trustworthy and honest company.

    Eddy Salomon - August 25, 2014 Reply

    Hey Kendall,

Thanks for sharing your experience and opinion. I agree with you user experience will vary with Swagbucks although I think lately more people have experienced some of the poor side of SB. Fortunately there are so many other legitimate ways to earn money online (most of which we cover here), you can always give the other companies a shot. Fortunately there not the only fish in the sea.

I can only personal recommend it based on my experience. Every year I’m able to cash out my Swagbucks with no issues. My account has never been suspended so I’m just basing my feedback on that. That said there are definitely folks that have probably experienced what you said. It would be nice if these online companies were transparent and explained why they may boot certain people. But I think the argument would be by revealing that they may make it easier for other people to take advantage of ways they may track offenders that are purposely doing things wrong. And unfortunately that may lead to some collateral damage of innocent people. But when you join these sites you’re agreeing to the terms of conditions that most of us ignore. And those terms are always designed to protect the company. So it’s a calculated risk you’re taking with any online company you use including social networks like Facebook.

It’s a gift and curse of these sites. Either way, thanks for chiming in and sharing your two cents! It’s greatly appreciated!

I make 2 dollars a day on Swagbucks by mostly watching videos, you can earn $1.50 each day just watching videos, (I open a tab and minimize the page [ctrl -] to my fitting and do whatever I want while running the videos). You can also install the SBTV app and get 50cents a day by letting the vidoes autorun (US only). Other than that you could do much more thing but those will require concentration. Like tasks and Surveys.

I have been using Swagbucks for almost 2 years and I will say you won’t get rich. I already pay for my internet so if I can make a few dollars why not . I have earned just over $800 dollars in amazon.ca gift cards and have purchased quite a bit of stuff from amazon as a result of Swagbucks . Like I say you won’t get rich but it does allow me to indulge on some pretty great items for myself and family and not feel guilty spending money that could go elsewhere. Thank you for your review 🙂

Rhyanna - April 11, 2013 Reply

Hi thanks for the review. I do have to say that there is indeed a downside. Recently, as of late last month, I had cashed out for a $25 paypal card and had 732 swb in account, only to discover that my account had been deactivated. So not only do I lose the $25 paypal I also lose the 732 swb, and the kicker is the email I had used for paypal on swagbucks, they won’t release it. I have had that email since 1995. They said searching irregularities, yet when I questioned further, didn’t go anywhere. Therefore, I Say READ the Terms and Policy Carefully. Yes its changed since I joined, which was this mid-past dec 2012.. also do more research on it, for there many offers that did not credit and you get screwed. I have to say I am liking irazoo.com which is a bit more private and not open to general public just ask them on their facebook page for more info. They are almost the same as swagbucks, just like zoombucks…what I like about zoombucks, is if I get dq out of a survey I do get some points.

Beril Tan - April 9, 2013 Reply

Swagbucks may be was good but not anymore. Surveys hardly ever credits and they just wash their hands of and asking us, users to deal with survey companies. Well you are the one brought those surveys and you should be dealing wit this. Because we don’t have any pressure to ask survey companies to correct this BS and credit us they don’t care. All they say is “we dont have records that you have completed the survey” I’m sending screen shot which they ask us to provide so that they will convince that we completed the survey. Even with the proofs(screen shots) they don’t credit. And this has been happening quite alot lately. Needless to say many of us left Swagbucks and now doing surveys for another site “clixsense” Until they screw up I will do survey for them then I guess it will be over or some other decent survey companies will show up(hopefully). What i can say from my experience is that Swagbucks is scam! So be aware!

    Marc - April 30, 2013 Reply

I get credited every time I complete a survey, which is frequently. Strange.

Because of my disability I use a few different software programs to help me use my laptop and navigate the internet. As soon as I earned points and requested the giftcard I wanted, Swagbucks accused me of cheating because of my software. I told them what it was and why I needed to use it. They didn’t reply to my email. The closed my account and refused to send the giftcard I earned.

Swagbucks is a SCAM. Don’t waste your time with them. As soon as you earn a decent prize, they’ll kick you off.

And more importantly, they discriminate against people with disabilities.

    Eddy Salomon - January 2, 2013 Reply

Kissa, I’m sorry to hear about this issue. That being said Swagbucks isn’t a scam and thousands of us use it regularly and have been paid numerous times. However they have definitely failed you in this situation. Ideally it would have been great if you had contacted them before starting to see if the software might be against their terms and conditions. But I’m sure it’s not something you would have even thought of. But they probably have something in their terms in conditions you didn’t read. Most of us don’t read those documents and then things like this happen and folks start calling a company a scam out of anger and frustration.

At the end of the day I understand your feelings. I wish companies would have more of an open dialogue in situations like this. But they make the rules and when you sign up and agree to the terms and conditions, you’re pretty much at their whim for better or worst.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Fortunately it’s not really the norm with this company but I know that doesn’t make you feel any better.

    catsinjax - May 16, 2013 Reply

Eddy is right, Swagbucks is NOT a scam. I am disabled and have been a member for years now. I have earned tons of gift cards of my choice and have redeemed them with no problems. I did a great deal of last years Christmas shopping off of gift cards I had earned on Swagbucks. I also earned more off that, since I used their Shop & Earn while I was buying those presents with those gift cards, making my money earn me more money. If you have an issue, the Swagbucks help center or support is always very helpful. I am not saying you will always get what you want, but they usually are more than accommodating. I have had issues with partner offers before and soon as I contacted support, it usually was resolved within a day or so. Personally, I highly recommend Swagbucks for making a little money on the side. I hope you will give them another chance and as Eddy said, check to make sure your software is not against their rules first.

Eddy, people are very entitled to be angry and frustrated when companies fail miserably to do a simple job with customer service! They take people, especially naive people for granted!!! I am a member and I must say the company is completely pretty much full of scam activities! Surveys are terrible. They dont give the points as promised and what they really want you to do is to BUY from other companies. Yes , I made some little money here and thee….but for all the work and hours, it is not even a fair deal. So we are entitle to complain. These companies make plenty of money and they should reward us better and treat us with dignity and respect, especially when we complain because they fail to do a simple job! ! Simple as that!
And yes many companies online, surveys and others are big time scams! Even when they pay little money…especially when you have to wait 2 or 3 weeks to get that money! Geez!

    Eddy Salomon - June 8, 2014 Reply

I don’t know where you got the impression that I don’t think people are entitled to voice their frustration. That’s not the case at all which is why I have a blog and encourage comments like yours.

But I’ve been in this business long enough to know that people throw around the word scam too loosely for situations folks make not like.

Like every company Swagbucks definitely has room for improvement. But they don’t owe us anything. It’s their company and they make up the rules. If we don’t like it we just shouldn’t participate in their company and voice our displeasure on sites like this. Maybe it will lead to change. Maybe not. Fortunately there are many other legitimate companies and ways to make money online that you’re not limited to Swagbucks.

Ultimately just because we don’t like some of the policies of a company or don’t think it’s worth the effort doesn’t make it a scam. I’ve even written an article about this here: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2012/03/26/top-3-reasons-its-not-a-work-at-home-scam/

It just means the company isn’t as good as we would prefer and that’s perfectly a fair assessment and feeling to express. Ultimately we’re all entitled to our opinions. So it’s always good to hear from you guys. Thanks.

I use swagbucks and have used it for a good many years. My favorite is the $5 amazon gift cards. I have gotten stuff off there for free of charge and still have money left over on the gift card! So I’m proof that it’s legit! I constantly have amazon orders coming in the mail and never spent a single dime! Sometimes my orders are just one or 2 things, but sometimes there’s a whole long list! But what really makes sense is to buy the items that come in a bulk package for cheap and sell the extra ones out of the package after mine is removed! Who really needs 3 different stylus pens?! So I actually sold them on a page called yardsellr.com, shipped them out, provided yardsellr with a tracking code, and my payment was received in about a week. They started charging a fee for payal payments and paper checks, but direct deposit into a bank account was free and I took that option. I have made loads of money of that site and swagbucks! All was made possible by the swagbucks site! Love it!

You’re really running with SB FerretMom. It’s a great way to make money. But you’re taking it a step further by leveraging the rewards in a different way. A very unique way to maximize SB. Thanks for chiming in and sharing.

    Hi Ebony,
I don’t know what you mean getting paid for surfing?
If you mean getting paid for when you visit their site to search for stuff or do it via the toolbar, then yes. It’s a cool and easy way of earning some bucks with them.

    Ebony Ward - October 13, 2012 Reply

ahh ok. big difference. there are some companies where they pay you to surf the internet but downloading a software and clicking ads, but they turned out to be scams. i tried one.

    Eddy Salomon - October 13, 2012 Reply

Yeah there use to be companies like that: alladvantage and some others. There are companies that pay you for clicking on ads/surfing sites. Clixsense is still one of my favorites because they offer that option and other ways to earn on their site: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2012/05/07/work-at-home-update-clixsense-tasks/

Just found your site- and for anyone else who comes across it and [like myself] likes to see recent posts, I decided to comment . I love swagbucks. I have been using it for a year . I started using it last year just a month and 1/2 before christmas. I was out of work and had to figure out some way to buy christmas , since all of my fiance’s money would be for bills. In that little amount of time I earned almost $200 in amazon money using swagbucks . [i only had one active referral]May not seem like alot, but Amazon can have some great deals, and I had a free trial of Amazon Prime [which i need to find again] so got free 2 day shipping on everything. I recommend Swagbucks to anyone!! with anything, the more effort you put into it, the more rewarding it will be . 🙂

    Eddy Salomon - October 6, 2012 Reply

A lot of us use Swagbucks for holiday shopping or for new gadgets like the Iphone which is how I tend to use it. lol It’s definitely a legit site but has room for improvement as we’ve recently discussed here:

But it’s a pretty cool way to earn some extra money for things you already do.

    mstam77 - March 15, 2013 Reply

Well, Eddy.. Honestly, I don’t even thing Swagbucks should be put under the title of “work from home” at all. I do not consider it a job, because a job will pay at least $7.25 in my area, I wouldn’t settle for less working from home. I consider Swagbucks as a way to make some extra money to buy things your paycheck wont have to/can’t afford to. It definitely isn’t a real source of income though. . I am a member of a lot of different “rewards” or cash websites , and there are only 3 i do regularly, and this is one of them.

sheilagotswag - September 29, 2012 Reply

I have wondered this many times too! Just yesterday I completed two offers, that promised swagbucks. I would have not wasted my time otherwise! When I messaged customer service, I got the run around! They still have not credited my account. I get the same thing with surveys that I’ve completed, which takes LOTS of time! For the most part, it’s been fine, but every once in a while I wonder if it’s worth it!

    Eddy Salomon - October 5, 2012 Reply

It’s definitely not a scam and works but it certainly needs improvements which we recently talked about here: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2012/09/17/how-i-would-improve-swagbucks-com/

    Nicole - February 5, 2013 Reply

Every time I message Swagbucks I get the runaround. They always come up with weird reasons why they are not crediting me. They say that according their records I shouldn’t be getting them. They are always wrong. I think they are looking at someone else’s records.

    mstam77 - March 15, 2013 Reply

First, just so ya know [6 mths later lol] – it can take 48-72 hrs for them to get back to you, they have to look into it too, and its an outside company that isn’t crediting you- not them [all of their surveys and other thingscredit instantly, if you make it through them] Also, always make sure before you do any offer that you read the fine print. It will generally tell you the time frame to expect credit.. If you don’t have it in that amt of time, and confirmed any email you may have had to, then you need to contact who had the offer… trial play, pnut, etc… they always have a link at the top to click on for help if missing points when you are on their tab. And take screen shots if you can anytime you complete an offer , just in case…especially if its for a good amount of points. Swagbucks customer service is actually really good, you just have to make sure you completely read an offer before doing it

jack - August 30, 2012 Reply

do they send you unwanted mail

    Eddy Salomon - August 30, 2012 Reply

Nope, otherwise we wouldn’t personally recommend them. As long as you just focus on things like the search and watching videos you should be fine. But if you’re signing up for offers which SB does pay you for then the owners of the offers will definitely send you marketing messages not SB.

Ive been using Swagbucks for 3 years and I love it. The prizes are totally legit. Dont waste bucks on small prizes. Try to save up for the big ones. It takes patience sometimes to earn large sums but in the end it is worth it. Trusted Surveys are the best way to earn.

Candy Henry - June 24, 2012 Reply

I am getting ripped off by them, completed a purchase offer for 675 swagbucks by BigFish, it said purchase a game for $2.99 and get the 675 swagbucks, new users only. Well I went there directly from swagbucks.com, registered and purchased from there, I purchased a $2.99 game, it said it updates instantly, its been over an hour already, contacted customer service from both ends, still nothing, talking about days. You have to keep track of every offer you do, because this is constant, this will be the 5th time I have done an offer and not received swagbucks for the offer. Everything from surveys, etc., but this is the largest one that ripped me off. Needless to say I will never purchase from Big Fish or any other offer the company post!

I love swagbucks. It sounds like a scam, but it isn’t. It is 100% legit. I am actually planning to pay for christmas through all the amazon gift cards I earn. A good tip is to not “hold on” to your swagbucks but cash out as soon as possible, this is just in case there is a misunderstanding and you get deactivated. Also read the rules carefully. I read them every few months just to make sure I’m remembering things. Also joining their FB page is a great way to learn and get tips.

    Eddy Salomon - May 13, 2012 Reply

I’m doing the same thing. But I don’t cash out right away. I save it until around the holidays. I’ve never had any issues cashing out large sums. But it’s probably not a bad idea to cash out on occasion.

Don - May 9, 2012 Reply

I racked up 2000+ points and trying to go through their activation process to redeem my points, waited, followed their rules, waited some more and all of a sudden today, someone emailed me saying my account has been deactivated because I am sharing multiple accounts, which I AM NOT. In fact, I use the same account on both my iPad and computer. They don’t really respond or contact me or provide any more info, so I feel cheated of my time and efforts. It’s feeling like a scam. Wonder if this happened to anyone else.

    Savvy_southern_belle - May 11, 2012 Reply

Don, a lot of people are having this problem recently. If someone else uses the same computers (IP address) for swagbucks this does “confuse” their system and is how many get deactivated. Contact Swagbucks. A lot of people after explaining the situation get reinstated. Good Luck

Nicole - April 30, 2012 Reply

Be forwarned…. I am sure swagbucks is legit IF you don’t earn too much too quickly. I was 100% honest using swagbucks, I spent 2 weeks day and night on swagbucks trying to earn enough points to get a gift card to get my children new clothes. I watched swagbucks tv, signed up for things, did surveys ect… now a lot of things you will waste your time doing and never get awards your swag bucks. For surverys I only got awarded about 1 out of 10 times and the surveys go on forever. Than after I finally earned enough points for my gift card and tried to claim the gift card they than accused me of auto running swagbucks just to gain points when I was actually sitting in front of the computer the entire time. They canceled my gift card, de-activated my account and basically stole 2 weeks of my life and I have no reward. Honestly swagbucks is not worth the time it takes just to earn a few bucks a month. And if you try to earn more than a few bucks a month they will find a reason to deactivate your account and take all your points away, All the time spent to earn even 5 or 10 $ on swagbucks you could have gotten a small job and earned so much more $ in the same ammount of time. I feel used and cheated by swagbucks and give them a big thumbs down and they are such a waste of time. I only with I had listened to the negative reviews I read before I started,

    Eddy Salomon - April 30, 2012 Reply

I understand you’re frustrated because of what happened to you. Chances are you did violate some rule and probably wasn’t aware of it. I’ve earned very high amounts with SB and have redeemed many times with no problems. And I’ve earned them probably faster than most. So that’s not a reason why an account would be flagged and killed. At the end of the day it sucks what happened to you. But it’s definitely not the norm.

Either way thanks for sharing your experience with us. Treat this experience like dating. There are plenty of other fish in the sea that you can try that are like swagbucks and better. See my recommendations page for some of these opportunities: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/recommendations

I’ve read Swagbucks’ FAQ and learned that its sweepstakes is for US and Canada residents only (and I assume the surveys too, since I’ve been into at-home internet job search since 2010. lol). But is Swagbucks available to countries like India, Philippines, etc.? I know it’s a dumb question, but I’m for legit companies no matter what, and Swagbucks looks like one of the few.

Jeniejackson73 - April 11, 2012 Reply

It’s cool because you get prizes for doing what you usually would be doing for example I got a strand of fresh water pearls and some other cool stickers for my kids. I really do not see how you can make real money from it but if you like free stuff they do come threw.

    Eddy Salomon - April 12, 2012 Reply

It’s a great way to make BOTH money (NOT A LOT) or earn prizes. I and many people have cashed out for paypal cash payments many times. You may not be able to support your family with it but you can make “real” money with it that can be used in “Real” stores. It just depends on how well you work all the ways to make money at SB and take full advantage of referrals.

Eddy Salomon - April 8, 2012 Reply

A_rob987 - March 23, 2012 Reply

Swagbucks is legit, you can earn prizes. But if you work too hard for them (earn too many gifts), they’ll definately deactivate your account for obscure reasons. A good site only if you don’t plan to gain more than a few bucks per month.

    Eddy Salomon - March 23, 2012 Reply

That’s ridiculous. I’ve earned hundreds of dollars from them and have thousands of referrals and my account hasn’t been deactivated. Usually when companies kill your account it’s because you violated some rules knowingly or unknowingly. It’s not because you made too much money. lol

    kerry - January 26, 2013 Reply

I have read all of these comments with interest. Eddy, is it possible you are not treated the same as the other folks that have had their accounts mysteriously deactivated because they purportedly violated a rule or were deemed in violation because you are a blogger that clearly sends business their way? Perhaps it is not “ridiculous” at all?

    Eddy Salomon - January 30, 2013 Reply

Kerry, I can see how you would come to that conclusion. But I’m not one of their big players so they could care less about my blog. So I don’t think that is the case. But honestly people violate rules all the time and don’t even realize it.
Unfortunately many companies aren’t transparent and allow folks to rectify any mistakes they made. Either way it sucks. Trust me I’ve been on the other side. But you don’t see me running around calling a company a scam because of it. 😉

I am hoping to find one that pays sooner than swagbucks, if not, I will have to stick with them.

Eddy Salomon - February 8, 2012 Reply

I hear ya Gregg. For certain prizes the math doesn’t add up. So you basically have to pick and choose the best activities and prizes for your needs which you’ve obviously been doing. So kudos to you! Unfortunately with referrals there is always going to be a portion of them that are dead beats. I literally have thousands in many of the programs I promote and it amazes me how many of them aren’t active. It’s like why did you sign up then? lol Oh well. Fortunately with most legitimate programs you don’t need the referrals to earn. Your own activities are enough. Thanks for chiming in!

Gregg - February 8, 2012 Reply

I looked at how much SB they give on trading in stuff like cell phones. 10 SB! You’re better off flogging your old gear on Craigslist. In about a month on Swagbucks, I’ve picked up $25 in $5 Amazon cards and used them to cover most of the cost of a pair of 1800mah Epic 4G batteries and a super tiny Verbatim 4 gig USB flash drive for my car stereo. Got up to 455 SB a couple of days ago and immediately popped for another $5 Amazon “card”. Don’t bother with the higher $ Amazon cards. The SB to $ ratio is far worse on them. I only have two referrals, one has only picked up 17 SB and the other has ZERO. Dunno why she’s not using it because she was very interested in using Swagbucks to get free books for her Kindle. If those two would get with it I’d have another $20 on my amazon account. Think of every SB referral as $11.11 ! 😉 With the $5 cards, each SB = 1.11111(infinity)  cents.

About 3 months ago I read this article.  I joined Swag Bucks.  I’m SO THRILLED with them that I can’t even begin to tell you.

I have earned about $150.00 from them in that time.  They have paid me within a few days each and every time.

I HIGHLY recommend that you join if you haven’t.  They are SUPER and with a little work… including the surveys… and searching like you normally do… you can make big bucks here.

Thank You Eddy for turning me on to this program!!!!

You are now my GO TO GUY before joining new programs out there.

Hey NunnieGirl, Thanks for chiming in and sharing your experience! I agree SB is great. I mean how can you complain for getting paid for what you already do online? lol

I’m glad you’ve found success with this. I’m confident as you continue to read my site and the other recommendations, you’ll find additional ways to make money. Thanks again.

Eddy Salomon - January 31, 2012 Reply

Too much work? You’re getting paid for searching and doing other things you usually do for free anyway. The only stuff that seems like a lot more work are there surveys. But everything else is pretty quick and easy.

As for this other company, they’re too new to claim they are legit or a scam yet. I’d have to see some proof of consistent payments before jumping to that conclusion. Just because I’m telling you that I’m going to rob you before I do it doesn’t mean it’s not a crime. Obviously this is an extreme example. lol But you get the point.

Robert - January 31, 2012 Reply

I used swag bucks, but it’s just too much work. I’ve been searching around and looks like there is this new website that recently launched that gives you money for surfing. jointopline.com, they seem legit and explain everything up front

Anyone else using this?

Elaine - January 19, 2012 Reply

I referred to my roommate and the customer service called me a cheater and deactivated my account the day I supposed to receive my payment. They waited until you did all your work. And the customer service is very rude. Just stay away from this scam!

    Eddy Salomon - January 19, 2012 Reply

Elaine, Sorry to hear your account was de-activated. But in my experience it rarely happens without just cause. A lot of times we violate rules in the terms of conditions that most of us don’t read.

Unfortunately not all companies will give a warning or a heads up that you’re doing something wrong. I think they find it easier just to cancel people’s account which isn’t fair either.

So I feel your pain and anger. It’s happened to me with other companies. But that doesn’t make a company a scam. There are literally thousands of us who have been paid regularly by Swagbucks with no issues. So although I understand your annoyance with this company, it doesn’t help your cause to mislabel the company because you want to lash out at them.

When a company does something like this to you, you should do what I do, move on to their competition. iRazoo is just that: http://www.irazoo.com/ReferedNewUser.aspx?RefBy=workathomenoscams and they’re pretty good. I hope this helps.

That is very important to me and I’m going to be following you 🙂 I signed up with Swagbucks.com a few weeks ago and within two weeks I’ve earned two $5 GCs to Amazon.com. It takes a lot of time but if you’re sitting at home, you might as well get something for it 🙂 Thanks!

Eddy Salomon - November 21, 2011 Reply

Yeah it sucks we don’t get matches on all the activities. But trust me you can make some decent money with people searching. I’ve made several thousands dollars with Swagbucks already and most of it was because of my massive amount of referrals. The fact of the matter is not everyone you refer will be active. That just goes with the territory. That’s why you try to get as many as you can to compensate for this because some people will be more active than others.

But even without a lot of your own referrals you can do well with your own activities. I love how you have your kids “working” for you with this opportunity! Everyone wins! lol
Thanks for sharing.

Springsgardner - November 20, 2011 Reply

I have to say I don’t like their referral policy that states, “Matching Swag Bucks are only rewarded on Swag Bucks won through online search.” I got my first two referrals within a day of joining, but they didn’t bring as much as a hoped because it’s hit or miss on the search.

Other than that, it’s good. My kids like the games on that page, so I’ve let them play with me. They also like the “zoo” channel on swagTV. We’ve watched a few together today.

Eddy Salomon - November 15, 2011 Reply

Just move on to another company then. There are plenty of fish in the sea and that’s the great thing about this industry. I would suggest fusion cash: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2007/08/27/is-fusion-cash-fusioncashcom-a-scam/

Eddy Salomon - November 9, 2011 Reply

Glad to hear it! It’s really an easy way to earn money and fun!
I don’t understand your question. As long as you clicked on the link in my site to join SB then yes I got the credit. So if that’s your concern, thanks.

Kamote - November 9, 2011 Reply

Hi Eddy,

This is video is great love watching it.
I just joined and earned already.
BTW, how do i know that you referred me?

Great Job Leah! You go girl! It’s very easy money.
As long as you used a link in one of my articles to join, I got credit. And thank you for having the desire to give me credit for introducing you to SB. Sometimes people seem to think it’s bad when you refer people to something legitimate that makes them money as well. Go figure.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Swag on!

Leah - October 30, 2011 Reply

Hello, I would like to thank you for sharing your experiences and the information with us. It’s been extremely helpful. I just joined a few minutes ago and within literally five minutes, I earned 45 swag bucks. I would like to say that you referred me. How do I do that?

Eddy Salomon - October 21, 2011 Reply

Great job Dawn! I love the fact you’ve been taking action and have already made some money with swagbucks. You’ve done great without referrals and that’s why I like this program so much because you can do it without referrals and be successful. I use swagbucks to buy myself and family stuff too. I usually convert it for amazon gift cards or apple gift cards. In fact I just bought myself a new apple iphone 4s courtesy of swagbucks. So it’s a great way to make some easy money.

Keep taking action on some of my other recommendations and the money will definitely add up! But you’re doing great! Thanks for sharing. You made my day!

I’m sure you’ll find some great deals on a kindle very soon, they tend to have more deals for that than an ipad. Good luck!

Dawn - October 21, 2011 Reply

Love your site and even though I don’t comment on here I read and am finally getting into more of the programs that you recommend (time was an issue before). I have been a member of Swagbucks for awhile and although I do not have any referrals I have earned over $100 in Amazon (I cash out for the $5 gift cards). It was great getting my nephew’s first bday gift for free and a few movies and books for my kids. Thanks for all the time you put into your site. I’m looking forward to earning a few dollars here and there to go toward fun things for my kids. (ok me too when I find a great deal on Amazon..saving for a Kindle LOL)

Eddy Salomon - September 7, 2011 Reply

I think this person was so upset and had an ax to grind that they made unfounded accusations to get back at SB for whatever injustice they felt they experienced. I’ve seen stuff like this with other opportunities. Fortunately most people are like us and try to judge companies by the sum of various comments. If most people say a company is good then chances are it is. The few negative comments are obviously not the norm and don’t reflect most of people’s experiences. That being said it doesn’t necessarily discount that a given person had a bad experience.

Eddy Salomon - September 3, 2011 Reply

Straight from their faqs:
“Different countries and territories around the globe have different contesting regulations. At the moment, we are only able to serve the US, the UK, and Canada. We hope to expand our service to other areas of the globe in the future.”

    Eddy Salomon - August 13, 2011 Reply

I don’t know how much of my blog you’ve actually read but I’m not really one to skirt around a company’s cons or fees. People like my blog because I do keep it brutally honest. So I’m not sure where you’re getting this observation from. The other thing is most of the opportunities I personally recommend are free: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/recommendations

Hey, Eddy.

I just read the article and I am thinking about joining. I’m going to try to get an xbox 360. Plus, some gift cards and some games. I’m 13 years old. I also want Halo: Reach. lol

Wish me luck!

    Eddy Salomon - July 24, 2011 Reply

Good luck! I’m not sure if it’s open to your age group. But if it is you can definitely reach your goal. It will take a bit of time but it’s possible. I’ve used swagbucks to redeem apple gift certificates to buy iphones, ipad, etc. So getting some gift cards and your xbox is totally feasible. It will just take time and patience.

    Eddy Salomon - July 27, 2011 Reply

I understand your parents concerns because for the most part most of the stuff out there are scams. So they’re only looking out for you. But making assumptions without research isn’t good either. I know when I first got into this industry my parents felt the same way. The only way I was able to ease those fears was to show and prove. Now my parents are my greatest fans. lol But your parents are just giving you advice based on their own experience.

Hello Eddy, as always i enjoy checking out any new sites that you have reviewed & are offering to your subscribers, i am sure this is all very time consuming & to me it’s very much appreciated.
I was wondering about what’s up with Project Payday, they claim that theirs no out of pocket expenses.
But once you read on further & go to join up, they are requiring a fee of around $34.99, to me that’s an expense. If you haven’t already, i hope that you’ll look into this program or website, thanks !!!

Eddy Salomon - July 3, 2011 Reply

Shana, thanks for sharing your experience. But there are always going to be a few people that fall through the cracks either through fault of their own or not. And these people because of emotions will make a judgement call based on that and run around labeling companies a scam. I’ve learned to read between the lines and try to dig deeper. Hopefully others do the same. But everyone has the right to their opinion even if it’s jaded. To each their own.

I LOVE Swagbucks. I actually stumbled across your site doing a search on there for legitimate survery sites. Haha. I’m waiting for my 4th $5 Amazon card to credit to my account and am well on my way to earning enough for another. I’ve emailed SB customer service on a couple of occasions and they have been nothing but helpful, if not at times a bit blunt. BTW, thank you for getting all these tried and true opportunities in one, easy to use directory…. Thanks for sharing Coffee4Mom. I suspect that most of the comments we’ve all posted about our great experiences weren’t made by “Swagbucks employees” either. lol

Eddy Salomon - May 27, 2011 Reply

Really dude? It just sounds like you have a vendetta against the company. I understand being pissed because a company may have wronged you, but running around making wild accusations without actual proof just makes you lose legitimacy. Either way I hope getting your comment out makes you feel better about whatever happened between you and this company.

BewareofScamBucks - May 26, 2011 Reply

swagbucks is not legit. It’s not a good site. They treated me like crap when I contacted customer service concerning valid issues and they deleted my account after complaining to the better business bureau. Don’t get sucked into the scam. I believe with every fiber of my being that anyone who has positive comments about this site is a swagbucks employee not to mention that probably 90% of the “winners” on swagbucks are swagbucks employees. I do not see this site as reputable and can name SEVERAL other sites that actually are.

    Shana Bunch - July 2, 2011 Reply

Well, you are going to believe what you want, but just because you had a bad experience doesn’t mean that it is not a legit company.  I DO NOT work for their company….trust me I wish I could work for ANY company at this point seeing as I have been out of work for OVER a year…but that’s besides the point.  I have won swagbucks by searching plenty of times as well as doing the polls, surveys, using the toolbar etc.  I have been using it about a year and have cashed in my points for 6 amazon.com giftcards and 2 paypal giftcards and recieved and used them all just fine.  I am sorry that you obviously had a bad experience with them.

    Nickmarsceau - September 5, 2011 Reply

Well, I also do not work for Swagbucks. I live in SC and their headquarters is in CA. Anyways, I just got my 8th $5 amazon gift card just by slowly earning swagbucks a little at a time. Even though you may have had a bad experience, you can always make a new account and follow the advice here on this blog. This man speaks truth!

It’s great isn’t it? I’ve done a bit of watching swagtv myself and have earned some bucks. Don’t worry about what people think. Most of them probably waste hours per day watching youtube videos and reality tv and make nothing from it. At least you’re making some money. So keep at it.

Coolio - March 18, 2011 Reply

I have been using swagbucks for 2.5 years and have gotten TONS of free stuff. $160 worth of amazon gift cards, a Halloween costume, t-shirts from expensive places like Zavella, and donate to worthy causes (like Japan). It’s a good site and never had any problems with swagbucks.

The only problem I have is actually convincing my friends that it’s legit. None of them believe me.

    Eddy Salomon - March 19, 2011 Reply

Coolio, I use to have the same problem when I would tell my friends and co-workers about stuff like this. You know what started convincing them? It’s when they would see me with the latest gadget or the actual checks. Then the skepticism turned into hey can you show me how you do this? lol

Don’t worry about your friends. Eventually some of them will catch on and some won’t. That’s just life. As long as you’re making your money and doing your thing that’s all that matters.

hey Eddy,
It has been more than a while now but here’s the update about my swagbucks.
I got two different prizes of two days in a row so far. On Nov 19, SB company sent me the two items on that day. Yesterday, I got the activity spelling book for my second daughter who is five and a division card set for my 9 year old a day before yesterday.
And I just used up some of my points on there to get the portable 3 hole punchers at the same time used on papers. lol
And everyday I use the SB site, I always get some points while doing searches.
I should be working on some articles about “nurses” but I think I should forget writing for that client. No writing sample or anything. I just thought to post up my input about it.
I hope that whoever on here is still skeptical about the site, it’s proof that sb is a legit site.

    Hey Laurie,

Good to hear from you again! Thanks for sharing your experience with SB. I like how you’re using your SB for your kids. I’ve been using it selfishly for gadgets. lol Thanks for chiming in! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

After I earned 500 Swagbucks and ordered a $5 Amazon gift card, they deactivated my account. The reason they gave me was that I opened multiple accounts. But the fact is that I only opened one account. The tone in their reply email is very tough and rude. And I also didn’t get the $5 Amazon gift card. They seem do not want to help their customers solve problems. So I do not recommend this Swagbucks.com. Maybe some day they will also deactivate your account with an enforced “reason”.
Here you can find more complaints about Swagbucks.com
Be careful!

    Eddy Salomon - November 24, 2010 Reply

Sorry to hear this has happened to you. But I’ve redeemed gifts of several hundred dollars from them MANY times for months and never had an issue. I also have family members that are members that haven’t experienced any issues as well. Unfortunately there are always going to be people that may or may not be unfairly tossed from programs like this. But I don’t think it’s the norm. Either way it’s unfortunate this happened to you.

I just randomly stumbled upon your site today and this is actually the first I’ve heard of Swagbucks.com. Looks like a great way to make a little extra cash and I’ve just opened an account today. Does anyone recommend trying the Special Offers to get Swagbucks?

    Eddy Salomon - November 14, 2010 Reply

Doing offers is a great way to earn with swagbucks or other companies like fusion cash http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2007/08/27/is-fusion-cash-fusioncashcom-a-scam/, provided you know the ins and outs. Read my get paid to try offers article: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2008/05/07/getpaidtotryoffers/ so you understand the pros and cons.
With swagbucks I tend to focus on the search and daily polls. But they do give you a lot of options on how to earn. It’s just a matter of exploring what works for best for you.

    Lorraine0528 - December 10, 2010 Reply

I do recommend SOME of the offers. I’ve also only been on for about 6 weeks and am getting stuff, which is great. But the surveys are very iffy. They say they will pay you SB’s and about 80% of the time when you actually finish the survey, they still won’t credit you. You can complain but it doesn’t do much good. This is my biggest complaint with them. However, watch the videos under special offers, this is an easy way to get SB’s. Also if you have time, watch Swagbucks tv. Right now I’m only looking at free special offers but if you do some of the pay ones (only ones you really want) you get SB’s and then it was something you were interested in anyway, so you might as well get the bucks.

    Eddy Salomon - December 10, 2010 Reply

    Hey Lorraine,
Thanks for chiming in. The surveys are still in beta from what I understand. But that being said SB should take a page from MySurvey and compensate users even a buck or two for surveys one may not qualify for. It’s the right thing to do if you spend a few minutes going through screener questions.

The offers are definitely a great way to make SwagBucks. They basically saw how successful companies like fusion cash http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2007/08/27/is-fusion-cash-fusioncashcom-a-scam/ are and decided to add that type of money opportunity into the mix. It’s smart business on their end and good for the users. Either way I love the fact they keep adding new ways to make money with swagbucks.

Danny - November 8, 2010 Reply

Wow, this is a great site. The site itself is very fun and bright. I joined less than nine days ago and I’m three points away from $5 on Amazon. My own friend used to use this but got bored. I don’t think she realized how good this really is. Thanks a lot, Eddy!

Hi Eddy! I really enjoy your advice and videos. I’m still a beginner at this and a bit slow because I am a full time college student and mother of 4, so you can just imagine how busy it gets in my life! Anyway… I tried signing up to use SwagBucks, but couldn’t do it. After I type in all the information it asks for and submit it, it keeps asking me to choose a state from the drop down menu, but there is none. ??? Why is this and what should I do?

Thanks! Melissa

Glad you’re finding the information helpful and you’re taking action. It sounds like you have a super busy work load so I don’t even know how you squeeze this stuff in! But applaud you for being able to do so!
In terms of the technical issue you’re having, I would try to contact swagbucks directly about it. There should be a contact or faq link at the bottom of their page. I would also try signing up at a different computer. Maybe it’s just isolated to your machine. I haven’t heard of anyone else having this issue. So give those suggestions a try. Hopefully it resolves your problem.

im curious about this site i watched your video about getting gift cards from amazon and paypal but I am curious how do you claim them on taxes? is there a certain way you claim them? I recieved a $50 dollar Amazon card which is awesome because it was quite easy to earn it but before i get carried away with this because i am new to it just looking to see about taxes

Jennifer - August 8, 2010 Reply

I participated in several offers. Within the offer description it states that the swagbucks are awarded immediately. I waited 7 days and my account never received credit. I sent a email inquiry and I did not receive a response for two weeks. Once my inquires were addressed I received lame excuses like clean out your cookies and remove your browser history. These are not valid reasons why my account did not receive credit. I submitted the email confirmations of the offers and the offer ID numbers to prove the offers were legitimately completed and still my account has not been properly credited. I have since learned from lots of other members that participate in the site to stay far away from the special offers because you never receive the swagbucks to your account. This repeated pattern of behavior is fraud. Swagbucks is a sham. This site receives a nice referral fee from these companies for guiding people to these special offers but for Swag Bucks to not properly credit accounts for offers that were legitimately completed is foul. Beware of the special offers with Swag Bucks.

Oh, that 450 swagbucks you need to receive a $5 Amazon gift card it is more like 500 to 520 swagbucks is needed to redeem the gift card. If you have 450 the system will not allow you to cash in to receive the gift card. Yeah, this website is foul. Beware!

    Eddy Salomon - August 8, 2010 Reply

This is a common complaints when taking offers anywhere, whether it’s fusion cash, treasure trooper, etc. There is always a small portion of people that don’t receive credit for the offers taken. Usually it’s exactly because of “the lame excuse” you mentioned which in reality is a real issue. As an affiliate marketer I know this is true because we’re able to track conversions from our end. So if I tell you hey I’ll pay you $20 for doing this offer, and for someone reason your cookie on your computer is that of another affiliate, guess what? I’m not getting credit for you doing the offer and I’m not paying you for it because I didn’t get paid for it. So even if you do show me some emailed receipt that you did do the offer, it doesn’t help me because your action isn’t showing up on my stats.

That’s why they encourage you to clear your cookies and cache before you do offers on a site like SB, fusion cash or treasure trooper. I’ve done offers for both FC and SB and never had an issue getting credited because I’ve done that with my cookies. My sister has also done offers with no issues as well. So the lame excuse is a reality and I know what actually happens in the back end as an affiliate.

Yes of course these companies make money when you use the offers from their site, that’s the whole reason they’re paying you. They’re not doing it out of the kindness of their heart. This is a business after all and there isn’t wrong with that. That being said, I totally understand your frustration. I know if I was a lay person that didn’t understand how tracking works when promoting affiliate offers, I might jump to the conclusion that these guys are up to something shady. But I don’t think that’s the case. The information provided is very feasible. It may not be something you like or want to hear but there is definitely some truth to their claims.

Could they have responded faster to you? Sure. So I totally agree with you there. At the end of the day, I think most would agree that SB isn’t a scam because many of us have been paid by them many times over for the polls, searching, surveys and even offers. Ultimately taking offers can be very risky which is why it’s not for everyone and why I focused on the search aspect of my review. Every company is going to have someone that falls through the cracks because of their own doing or because of the company. It’s not fair when it’s not your own doing but we all life isn’t fair. For the most part this company performs as promised especially when it comes to the search and daily poll option. So I say focus on that. That’s pretty much what I and many others have done and have been doing just fine.

Either way, I’m sorry to hear that this has happened to you. Even if this might really be a result of the cookie issue, it still doesn’t take away from your pain and you definitely have the right to express your disgust. I hope that venting and expressing your feelings has helped a bit. Take care and thanks for sharing your experience.

Swagbucks is definitely not a scam! I used the website two years ago and I earned enough swagbucks to get a ‘mystery classic vinyl’. It took about three weeks, but I finally received a Billy Joel vinyl in the mail. I’m not really a Billy Joel fan, but I thought just the fact that it was a legit website was awesome! The only reason I stopped using it was because it didn’t deliver the best search engine results, but I’m sure they have a more powerful search engine these days. Again, I used it a few years back.

Thank god for swagbucks. We all love this site which is obvious. I accumulated over a grand there and I am aiming for the free e gift card of $25 for Amazon. I am such a dork on books. I’m an addict on books because I learn by using that system of what I’m interested in. So many books to choose, it’s so overwhelming. I wish they have good books on here to get too but it’s unfortunate that they don’t. However, Opinion Square have some books that are worth getting instead of just buying them on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I wish it would be cheaper to get the $25 e gift card for Amazon but you have to accumulate at least between 3k-4k swagbucks.

    Eddy Salomon - May 16, 2010 Reply

It is a great site. I mean how could you not love getting paid for something you already do. Although this week I had someone who couldn’t appreciate this opportunity yammering away on my fanpage: http://www.facebook.com/workathomenoscams She claimed SB was a joke, but yet she obviously couldn’t see that not being paid for something you already do was a joke as well. Go figure. lol

Theresa McIntosh - April 8, 2010 Reply

SwagBucks is certainly, NOT a scam! I joined Feb. 18th, 2010. And I’ve already purchased 10-$5.00 Amazon Gift Cards @ 450 SwagBucks each. ALL from completing Freebie Offers, Codes (when TSG gives us one), daily ToolBar login, No obligation Special Offers, (daily). All from NO referrals. And BTW. You can get 1,000 SB’s per referral for them searching and winning. NOT 100!

    Eddy Salomon - April 9, 2010 Reply

That’s pretty much the consensus by me and pretty much all the commenters above. So I’m glad you’ve had a great experience with SB as well.
I’ve just updated the review regarding the points. Basically everything else I described is still relevant. They just added an extra 0 to everything. lol Thanks for sharing your experience.

Brendan - April 7, 2010 Reply

Hey Eddie,

Thanks for the site. Lots of good info. Just joined Swagbucks after reading your article. I have 42 SB. But I noticed you mentioned that after 45 SB you can claim a $5 Amazon gift card. On the redeem section, it states 450 SB necessary.

Seems like it would take a long time to make this opportunity work.

    Eddy Salomon - April 7, 2010 Reply

    Hi Brendan,

You’re welcome. It’s Eddy by the way not Eddie. Swagbucks has changed the value system of their points. All prizes are more but you also earn more for the searches now so it’s basically the same as I described in my video. The only real difference is they just added 0s to everything. That being said, it won’t take that long to earn those Swag bucks if you follow the tips I listed in the article above. At the end of the day you’re searching the internet right now and aren’t getting paid for it. What difference does it make if it takes a little long to make money when you haven’t been for years? Does that make “cents”? Hopefully you can appreciate the potential of this opportunity. If not you can always just focus on traditional jobs: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/jobs Either way you have options, but based on the feedback I’ve received folks love getting their swag on. lol

Pros and Cons for the change

You earn more money when you refer people or at least it looks like you earn more.
The website looks better and now you can earn an unlimited amount of SB from the offers page.

Cons: Paypal costs 5x as much!!!!!!! >_< .

    Eddy Salomon - March 9, 2010 Reply

Agreed Kevin. That was one of the cons I listed above. Get around this by redeeming amazon gift cards instead. That’s what I do now. 😉

Hi again…

Thanks for letting me know about those 2 programs. Will check them out.

Thanks again.

Laurie Tam - March 7, 2010 Reply

Hey Eddy. wow. You use mac? Not a fan of it myself which I prefer IBM kind of pcs. I use swagbucks when I need to research about a article to write about when snatching up titles at textbroker. If you do it everyday, you would earn points faster and did you see the new change they did? The points are higher now compare to where you can earn up to 5 swagbucks. The most I did earn at once was 30. There are even people earning 100 at one time and can’t wait to get that much but if you do a lot of searches, use sb site since they are easy to earn moola with. I didn’t use them from the 15th to up until March 2 since first of all, had my fourth daughter on President’s Day and was out on the 21st and second needed some breaks from being on the net. I love SG since you have chances to earn more and more each day and there isi no limit for your own work there. And oh yeah. Amy Bass, owner of “The Niche Blogger” is giving away 25 free scholarships for 3 months to people who want to check out and use her courses. I just got my free scholarship from her and hopefully, will be able to get my own blog at wordpress with domain link and will post it up for everyone on here to see when done. For now, I don’t have the funds to use for that. Working on other stuff and sorry if this is a long one to read. Ha ha.

    Eddy Salomon - March 7, 2010 Reply

    Hey Laurie,

Are you a fan of viruses and your pc slowing down? lol
Anyway, congrats on your 4th daughter. God bless you. My one daughter is a hand full, I couldn’t imagine 4 of her or any kids for that matter. 2 is my max. lol

I definitely like the changes to swagbucks. It’s a great little opportunity and even better now with the additional bucks. I’m currently saving up my swagbucks so I can redeem it for 2 apple gift cards so I can buy a 3g Ipad in April. I love this opportunity. Nothing better than getting paid for what I do all day long and for referring others.

MissEb - March 7, 2010 Reply

Hi Eddy,

I joined Swagbucks in January. Didn’t really do much with it til a couple of weeks back. I was aiming for $5 Paypal as Amazon.com is no good for me (I’m in the UK – Amazon.co.uk is what I use). I reached payout some days ago so looking forward to using it to pay towards my monthly hosting.

You’re right. It’s not much, but why not get paid to do something you do anyway.

(p.s.: I’m curious – how did you create that live presentation?)

Take care…

    Eddy Salomon - March 7, 2010 Reply

    Hi MissEb,

Congrats on your earning with swagbucks. I love that site. It’s easy money even if it’s not a lot. So I’m glad you can appreciate the logic.
In terms of my video presentations, I have several software that I have access to. Some are mac only and I’m assuming you’re probably on a PC. In which case you may want to look into JingProject.com or CamtasiaStudio which is a more robust version of Jing made by the same company. Both are great products. For macs I use Screenflow. Hope this helps.

Just a thought guys…I’m late in posting this, but here’s a thought I had when I first read the article: because Swag Bucks pays relatively little for each click, maybe this service could be leveraged with another relatively low-paying job such as kgb. Elsewhere on this site, Eddy has posted the link to become a kgb “special agent” and here it is again: http://beginkgb.com/

There are several employers that pay workers to research questions using search engines. I passed up kgb because I couldn’t figure out how to make anywhere near minimum wage at $.05 per answer. But if you used Swag Bucks as your search engine while working for kgb, you could possibly get a few cents from SB on top of your 5 cents for the kgb hit — in other words, you could leverage both opportunities to make a little more. Not a lot, but it’s something.

I’m focusing my energies elsewhere for now, but if anyone has success with this approach please let me know! Good luck all! 🙂

Yes…their search results are weird. It took me a while to get used to it. If I do not like what they come up with, I just go back to Google or Bing. I did download their toolbar.

mjnoles1 - February 2, 2010 Reply

Quick question about swagbucks search results. I really like the idea about earning something when using a search engine. The problem is I do not like the results I get as much as when I just use google.com. I believe its because I get results from google.com in addition to ask.com. My question is (I searched but couldnt find a way), is there a way to turn off the search results from ask.com and only have the search results from google.com presented to me when searching?

    Eddy Salomon - February 2, 2010 Reply

    Hi Mjnoles1,

I totally agree with you about the results. Because they mix the sponsors and the results of ask.com it’s definitely not as relevant as Google. That being said, it’s a simple problem.
Just use Google and SB. You’re not married to use SB. I use both. Once I’ve made a few SB for the day, I just run the same searches on Google to get the real results I like. lol
So just keep that in mind. Nothing is set in stone. Just adapt. Hope that makes sense.

Hello Eddy,
You may not know how inspirational you’ve been to most people. I started seeking to understand affiliate marketing and many work at home opportunity so that I can also join in it;s benefits. I search all round for a genuine blog that gives fair review of products only to find facke reviews all around the internet. However, Eddy, your site has been one of the best so far with regards to job review. Thank you so much for the great work you are doing. I have indeed just registered the swag bug program and I can’t wait to see how well it works.

Laurie Tam - January 30, 2010 Reply

Kevin and Eddy. Someone on Mylot share something with me. You can add mylot to the list at peoplestring and doing that, you get paid to go to mylot. Not sure if you guys know what I mean but it is extra moola there plus on top of that, ML pays you to chat on there as well.
Eddy, I have 8 referrals for SB but none of them seem to be active. I know that I need to do more by posting it up at different places. Thanks for the tips.

kevin - January 30, 2010 Reply

I tried swagbucks it’s a good site but it’s kinda hard to use it due to the graphics(windows 2000) for that reason I’m sticking to peoplestring.

    Eddy Salomon - January 30, 2010 Reply

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’ve never heard graphics being an issue for anyone with this or any opportunity. I didn’t even know there were still machines running windows 2000. But it goes to show how out of touch I am. lol In any event, I’ve heard good things about peoplestring too so I’m glad you enjoy it. Take care and thanks for sharing.

sunflower - January 27, 2010 Reply

Been shopping. As you know I am pretty much like Billy Bob when it comes to the internet. I am up to 5 Swag Bucks now after looked at 20 or more sites. I read some information and they do look for natural searching. 20 is normal for me but maybe not for others. Like Eddy said, they have a lot of different options. I want to wait and see how this plays out before I refer others but it is very natural and very logical and very easy.

I spend a lot of time on the internet and I put things into search engines all day, usually Google, sometimes Bing. I will say this. Their results are a little odd to me. I think it will take some getting used to. For example “Yahoo” brings up other yahoo sites. I guess I should just put in Yahoo Mail. It does not just bring up plain Yahoo.com. It bring up their music or finance sites. So, it does take some getting used to.

I enjoy reading everyone’s comments. I want to try mechancial turk now and maybe Blingo and a few others you all mentioned in there. Again, it is logical like this. I use Amazon.

I know that none of these pay a lot but they do not ask for money up front and that is nice.

    Eddy Salomon - January 30, 2010 Reply

My bad on the delayed response. You comment slipped past my radar. Good job on earning some swag bucks already. I told you it’s pretty easy. In terms of the search results keep in mind that it’s a combination of Google and Ask.com search results, plus the sponsored listings they have mixed in there which is how they can afford to pay you swag bucks. So it’s not the exact same results but pretty close.

You definitely have to be specific with your keywords. If you want yahoo mail then it’s definitely best to type that. At the end of the day you can always just open up a new window in your browser and go directly to yahoo mail. lol In any event, I’m glad to hear your eyes are open to the logic I’ve laid out in the article above. There is so many ways to make money doing what we all do and if people can get over equating things to their salaries offline and seeing the bigger picture, it can lead to bigger things as it has for me. So applaud you for seeing the light too.

I don’t actually use peoplestring so now I have no idea what you mean. But I’m sure Kevin does and anyone else that uses that site. So thank you for giving them a way to increase their money. Just in case folks don’t know about mylot, please read my review here: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2007/09/13/is-mylotcom-my-lot-a-scam/
It’s another great site to get paid for what many of you probably do on facebook and message boards.

In terms of referral, get use to a lot of your referrals not doing a damn thing. Every company I have referrals for there is always a large portion of them that do nada! It comes with the territory. That’s why I have a mix of legitimate programs that I refer. Some will pay me just for people signing up and others will require that my sign ups actually do something. So it’s good to have a mix of these type of opportunities to recommend. At the end of the day, this is a game of numbers. I have over 2000 referrals for SB and no I’m not earning thousands on them but I have managed to earn a few hundred and that’s with a good portion of them not actually taking action. So you don’t need to focus on those folks. If you feel the opportunity is good, just continue to recommend folks and eventually you’ll get some that will take action. The other thing you may want to do is actually write an article about this opportunity as I did and walk people through it, then include your affiliate link instead of linking directly to the SB page. People will be more inclined to actually sign up and take action.

Think about it. I’ve had my swagbuck link up for months. Many of you signed up before I did this review. But a lot more signed up after I wrote my review because I walked you folks through it and give you social proof that it pays. So that’s something to keep in mind. Aside from some of the technical stuff in terms of getting traffic, html, etc, affiliate marketing has to do a lot more with common sense and things you already do in real life. Just something to think about folks. 😉

    King James,

(That feels so weird to say by the way. lol) I appreciate the kind words buddy. Trust me the “FLOGS” (Fake blogs) drive me crazy because they give me a bad name. Then you have some yahoos coming here making assumptions about me without actually reading my body of work. But I guess it comes with the territory because of all the garbage out there. But I truly appreciate that you didn’t jump to conclusions and gave a brother a chance. So thanks. On a side note, the best way to promote something you may be involved with it is to just include it in the url field when posting a comment. If you’re making comments that are though provoking and useful, folks will click on your name to learn more about you and what you may be promoting. So that’s the best way to promote and why I had to delete part of your comment. Hope you understand.

Besides Swagbucks, are you also a member at Opinion Square? I ask that because last week, I got my book in the mail that I wanted which OS have. I made more than enough points, chose that book and within at least 5 days, got Robert Kiyosaki’s Conspiracy of the Rich. Very good book so far. I need to try to get more referrals to my sb and OS as well as other sites that I am on.

MsEdrena - January 27, 2010 Reply

    Eddy Salomon - January 27, 2010 Reply

You go girl! Congrats on earning some Swag bucks. Many more to come. You’re welcome and I’ll keep doing what I do.

I’ve heard of Opinion Square but haven’t really done anything with it. Send me your link. Maybe I’ll give it a go. You definitely need to do more in the way of getting referrals because right now you’re leaving a boat load of money on the table. There are tons of people out there looking for legitimate opportunities and if you’re working with some good companies, then share the love and make some money doing so. Everyone wins.
I love Robert Kiyosaki and have learned a lot from him. I’ll have to check out that book.

MsEdrena - January 27, 2010 Reply

I’m in! Hey Eddy. I made enough on the Mechanical Turks to purchase a book from Amazon.com a couple of days ago without having to pay but a couple of dollars difference in the selling price. After I’d chosen the book I wanted, I went through the check out process, up popped a box that asked if I wanted to use the money that was in my account. I then clicked the box, the money was applied to the cost of the book, which saved me money to use somewhere else. I felt good! Didn’t have to pay but a little for the book (and I really needed the book, which was not cheap). I was VERY happy. Money’s money! A little here, a little there, it’s all good. ~A blessed day to everyone~

Laurie Tam - January 27, 2010 Reply

I forgot to tell you something. I am expecting a second $5 payment from them which I requested it a few days ago. It does suck that you have to earn more with the cash one compare to getting the gift cards. Why do they do that?> It sucks. I was told by a online wahm chick friend of mine and am thinking about doing the $10 a month thing that she did.

Laurie Tam - January 27, 2010 Reply

Hey Eddy.
We had talk before and you know what? I am expecting a second payment from Swagbucks as well. The first one was made back in November and now, can’t use my main paypal account so getting my payment to the one I have to switch to. Somewhat of a long story to tell you why but am peeved that I can’t use the main one anymore. And they still have my money but gmail is being a pain in the bleep.
The only thing I do on there was to do lots of searches but if you do it everyday, there is the potential to earn 140 sb which is $10 a month. Not every searches will make you any sb but way better than doing it for free on google, right?
I knew you would agree with me there.

    Eddy Salomon - January 27, 2010 Reply

Glad to hear your second payment from swagbucks is on the way. Keep in mind the potential is actually higher than $10 per month when you follow the advice above and get into referring people. With any of these little opportunities, that’s just a no brainer way of increasing your income. Any time I join something like this and it’s legit I make it a point to share it with others especially when there is a referral program because we all win in the end. So don’t limit yourself to your activities only. Who doesn’t do searches on the web and who wouldn’t want to make money for this? So it’s an easy “sell”.

In any event, I definitely agree with you about the fluid value of the swag bucks depending on the prizes which is why I mentioned it as a con above. But at the end of the day none of these companies are perfect. There is always going to be a con. But as long as we can make some money at home legitimately, its better than nothing. Thanks for chiming in.

Good to hear from you big sis. I totally feel you about using your amazon balance to purchase items. I do it regularly and how I do a lot of my christmas shopping. I take the points from my MySurvey account and exchange them for gift cards that can be used at amazon.com. So when I saw this as an option on Swagbucks I was thrilled. I look forward to when you rack up your swagbucks so you can continue to shop at amazon.
All these opportunities sure do add up and it’s clear we’re all living proof of this.

That was pretty much the point of my review. Too often we’re all engaging in activities that we do regularly online but don’t get paid for. So why not make money

Thanks so much for the tips…I am very new to all this and who new you could make money just for searching the web. I have been doing research on working from home to make a little more income. I recently joined MySurvey.com and looking into starting up with WA. This may sooon become a full time thing for me. Again thanks for the tips and hope you have a fantastic day!

    Eddy Salomon - January 27, 2010 Reply

You’re welcome. MySurvey is another great site. There are a lot of ways to make money at home legitimately and this site will explore many of them. So as long as you continue to read the material and take action on the ones of interest to you, you’ll do fine. I suggest trying as many of the ones that interest you as possible and earn money with them. Then eventually work your way up to WA if it’s truly an option for you. It involves a lot more work and patience to see a dime. So it’s better to get your feet wet and bringing in some money with the smaller opportunities first. But that’s just my two cents.

Good to hear from you as always. You’re welcome and I’m glad you appreciate this opportunity and will be taking action on it.

You go girl! Thanks for making me some money in the process. I appreciate it. lol
