Like MySurvey.com OpinionOutpost.com is not a scam! Yes I know it's hard to believe, but the fact of the matter is there are legitimate work at home survey companies despite what you may have been led to believe because of all those clickbank ebooks. Recently paid surveys are getting a bad name because there are so many clickbank merchants who compile a list of real survey companies that pay work at home seekers but they make you pay for this list. But it's totally unnecessary as sites like this provide you a complete list of these companies for free.
Now that this out of the way, let's discuss Opinion Outpost. When you first visit the website you may be a little turned off by the whole western motif. I know I was but I didn't want that to affect my judgment so I joined anyway. To my surprise OpinionOutpost.com is very similar to MySurvey.com in terms of the set up and how they reward their users.
Users are paid by points. But don't let this dissuade you or jump to any conclusions. The points are equal to real hard cash. 10 points is equal to $1. But you're probably wondering how many points are usually awarded for doing a survey. In my experience the surveys I've received range from 20-50 points. I know it's not a lot but OpinionPost.com makes up for this by providing you with a lot more surveys then most companies out there. I get a survey almost every 2-4 days which adds up fast by the end of the month. By the way when there is a new survey to take they will email you so you don't have to worry about missing out on some possible money.
The other great thing about OpinionOutpost.com is that the surveys tend to be quick which I love since I try to do surveys from multiple survey companies to increase my total income as a survey taker. (You should too.)
Cashing out your points is painless, you just log into your account, request the money you want based on your point balance and a check is sent within a week or two in my experience. It doesn't get an easier than that people.
So do I recommend OpinonOutpost.com?
Damn skippy I do. Opinion Outpost is the real deal. They're not a fraud or some type of rip off. I haven't heard much in the way of complaints either. So for this review of OpinionOutpost.com I'm giving them 2 thumbs up! Give it a try, you have nothing to lose.
Update: As of 12.30.09 I wouldn't really waste my time with this company. Recently there have been too many reports of long pre-qualification surveys where no compensation is being provided. At least with a company like MySurvey.com you're always provided some compensation even if it's a screener question.
Unlike many of the folks that have complained, I actually reached out to the company via email to hear their side of the story. My hope was that they would fix the issues reported or at the very least address the concerns. That was several weeks ago and I haven't heard jack from them. So that tells me a lot about a company. That being said, I would skip them based on the fact that you may end up taking a long screener survey that you don't get paid for. I find this unnacceptable when you have other companies that will provide some compensation for this. So why bother with these guys?
Hopefully they'll make some changes in the near future but right now I would keep it moving. Some folks are still making money taking their surveys. But there is a risk that you may take a long as screener survey and not get paid for it. If you're fine with that risk then feel free to proceed. Good luck either way.
Hello Eddy. Great post. It’s important to let people know there are legitimate survey companies out there.
I thought your readers might like to know about Mintvine. It’s a new service that allows people to make money from completing surveys and it is completely legitimate.
They even offer a referral program for anyone interested, earning 15% of what others make.
Thanks for the post.
Hi MintVineJosh,
We’ve actually reviewed your company here: https://www.workathomenoscams.com/2015/06/03/mintvine-surveys-does-it-stink-is-it-a-scam/
So feel free to chime in since you work for the company. Thanks.
Opinion Outpost is definitely not worth your time, they will give countless reasons why they cannot pay you after you invest time in their surveys.
Indeed. Thanks for sharing your experience.
No problem Corissa. It’s always good to research anything you sign up for before hand even if it’s recommended. Things change constantly.
Thanks Eddy! I just signed up with them through inbox (uk for the cash lol) but now I know not to put forth the effort!!
I just joined Surveysavvy under you!
 I have made a little over 400 dollars there but true, I am now having a bit of trouble redeeming the points I have, get an error report but usually they have been good at resolving issues for me in the past and I will continue with them as long as they get this fixed soon
They suck-took quite a few surveys , went to cash out through paypal , got an error message was told to try again then the a_holes froze my account. This is do to them being taken over by SurveySampling
and are now a philippines company, had cashed out with paypal about 6 times before this but since oct2011, the surveys have gotten cheaper and you end up getting “frozen” and can’t get your money
STAY FAR FAR AWAY IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME BECAUSE THE “FREEZING” SEEMS ARBITRARY.
SEE THE POSTS ON THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE
I used them last year and I received about $ 5 worth of points but I stopped completing surveys there because I was completing them up to 98% and was disqualified for something or another…. & their surveys are 25 minutes or better… SCAM…SCAM….SCAM!!!!!
The not qualifiing for a survey is a common problem. It’s all depends on demographics. Unfortunately some demographics are just more popular than others. So you know getting a survey because of that doesn’t make it a scam. It’s called supply and demand. That being said the not getting any type of credit after going through a long ass screening process of questions is shady. So I agree with you there.
I personally think they are a huge SCAM.  they send me all these survery – about 30-40 in the last month.  I only qualified for 1 survey out of all of them and then when I got all the way through the survery I got  a message saying I would not receive credit for it becasue they felt the survery was done too quickly ot that the computer I was using was not in the counrty that I registered in (WTF is that??)
I have found that Opinion Outpost is not only the easiest one to qualify for surveys for, but the rewards are the best out there. Â I qualify for at least 3-4 surveys a week, and my checks arrive in less than 2 weeks. Â Just cashed my third one! Â Its all demographics, if you fit the demographics of the company or brand that they’re surveying for, you’ll qualify. Â If not, then you wont. Â
Glad to hear you’ve been having some good experiences with them. I use to personally stand by them. But their lack of communication has changed that for me. I know all to well that surveys and focus groups are based on demographics. I tell people all the time about this when they’re bitching they don’t get surveys.
But I take issue with a company is unresponsive to their members. Either way glad to hear you’re doing well with them.
I’m glad to see others are not getting qualified for these surveys,I thought it was just me that no one wanted to ear from. Is there anything you can say to make yourself more attractive to some of these surveys. honesty might be the best policy but it didn’t seem to do me much good.
  Great site BTW     Pete
Pete,
It’s purely demographics. Some are more attractive than others depending on what the client wants. So cheating wouldn’t help you. You can’t really depend on surveys for consistent money so give some other opportunities a shot like the ones that we list on our recommendations page: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/recommendations
That being said, I do like Instant Cash Sweepstakes. I basically earn money several times a day for taking quick short polls. It’s a bit different than a survey site because the questions are short and your demographics don’t matter as much:
https://www.workathomenoscams.com/2010/07/19/is-instantcashsweepstakes-com-a-scam/
Hope this helps. Thanks for the kind words by the way.
Funny, every time I complete a server there’s some kind of error or I don’t qualify anymore. This is now a scam. Avoid it.
That and the fact they aren’t responsive to emails anymore is why I don’t recommend them anymore.
That’s pretty much our mantra and it makes “Cents”. Although personally I focus on mysurvey now ever since this company has been unresponsive.
I have been using outpost since summer, and while I have not made a lot of money every little bit helps.
I assume that the monies that you are paid is counted as ordinary income and must be reported to the IRS. Is this correct?
Yes. We discussed how this works here:
https://www.workathomenoscams.com/2010/04/15/weekly-work-at-home-recap-04-16-2010/
Hope it helps.
Here we are, October 27th, 2010, and opinion outpost is still sending the same garbage…long, pre-qualifying surveys that you don’t get paid for. The worst part is, I just filled out the EXACT same automotive survey that I have done on other sites (and been paid for); but here I was told that I didn’t qualify.
I see several opinions here about company policy…considering that this issue has been present for a couple of years now, I think that it is fair to say that this company is a scam company…I have attempted contact several times, with no success (and yes, my contact involves polite questions, unlike what you may see me write here at times :D)
The main point is, this company has had a considerable amount of time to fix this issue, but has chosen not to…the mark of a scam company.
John,
I have to agree with you which is why review of them was updated a few months ago. A lack of response to our concerns is just unacceptable. It’s a shame when companies go this route.
Eddy,
Thanks for the advice. No, I am not expecting an “income” per sey. Just some extra money to add to my Christmas fund, Birthday fund or whatever. I will definately try the sites you listed. Thanks so much for providing this site to help others. Thanks, too, for helping me! Will stay in touch to let you know how it goes! Have a great day!
Karen
You’re welcome Karen. I think surveys can definitely help you with your goal of putting aside a little extra money for holidays and stuff. Coupled with some of the other opportunities I’ve recommended, don’t be surprised when you see you’re making some decent money like many of my loyal subscribers. Keep me posted and you’re welcome! Thanks for your continued support.
Hello. I just found your site today. I am exploring the options of being paid to take surveys. My husband and I both work full time. However, sometimes we need to supplement our income. I’ve been selling Avon but with the investments for the brochures, etc., it costs more to sell it than I make from it. LOL! So I am exploring the option to get paid for surveys. Any words of wisdom for a beginner?
Hi Karen,
Well it’s always good to explore multiple streams of income. I never like keeping all my eggs in one basket. That being said, paid surveys aren’t consistent money. Keep in mind surveys are totally dependent on a given company and the demographic profile they want. If you happen to be in a demographic profile that is highly sought after then you’ll get a lot of surveys. But if you’re not, then chances are you won’t see a lot of money. So it’s good to sign up for a few of the legitimate ones but don’t expect it to be consistent money or even a lot of money for that matter.
Keep adding to your arsenal of multiple streams of income with other opportunities. We’ve listed a few of my favorites on the following page:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/recommendations As long as you have a diversified portfolio of legitimate opportunities you should be able to make some decent money. Hope this helps.
i love opinion outpost i was skeptical at first but i made $10 with them already and i had encashed the check. they send it within 4 days although they say it might take them 6-8 weeks. the good thing is they dont charge you anything and they pay u for the efforts youve done im happy so far
Hi Paul,
I’m glad you’re doing well with OO. Thanks for sharing with us!
I just wanted to say that I love Opinion Outpost. I’ve been a member for over a year and never had any problems I with them. Just today I made 10 dollars with them!
Congrats Camira!
I would like to no if there is any more survey site like opinion outpost. I only trust this site opinions and i have a pinecone barely any surveys, mysurvey taks a ong time and mindfeild just does not work. ‘
So is there another survey site with check/cash redemtion and like 2-5$ for a survey?
Angel,
Try visiting Callie’s site http://www.SurveyFavs.com she should be able to provide you with some other good resources.
Opinion Outpost is my favorite survey site, because they credit you with the reward as soon as you complete the survey–and the cash out min is only $5. Cashcrate is another good site–i make the most money with them, but it’s definitely the company i put the most time and effort into. SurveyHead.com is another legitimate site. I make a ton with them too, but the surveys take a long time to approve, and you have to have $25 to cash out…then that process takes about 6 weeks before you actually receive that money via paypal. There are some legit companies though, so don’t let people tell you otherwise!
Marcie,
That’s pretty much what we’ve been saying for a few years now. That being said I can understand why folks are quick to think everything is a scam because there are so many websites out there trying to mislead people. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Re: OpinionOutpost. I am pretty new so take my thots with a grain of salt, please. After the initial Grueling signup surveys process. I have gotten invitations to surveys from O.O. and again, spent well over an hour filling out survey after survey, only to be informed that I “did not qualify” Well, Excuse Me. I obviously did qualify, because I answered about a jillion questions about food, shopping, makeup etc etc etc. It’s starting to look like O.O. is getting a bunch of free survey answers and then saying, “Oh, my bad, try again tomorrow.”
@Eddy Salomon:
I am not sure what the problem is with other people, but I am still qualifying for and getting credit for surveys. So fa in November I have received credit for $102.00.
I did notice something new a few weeks ago, after taking a survey, you are re-directed to the Opinionoutpost site. YOU MUST type you email address in the box in the middle of the page, then submit. It you do not do this, you will not get credit.
Since May I have been paid over $500.00 from opinionoutpost. I am having NO trouble folks.
David,
Thanks for chiming in. I’m glad I’m getting both sides of the story. I know it’s not black or white either way. But you would think it is given some the recent comments. That being said I don’t discount that some folks are going through the issue described. However none of them seem to be taking Callie’s advice and calling the company to voice their problems. After all how can a company address a problem if folks aren’t contacting the company directly? Seems to me it just makes sense to make an attempt to deal with the source head on first. Then if that fails to get any resolution or a dialogue then do what you feel is best. But whatever, to each their own.
This is the greatest scam in the world. They do not actually take your money, the simply do not pay you the money that you expect to receive, because of their very deceptive clause. However the attorney general of the state of MN has someone working on it. Please keep copies of all of your transactions. Also report them to your states attorney general and the BBB
We can shut them down and get a class action lawsuit.
Has anyone actually tried to call this company to find out what’s going on?
This original post is fro over a year ago, but it may interest some (if it has not been mentioned already), ZoomPanel offers 5 points per survey even if you do not qualify. They do not offer cash rewards. Rather they offer merchandise– books, movies, jewelry,etc. I have not redeemed my points yet with them. So, I can’t tell you much more than that. I have had great luckk with MySurvey and Opinion Outpost as well. Also, Lightspeed has been good too. Rather than cash, they offer gift cards to lots of different e-stores, and brick and mortar places. I have made more in useful gift cards through them than cash from the other two!
@Larry:
I had the same experience as anti survey scam. I got a prequalifier which asked stuff like which insurance company do we utilize, are we in a union then they directed me to a survey that proceeded to ask me which companies I was aware of that provided medical services in addition to groceries,photo services. They then went as far as to ask did I fill scripts in the last 3 months, which one of those places I utilized to fill my last 3 prescriptions, how much did I spend on said scripts and then proceeded to tell me I did not qualify. Can you say phishing? There are legit sites out there that recognize a prequalifier shouldn’t require actually taking a 20 minute survey uncompensated. I’ll stick with them.
Hey Cwaltz,
Thanks for sharing. Have you tried what Callie has suggested on called Opinion Outpost to discuss this? It might make a huge difference if a lot of folks flood their telephone lines complaining about this issue. I agree it’s not fair and I know far more companies that have better practices in terms of prequalifier questions.
@Eddy Salomon:
I have no problem agreeing that OO stands in need of improvement in regard to the dreaded qualifier nonsense. I’ve been there, done that and it’s no fun. I too have been frustrated when it’s happened to me.
Maybe AntiSurveyScam will at least give OO the benefit of doubt, courteously & politely call support to report the incident (having the survey reference # should be helpful!), and maybe a point reward will be in order.
I think it’s worth a try.
@ANTISurveyScam:
Wow, I am surprised by your Opinion Outpost allegation Antisurveyscam .
Opinion Outpost has been one of my faves for quite some time. I’ve never had any problems with them. Well, just the occasional server glitch that occurs from time to time. However, when this has happened, I simply call customer support at 877-254-1234 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm MST) and speak to one the courteous support reps about it. I’ve even been awarded the points for the “glitch” infected survey qualifier.
I could never imagine calling Opinion Outpost a scam.
I’m there with you Callie. I receive checks from OO every month consistently. That being said I still think they need to work on this nonsense of not paying people for pre-qualification questions especially if they’re more than 10 questions. At that point it’s just a full survey and folks should be paid something. So I’m not really feeling that. http://www.GoMySurvey.com will still pay you for the pre-qualification questions. It’s not a lot but at least its something. So I understand AntiSurveyScam’s feeling. However this is just one of those situations where you may not agree with the policy of a company. I wouldn’t go as far as calling Opinion Outpost a scam. They just have room for improvement.
I don’t like it when I get to an airport and learn that my flight has been delayed or left early. It sucks and its not fair but I don’t think the airline business is a scam. It just has some poor policies. Just my two cents.
Chris is right on. YES OPINION OUTPOST IS A SCAM! I signed up as a way for my opinion to be heard and to receive compensation for that. At the time they seemed to be fair and reasonable, but when I started receiving emails, I would be directed to a page, where I was asked MORE PRELIMINARY questions before the actual survey would even begin. Then I would go through a bogus process called QUALIFICATION. Where you can spend 1min to as much as an hour, some report (a multi-survey that takes days to complete) before you were TURNED DOWN!! THAT’S RIGHT NO POINTS FOR YOU! They are tricking people into answering the survey and then telling them they aren’t a match.
It’s complete and utter BS.
I just finished a survey that was more than 50 questions asking me about my game playing habits.
And didn’t receive not a single credit!
Don’t waste your time on this SCAM.
I can see why Chris is upset, I get told the majority of the time that I do not qualify but it is all part of the surveys. There are ups and downs. I joined almost a year ago and still made $60 considering I do not qualify for 90% of the surveys. Something is better than nothing compared to other sites I am part of.
Opinion Outpost is totally a scam! I started logging my participation in their “research panel” months ago. After 10 surveys in a row in which I documented how much time I put into each of them, I’ve found that I spent on average 7 minutes on each only to be told that “I didn’t qualify” for the survey. Well how is it that I answered so many detailed questions like more than 30 “Rank how much you like this company from 1 to 5” only to be told I didn’t qualify? It’s nonsense! I “didn’t qualify” because they didn’t want to pay me! This is the biggest ripoff on the internet. What they’re doing is unconscionable! I thought I’d try again today to give them “a second chance,” but once again after spending more than 10 minutes and answering about 40 questions, I was told I “didn’t qualify.” Ridiculous! They got their questions answered – 40 questions!!!!!!!! – I got nothing! They’re completely full of crap!
Chris,
Thanks for sharing. But in my humble opinion, this is just another scenario where one may not like the policy of a given company so now its being labeled a scam. This seems to be pervasive when it comes to this industry. There is a lot of things that the government and airlines do that I’m not fond of but I don’t run around calling them a scam. The fact of the matter is that Opinion Outpost does pay when you qualify for a survey. Not qualifying for a survey is a common thing. It’s basic supply and demand. If you fit the proflie that a company needs then you get a survey. If you don’t then you don’t get the survey. It’s not a conspiracy theory.
That being said I don’t like when companies don’t give you some type of compensation for taking the screener questions especially if it takes more than a minute or two. That’s one of the reasons, I like http://www.GoMySurvey.com so much. No matter what, you always get some type of compensation even though it’s not a lot. So I would argue that if Opinion Outpost doesn’t offer that especially if the screener questions are as long as you claim then that stinks. In which case people may not want to work with this company if that will pose a problem for them.
But again, it doesn’t make them a scam. It’s not like you paid money to join and then all of sudden they didn’t deliver on the product. Or they sent you a fake check to cash or told you you’re applying for a data entry job and it turns out to be a ploy to sell you on affiliate marketing. That type of stuff I would consider a scam:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/scams
In any event, i do appreciate you chiming in. If what you’ve reported is in fact the case, hopefully Opinion Outpost will change this policy in the near future if enough people find an issue with it.
I am very excited about those virtual debit cards, it sounds awesome, quick cash on your hands.
Have a nice day all.
Hey all!
Gotta love Opinion Outpost’s upcoming new Rewards options! Faster, easier cash outs, a Virtual Debit card, and more. Wow, I’m excited! Even more reason why Opinion Outpost remains one of my faves.
So, what do you all think of the new rewards options? Any fans as excited about it as I am? lol
By the way, for any Twitterers that didn’t know, but might be interested in knowing, Opinion Outpost tweets: http://www.twitter.com/opinionoutpost
Take care! 😉
Hey guys, I don’t know if is good news but at least is something new on OpinionOutpost.com, now you can redeem your points for Amazon Gift cards, the rate is the same 10 points = $1 dls on the amazon gift card and you need a minimum of 50 points ($5dls) to claim one.
Good luck to all.
P.S. Eddy, keep the great job that you have been doing and thank you for sharing all your knowledge, I hope that family issue is getting better or better if it has been resolve, have a wonderful day.
Thanks for sharing that update Jorge. That is good news. I redeem my points from mysurvey for amazon gift cards all the time. I love using them to buy all type of things for my home with them.
Thanks for your sentiments to regarding my family. I really appreciate it. It’s getting better but you know how things can take a turn when you’re dealing with family issues. lol
Thank you very much Eddy for this wonderful review, I have been working with OpinionOutpost for 5 months now and I have get very good checks from them, obviously I’m not going to support all my groceries from there but it has help a lot.
Have a nice day.
Hey Jorge,
Thanks for sharing. It’s always good to hear when people succeed with these opportunities.
Thank Eddy…that did help!
You’re welcome.
Hi. I’m new to the whole concept of paid surveys…and I had a question: do you need to buy something first in order to answer the surveys? Say there’s a survey about a product you don’t have…do you need to buy said product before the survey?
Hi Micaela,
I think you’re confusing paid surveys with get paid offers as described on this page:
http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2008/05/07/getpaidtotryoffers/
Traditional surveys companies may sometimes provide you products to try at no cost. But they will never expect you to buy anything.
You can find some of my top survey companies listed here:

That’s what I like about you your always on the roll and head of the game.
Keep up the good work!!!
And for your honest opinion it is surely appreciated.
Will keep it in mind,

@Veronica N.:
Hey Veronica,
I totally agree with Eddy’s reply. In addition, I’d like to remind you that you can always log into your MySurvey account daily! Doing so will give you a good edge in making sure to quickly catch available surveys without waiting for the email notification.
I enjoy doing it, and wanted to share. Hope it helps! 🙂
Well thanks for finally coming around Ms. I’m too busy with my own great blow http://www.SurveyFavs.com so I can’t back to the hood anymore and chill with your peeps. lol
Great to see you here Callie. If you haven’t noticed I miss your feedback here. lol
@David:
Hey David,
Oops! Please pardon my tardiness in chiming in. I don”t recall receiving my email notie of this post update.
No doubt you’ve listed some great survey programs. I’m already a panelist of each of them and have been for quite some time. Nonetheless, you’ve given others plenty of opportunity to join!
Thanks! 😉
Hi again,
Yeah regards to http://www.mysurvey.com in the very beginning I use to receive lots of emails and or notification stating you have a new survey, I don’t get it frequent anymore why is that? Just curious.
Thanks
Veronica N.
Hi Veronica,
What you’re experiencing is normal.
They’ll be times when the marketing research company has a lot of clients so that means they’ll have more surveys to send to their database.
Or sometimes business isn’t as busy. They lose clients, etc.
Be sure your profile is updated with the most up to date information as well. At the end of the day, this is why you’re always hearing me preaching multiple streams of income. When one slows
down, the others can pick up the slack. I’m do well for myself but you’ll never, ever see me stop adding to my streams of income. It just doesn’t make “cents”. So fortunately you’re involved with multiple companies
and opportunities. Keep adding to your streams of income and you’ll always be fine because some of these opportunities are bound to dry up or trickle. So keep ahead of that by staying hungry. 😉
Morning Eddy,
Thanks so much for your kind words, I also have been searching for something to do at home that is one of the reasons why I have not been on here for quite some time. Been a busy bee I will let you know more of hand if I have found something in my research I see lots of possibilities that will allow me to train at home. So, till then have a blessed day. 🙂
Veronica N.
Hi Eddy,
I must say Opinion Outpost does pay just received my first check of $ 27.80 I was like wow that was really fast!! I do recommend it.
thank you,
Veronica N. 😀
Great to from you again Veronica! But better to hear you’ve made some money with our recommendations. Just goes to show we’re not full of it and people can make money with these non-traditional work at home opportunities if you have an open mind! Keep up the good work!
Hi Callie, I am glad you love opinionoutpost. Like you they are my favorite. The low cash out of $5 is great and I like getting $55-$75 extra spending dollars every month. The other survey companies I listed above are also easy make money on. Give them a try.
@Callie:
@Richard:
Hello Richard,
I am an active survey panelist with Opinion Outpost. I love their program! I’ve cashed out a few times. My most recent cash out experience was like … “Wow!” The newly improved cash out turn around time is lightening fast! Very impressive.
After reading your post, I definitely wanted to chime in with an important correction …
Opinion Outpost has a minimum cash out of 50 points which is equivalent to $5. Not sure where or who your figures came from, but they are not valid.
The minimum cash out information can be verified as per logging in to your Opinion Outpost member area, then selecting the “Rewards” link from the right. And, also by contacting member support toll-free at 1-877-254-1234.
I hope this info helps 🙂
Thank Goodness for having my active subscribers ready to chime in and provide some further insight. You guys are great. Callie knows her stuff! She’s the survey queen ( http://www.SurveyFavs.com ) lol.
Hi Eddy,
I am glad to share because I want to encourage others about taking surveys. The first month I started I earned almost nothing because I was all over the place with too many company’s. Right now I stick to just a few that have proven reliable and honest. After signing up to take surveys you MUST check your email every half hour. If you wait too long the quota will be filled.
See you all later.
@Eddy Salomon:
I also want to let you know I have in 2 opinion panels last week.
1. Lightspeedpanel.com-had to watch a pilot of a tv show(wish I could tell you about it.) After watching it I and 5 other people answered questions and gave comments about the program. We spent 70 minutes watching and discussing the show for $30.00.
2. Globalopinionpanels.com-Watched a promotional video for an arm of the U.S. military, and gave opinions about it. Total time=50 minutes, received $20.00
Good luck all.
I have been a member of Opinionoutpost since late march. II have earned a total of $176.00 in a little over 3 months. I do not qualify for 75% of the surveys, but the ones I do finish are worth from $1-$5. I noticed that Richard said he needed $25 to cash out. The cash out minimum is only $5.00. Normally I get a check within 10 days of requesting it. So far I have made more money with Opinionoutpost than any of the other 12 survey sites I use.
Below are the amounts I received in June from the sites I take survey’s on:
Opinionoutpost.com=$58.00
Surveyhead.com=$32.25 Paypal deposit(it took 4 weeks to get it)
Inboxdollars.com=$30.00(3 weeks to get)
globalopinionpanels.co,(Synovate)=$25.00
yourtwocents.com=$30.00
greenfieldonline.com=$11.00
lightspeedpanel.com=$30.00
I think $208.00 for June was decent. You can’t support yourself taking these surveys, but you can earn extra money.
Thanks for chiming in David!
Always good to hear another perspective. Very impressive what you’ve done with the surveys! Folks should take note.
I got enough points to cash in for $25.00. Opinion Outpost said that I would have to have enough points for $150.00 before I could cash in. This means that I would have to continue this for the rest of my life. I am 73.
Hi Richard,
I’m not sure if I understand your comment. Are you saying that Opinion Outpost has changed their requirements and the minimum payout is now $150 instead of $25? If so, that sucks.
Simple enough to fix. Try some of the other survey companies that have a reasonable payout amount:

At the end of the day you’re not going to be able to support yourself with just taking paid surveys. The real money is getting involved in many of these non-traditional work at home opportunities at once so you have multiple streams of income coming in that add up to decent income. Or get in the habit of referring other people to them which is where a lot of money can be made because who doesn’t want to make a little money at home.
Focus groups may be another option for you as well since they pay extremely well at the time of the survey. There is none of this waiting nonsense. But the trade off is an hour or two of your time and leaving your home:
https://www.workathomenoscams.com/2008/01/30/20-per-hour-raise
Or you can go the traditional work at home job route:

Either way you have options, its just a matter of taking the best ones for you.
Hope this helps.
@Eddy Salomon:
My own efforts. I was laid off from my job as a support systems analyst 3 months ago. So far I can’t find another job. One day I decided to start taking survey. There is no way this will replace my lost income, but so far I have made $250.00 in 7 weeks on various sites. Everyday I email resumes and then spend hours taking surveys. It is a LOT of work for a small amount of money, but it is a decent supplement to my unemployment and savings.
Hi David
Sorry to hear about your layoff. It’s a story I hear too often on this blog. But you’re taking a great attitude and being proactive. I can’t tell you how many people complain how surveys don’t pay enough and I need a “real job”. My philosphy has always been, why not make some money than none at all as you look for real jobs. Some folks like yourself get this and are obviously making some money. And others are still searching in frustration making nothing. So applaud you. Keep up the good work. Everyone reading this should take note. We have many of these small ways of making income and combined it can add up: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/recommendations So take note and follow David’s lead.
I make more money from opinonoutpost than any other survey site. I signed up 7 weeks ago and so far I have received 3 checks for $120. Some days I do have trouble qualifying for even one survey, but that is not usually the case. I have a great opinion of them.,
Hey David,
Thanks for sharing. That’s very impressive and should be an inspiration to others. Opinion Outpost is definitely a good company. So did you make that much with just your own efforts or are you taking advantage of their referral/affiliate program as well? If not you should. It’s a great way to boost your income. Take care.
Opinion Outpost is kickin’!! As said above, they are one of my favs, but I love them even more now! I knew Opinion Outpost was enhancing their cash-out process to expedite the time in which checks are received … but lightening fast was a pleasant surprise!!
I cashed out on Wednesday, 3/18/09 and received a nice check on Monday, 3/23/09. I was like … ssssweeet!
Now is a great time for US residents to sign-up!

Always good to hear you’re making that money Callie!

Opinion Outpost is one of my favs! Just received one check … with another one on the way! 🙂
Hi Jessica,
Thanks for the feedback. I totally hear what you’re saying about opinion outpost. That’s probably why it’s not one of my go to survey companies. But with that said it is still one of the short list of legitimate survey companies that pays. So we need to have all options. Every company will have its issues but its just good to have options.
With that in mind, I recently joined another survey company, http://www.GoSynovate.com and what I like is that even if I don’t qualify for a survey, they still pay for my time. Since that’s been a sore spot for you, you should definitely check them out.
http://www.GoMysurvey.com is another great survey company that I love.
You can read my reviews on these companies and watch the videos I created about them:

Hope they help.

Not a fan of opinion outpost. I often don’t qualify for the surveys, which is fine, just a part of taking online surveys. What I don’t like is how long some of the pre-qualifying surveys are. I have spent a lot of time taking these non-surveys, with no “consolation” prize, so to speak. Would it kill them to give me something for my time? I would be satisfied with 10 cents, it would eventually add up. Also, I finished an EXTREMELY long survey, and there was an “unexpected error” at the end, and all my info was lost. I complained, got a “too bad” response from outpost. The problem was with the survey company, so outpost didn’t care. Overall, a waste of time.
Hi Larry,
I’m glad to hear that you’re making money with surveys. Seems like people do when they work with the right companies.
I have to agree with you about the cool factor of getting paid while you doing other things. It’s the best! lol
In terms of your complaints, I can totally relate.
You must be a mind reader because I’m in the process of creating a new video for another legitimate survey company I signed up with. And they must have heard our complaints because this company addresses most of them. So stay tuned. I’m hoping to get the video and article up by today or tomorrow.

In terms of being an affiliate, trust me when I say its the best thing since sliced bread. lol Especially in the situations where you’re taking surveys that you don’t qualify for. At least you know that someone else that your refer maybe and you get paid. So its a win win if people are willing to get trained about being an affiliate. You can visit the following page for more details: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/aff
Thanks for chiming in. We appreciate it! There is a lot of money to be made at home if people venture outside the whole traditional work at home job angle. So I’m glad you’re one of the folks that sees this.
Good luck.
Eddy
I just completed an Opinion Outpost survey last night and made 35 points (equals $3.50) for about 5 min. worth of work. I agree that it sometimes feels like you keep getting rejected before actually hitting on a survey that pays (I went through 3 others last night before I got to that, so realistically it may have been about 1/2 hour before I actually got paid that $3.50), but then again, I was able to do that on my WiFi-connected laptop while watching the Olympics; not bad to make money while watching TV!
I wish that at sometime, some survey site would offer points for even attempting to complete a survey… Even if it was only a fraction of a cent that you got, at least you wouldn’t feel so deflated when you don’t qualify to complete the survey (do you happen to know of any?).
Also, I would love it if the survey sites could better determine if you would qualify and /or aid in some of those qualifying questions… I hate having to fill out my age-range, state I live in, occupation requirements, etc.; get rejected for that survey; and then only to have to fill out those same (or similar) questions again for a different survey. It would save me the hassle of having to fill out all of those pre-qualifying questions while at the same time perhaps reducing the sites bandwidth costs by only providing those surveys that are most likely to be completed by the user.
I also just finished watching your video on MySurvey.com, and noticed that I may be missing out on some other benefits from these sites — I’m thinking I should step up to the next level and become more involved with their affiliate program. So yeah taking the surveys is the first step, but then you can enhance that with recommendations to others!
Hi Natalie,
Thanks for sharing. I’ve had that happen to me with SurveySavvy. Unfortunately this is part of taking surveys and focus groups. The whole reasons companies are paying us is because they need a certain profile for their research. So if we don’t meet that then they can’t use us. It’s nothing personal.
But I’ll be the first to admit sometimes it seems like I never meet any profile. lol But it all depends on the survey company you’re working with.
That’s why its important to sign up with multiple free and legitimate survey companies. This way you’re more likely to qualify for a paid survey.
Our recommendations for other survey companies can be found at: http://www.workathomenoscams.com/articles
I hope this helps.
Eddy
I have had a bad experience with Opinion Outpost just because they have lengthy pre-qualifier surveys that I always “fail” and never get to the real survey.
Thanks for sharing your experience Nicole.
Eddy
I’ve made more money from Opinion Outpost than My Survey. Both are great companies.
Paid surveys is one of the great ways to make money. But unfortunately, we are likely to get a lot of unwanted spam, and very few paid surveys opportunities.
